Can Anyone TRULY Come To An "Understanding" of Armaf Oud By Reading Its Reviews?? I think most of us read the posts/reviews of a certain fragrance on Fragrantica to try to come to an understanding of what the fragrance "is" and based on that, whether it is "a try, a buy, or a pass" for us individually. I believe most are probably searching for a "consensus viewpoint" to help us with that....The reason I'm writing this, is that it occurred to me in speed-reading practically all of the posts here (approximately 60) for Armaf Oud that I've never seen such a lack of consensus on any fragrance. This by no means is meant as a negative assessment of those contributing. In fact, what I "see" in evaluating all of them comprehensively, is that Armaf Oud's scent is perceived as quite uniquely personal/special overall at a minimum, but likewise it seems to be a fairly challenging fragrance to describe accurately, especially when considering how extraordinarily well executed this fragrance is (ie. virtually niche quality; being smooth, balanced and creatively blended). The lack of agreement here with reviewers also seems to make sense especially when you start with the premise that Armaf named their fragrance Armaf Oud with no "oud" even listed in the official notes. Similarly, opinions here range from there's "little, to NO oud" (most common) to "absolutely there's oud!", then to "it's middle-eastern" oud, to no, "it's western" oud. On top of that, people compare this to no less than (8) generally higher end fragrances, while others will then argue passionately--with personal experience-- against those comparisons. Although most consider AO an ambery fragrance (at the least), it runs the gamut as far as what other notes/smells are "experienced". The following are but some that reviewers say are more prominently satisfying within AO: spices, leather, incense, vanilla, floral, tobacco, wood, oud, black pepper, caraway, patchouli....All to say nothing about how diversely AO is more generally or personally described. There is yet another aspect of this particular fragrance that makes it harder to embrace relative to most other fragrances in general: It is AO's wearability/versatility. A fair number say they don't know quite how/when to wear it. I get that. To me, what makes AO very unique compared to most other fragrances is that it is both a fairly deep and mellow fragrance; one that is classy and exquisite, and most ideal for warmly "chilling" in the Fall and Winter.....I don't really know if what I'm doing here will "help" others better understand AO or not. I just noticed the aforementioned and hoped somehow it could. For those who try AO--which I would strongly suggest even if you think it just "might" be a fit--some will "love" it immediately, while numerous others (like myself) the fragrance "became" a love in a relatively short time. Personally, AO literally went from zero (it's O.K./nothing special) to fragrance hero for me in just a few weeks. (ie. If AO doesn't grab you at first, keep trying it until you come around to it, or it comes around to you--because for you it may well exhibit that "grow on you" trait fairly common of niche fragrances, and similar to what others have experienced here). Also, some are disappointed in AO's performance, while the overall ratings above indicate AO has quite exceptional performance for most. So either try it before you buy it, or as I did successfully--because I have dry skin--spray more. It is so well worth it for this fragrance! Finally, the reality is that AO is TRULY an incredible fragrance even when taking into consideration: a) Any shortcomings or "diversity" here in the reviews and b) Its limited wearability/versatility, as this fragrance STILL presently garners an extremely respectable 4.15 average perfume (scent) rating even ten years after its release; keeping in mind that the true "lovers" of AO would probably rate it collectively at 4.30 or better AND it's a uniquely attractive fragrance to wear, since most are not familiar with it!!----Thank you for hanging in for this especially long post!

This is ur reminder that every perfume is worth checking even if you think ur gonna dislike the perfume based on the name (probably because it sounds predictable or the note is explicitly mentioned just like this one BOOM! Oud! BRANDING🤯). So yes, always click on a random perfume and check the note breakdown + reviews because clicking on a random perfume and getting surprised by the most random + interesting note combinations u’ve never thought of is such a delightful feeling. As you can see, most people are saying there’s ZERO oud in here, well, technically that may be true because there’s literally no oud listed as a note but keep in mind that the perfume was still intended to mimic the feel + smell of oud in an impressionism typa way (cute!) which is why it’s still there and yes u will notice it as it develops on ur skin like u WILLLLL pick up some indolic and rotting oud-y nuances in here but be thankful bc it does not translate to an overt “oud, OUD” stench but more of an intentional skank that perfectly complements the ambery-sweet concoction. It’s like a freshly roasted boozy fermented cacao pods—a decadent and rich coat of velvety dark chocolate thickness. Umm is this supposed to be Minnie’s Special Chocolate Pie from The Help? Probably! 😭 What I love about this perfume is you really get to experience a lot of the different notes in its fragrance pyramid like it’s one of a rideeeee. Upon initial spray it starts with a hefty dose of sweet and creamy antique vanilla powder which fools you into thinking that it could be ur linear spiced vanilla bomb but yipeeeee !! no. As it develops, you’ll start smelling a masculine touch of salty black pepper that could either resemble a freshly cracked pepper on a warm tray of sugar-free brownie cookies or someone’s briny sweat (definitely the cumin) amplifying his/her vanilla perfume. Gosh the black pepper is quite STRONGGG when it starts peeking through and it sticks around for a few minutes unlike some perfumes with a pepper note that doesn’t last longer than a fart. During its pepper phase, the perfume is masculine-leaning but it slowly shifts to a more unisex scent as the pepper note fades into the background. Weirdly enough, this perfume starts feminine-leaning with the vanilla bomb but manages to do a clutch in the latter part and proceed to cater every person (like I said it’s one of a ride). This perfume is a great interpretation of the word “androgynous” because I can see any gender rocking it. Back to what I was saying, after the peppery phase, the lipsticky iris peeks through for a while but is quickly overshadowed by the deeper and earthier notes which gets more bitter and dominant in its later stages. It’s been 6 hours since I last wore it and the leather + patchouli is the most prominent notes, oh and yes they are 👹LEEATHHHERR and PAATTCHOULLI👹 BUT THANKFULLYY THERE’S VANILLA IN THIS, so the bitterness is tamed by it making it coffee grounds-esque. Tl;dr is starts off as a chocolatey spiced vanilla powder bomb, develops a fizzy cola effervescence that quickly becomes a savory pepper kick then lipstick-y iris greets you for a minute, as the iris note disappears it fully dries down to a bittersweet mudpie of leather and patchouli—creamy vanilla being the most prominent note as it’s present from start to finish !! This perfume is an easy 10 for me bc it’s up my alley. It’s got some complexity and a touch of mass appeal that makes it less offensive to generic and crowd-pleaser lovers but remains contained or reserved towards validation. Telling by the perfumes people voted as “similar,” I know it could be duping M7, Ambre Sultan, and Opium Pour Homme but I found this scent similar to Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale 🫶🏻 there were also some times where taking whiffs of it would catch me off-guard and think that I’m wearing CK Reveal for women but it’s actually not 😭 it’s the smell of iris and black pepper that gives them quite the resemblance !! Edit: I also pick up the play-doh note someone mentioned and I LOVE THE SMELL OF PLAY-DOH SO YAY

The first moments of wearing Niche Oud greet you with a rich resin laced with dominant warm spices, accented by hints of bay leaf, evoking a cozy, autumnal vibe. You'll detect a subtly smoky undercurrent reminiscent of temple incense, and I can feel a touch of booze, too. Something like a black cherry runs through my mind — someone already mentioned it in the comments, so it must be true. It's smooth from the start — a well-blended fragrance that builds on the opening linearly yet seamlessly. A creamy, ambery vanilla heart emerges, accented by hints of dirty patchouli that I might mistake for tobacco. I can tell these are surprisingly far from the flat compositions you sometimes find at this price point. If you were to swap the slightly bitter spices for green tea, the structure of that vanilla-leather accord would be closest to Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight in Paris. Performance is excellent — I can still subtly feel it after 12 hours. Projection is generous at first — think warm glow filling three rooms — but it settles into a discreet sillage that hugs the wearer. Just carry a small spray decant with you to re-ignite that initial resinous blast on a late-night out. Although pitched as masculine, my girlfriend wore it with me today, and I think it works fine for women as well. She also found it entirely wearable. What definitely shocks me is the wide discrepancy in reviews; many people describe it completely differently from one another and some of them make good points even if their description is way different from what I experience. In fact, as someone suggested, I'll use this as a home spray — it gives off a professional home office library vibe: leather-bound volumes and polished wood. A couple of minor drawbacks: the bottle's design is at most average, and I have another from this collection (Black Onyx) with a much better sprayer. This one is hard to click, and the cap is difficult to remove. At least the clouds are big and even. Superb quality for the price I paid (€18). It's best saved for colder weather, though it won't hurt to wear in spring. If you're chasing that niche-style amber-woody vibe on a budget, this is one of the best alternatives out there I tried — feels like autumn caught in resin and, remember, oud in its name makes an impression... by its absence. I tried my best not to make this review sound like others I've written, but this smells so much like a leveled mix of many fragrances of the same strain (still ends up unique). This is the only Armaf Niche fragrance I have bought and tried so far. There are some important facts about this Armaf line of perfumes: - The probable ending of the Armaf tacky bottles. I believe I don't shock anybody if I comment that Armaf has produced some of the ugliest fragrance flasks of the perfume industry. - It seems that producing clones will not be the aim of this Armaf niche line, although I position this fragrance half way between Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens and 1996 Inez & Vinoodh by Byredo. - The fragrance quality is well above average. I like oud scents! I also like leather, vanilla, pepper and amber accords. This scent seems to be a potpourri of my preferred notes. Till some months ago I felt important to impose my opinion of sniffing an oud note in this perfume. That does not matter any longer for me. I smell an oud accord, stronger in the opening and heart and I am happy with it. I don't care if it is a leather blend with cedar and pepper that may suggest the agarwood scent or not. I smell oud (period). It's not an over animalic oud, it does not smell like a barnyard or wrotten carcasses. It's quite well behaved and it works like a bunch of spices aiming to emphasize the smell of fancy food in a Michelin star rated restaurant. The pepper, the leather, the vanilla and the amber notes are really amplified in this fragrance. The blending becomes very smooth without harming the fragrance strength or its performance. Leather, supported by vanilla and amber, end up to be the key accord during the very pleasant and long drydown. Comments on the fragrance development: It opens with strong spicy notes and quickly develops the oud scent that seems to be omnipresent at all stages. This fragrance smells like having an oud note or accord, although no oud note is listed. This very present oud lingers around, along with the cedar note. This wood accord is fantastic and is persistant in all development stages and during the early drydown. Black pepper is easily detectable some minutes after the spraying, as well a faint leather scent that evolves into a strong but friendly and almost sweet leather note, coexisting with a highly praised patchouli. The dry down is very plesant with the fading wood/oudish scent, surrounded by the enduring leather and a captivating mellow amber sweetened by vanilla, From the initial 3 sprays till the fainting skin scent after 8 hours, we get a very pleasant notes evolution. The blending does not produce any harsh situations and really does not fool you by making you smell the pleasuring "phantom" oud note. The heavy bottle is nice and easy to hold. If you like, as I do, to dispose my flasks by brand, you will pity the odd "containers" of Craze and La Marque Brune fragrances side by side with this nice Oud Niche flask.

I own a few Lattafa's and Armafs, honestly I think Armaf's quality and performance outshines Lattafas by a decent margin. For instance Armaf's Niche Oud is absolutely GORGEOUS and can rival many actual "Niche Fragrances." Also Armafs Milestone (Millesime Imperial clone) is just outstanding and has garnered me SO MANY compliments, its practically GUARANTEED that if Im wearing Milestone, imma get a compliment, and Nich Oud is no different! Armaf's fragrances linger long after I think they're completely gone and I manage to get compliments up to 8 hours AFTER initial application at times which is REALLY RARE with all of todays RE-DONCULOUS, aweful-reformulations! Yo even actual "Niche Houses" are reformulating their ultra expensive fragrances! For example Armafs Milestone is being compared to what the OG Millesime Imperial was like before reformulations atleast as far as performance goes! Now there are some pricer fragrances for which I am unwilling to get a clone for bc I dont want to sacrifice ANY aspect or beauty of the Original's. Fragrances like Tom Ford's Black Orchid is STILL a stellar performer since its been reformulated and ya just cannot get that deep, natural, Lingering-earthy Choclatey Patchouli from a clone so I got the OG. My point is that IF these Niche or High end designer houses don't want us to opt for Clones/Dupes vs their CRAZY-EXPENSIVE originals, then they need to just DUU-BETTAH! If these clone houses manage to Re-create a pricey dna with superb longevity/performance then why can't these Hoyti-Toyti A$$ houses maintain their performance as well? And dont give me that "IFRA excuse" bc the Clone/Dupe houses follow the same standards for IFRA! Anyhow, enough with my rant/venting.. Armaf's Niche Oud is freaking AH-MAZING! Its so balanced and has this underlying brightnesss which dances around the rich opulent Amber note. Man, this REALLY is just a beautiful "Expensive smelling fragrance! An EASY 9 outta 10 scent! I blind bought this fragrance and it was delivered today. On first spray, it's not bad. This is more of an amber and spices kind of scent with vanilla, a typical cold weather frag. Although its name has Oud on it, I smell nothing here to my surprise but was really looking for it. But I can pick up the Patchouli that probably gives off that faint earthy vibe especially when I put my nose closer to my skin. Good thing, this scent is not offensive or barnyard smelling. It's mild to my nose but I hope I didn't get anosmic right away, since most folks rated this as long lasting with good projection. It's actually a pleasant and yet interesting scent. It's warm and comforting which is more appropriate for cooler weather. It has a tiny bit of everything to compare to some fragrances that's why its hard to describe this scent. However, during the first few minutes, it somehow reminds me of Amber Sultan and Grand Soir. Let me give this some full wearing and update my review since there is something in here that's kind of interesting to me especially as it dries down. Brb folks! Update: Oh man, I really love this one. This is not a loud fragrance but absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for fall and winter. Someone below mentioned it’s similarity to TF Tobacco Oud which I certainly agree 😉 but I imagined it’s a more subtle and a little fruitier version. I also thought it has a similarity to Creed Royal Oud and again, a watered down and a little fruitier version. This frag has a multiple personality that’s why I love it. It is really niche quality to my nose at a reasonable price. I love the bottle as well. 10/10 “Let's spread the scents of peace and kindness. The two most beautiful fragrance in the world that will cost you nothing and will get you a totally different kind of compliments” 🙏

Oh man, so I did a TON of research on Armaf Niche Oud bc I've amassed over 100 fragrances (WAYY too many), yet I didn't have an "Amber Woody" scent I was happy with. I do own Hard Wood by Fragrance World which smells amazing, but has very poor projection imo, and actually sorta reminds me of Niche Oud although the Armaf smells better I think, and the "Inscence note" I can clearly pick up smells like the clean type of incense and actually makes Niche Oud smell quite smokey imo. In reading a lot of the reviews here on Fragrantica, I see that a bunch of folks are getting notes that are NOT in the notes list, notes such as Tobacco and Myrhh?, I guess my phantom note is "inscense" lol! It just goes to show how well blended and nuanced this thing is.. Impressive! The quality here is truley amazing and it transitions very nicely, and that gorgeous dry down is so nice! Really just smells like a "Niche Ambery fragrance with Niche quality. The Vanilla isn't too heavy or prominent which I actually appreciate. Definately a fall/winter fragrance which I don't recommend over-spraying bc the performance is around 8 hours and much longer on closthes, so it can be too much bc it is very ambery and a touch powdery which can be too cloying if over-done. An 8 outta 10 fragrance imo and for $35, a total NO-BRAINER for Amber lovers! This is a 9 outta 10 fragrance. Thanks to whomever took the time to read my review😉

Batch 02/ 2020 Armaf Niche Oud , the name has oud in it , but doesn't contain oud in the fragrance itself . it can be best described as a smooth , non harsh , spiritual , divine scent . I'm not gonna compare this to any other fragrance . While coming to the notes and Breakdown . In the opening I get that burnt rubber kind of smell with some smoky amber . after the top notes go away , which would be around 15-20 mins . The smooth combination of vanilla , caraway , and amber comes in , which creates this divine Aura around you . This lasts until the fragrance dies down in 12hrs . Silage - 3 feet longevity - 12hr projection - 3 - 4 hrs weather - Winter or fall quality - Above average is it worth the price ?- 10/10 considering the presentation , NICHE QUALITY who is this for ? The age group of 20+ can pull this off . But you have to be in certain mood to wear this . This is a beautiful composition , Best suited for prayer times and reading books . This fragrance has lot of character for the price . Definitely not mass appealing , but you can get some amazing compliments . Like " You smell different " , " This smell is so calming " . Go for it if you wanna smell divine and high class . or if You wanna smell like a temple or mosque . It takes time to grow on you , don't blind buy . overall - 9/10 . One of my personal enjoyment .

Never smelled real Oud, so I can't say how this approximates that. I do know that the vast majority of Oud flavored designer scents don't contain actual Oud though, so that's not a knock. I do get that note scent profile I get in M7 minus the cough syrup vibe. This is more in the vein of a warm resinous wood. People that are saying amber are close, but I still get an amber almost wood resin. I actually love this scent. I don't have a ton of experience with Oud, but M7 and Oud Wood, but I'd think this smells more deep and woody than either of those. I absolutely love this Niche line from Armaf because they are scents that stand out, and are top tier quality. Even though Platinum, and White Diamonds are more wearable, especially in the Summer, as people pleasers or high quality, this one is my guilty pleasure fave of the bunch. I just love the strength and dark wood smell this conveys. Probably want to try before you buy though because it's a bit on the daring side. Not too much, but enough to make sure you want something like this before you go in blind. It's a heavy amber resin wood smell. It's really good, but not generic or in the model of modern convention. I'd find more situations to wear this than M7, but think of it as certainly as a comparable type of frag.

Spicy, Savoury & Sweet AMBER-LEATHER-VANILLA with Illusion of Incense. I'm not sure why this is called "oud". It should be called "amber" imho. In the first couple of minutes before the spray dries, I get a savoury ham-y amber. Once the spray dries and the sillage starts to open up, it changes directions from the savoury ham-y amber into a sweeter spicy amber. In the heart I get a lovely illusion of incense from the pepper-cedar-iris combination. As it dries down, it envelops everything in a warm amber-vanilla-leather punctuated by the illusion of incense and this is the bulk of the wearing experience. In oversimplified terms, it's like a thin layer Ambre Sultan Serge Lutens over a sweeter amber like Grand Soir Maison Francis Kurkdjian. This has excellent performance for year-round wear but I would be most likely to wear it during cooler months. Contrast to Ambre Sultan Serge Lutens: These are different, but there are similarities, especially in the openings, with warm savoury amber. Ambre Sultan has a more forward savoury bay leaf, while Oud Armaf is sweeter with an incense illusion. Both have above average performance. Overall: gorgeous, complex traditional amber with a nice sweetness and a near-incense accents. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

I sprayed it this morning before looking at the notes. Oud is not listed and that is strange to me. Not because of the name but because I totally get western oud from this. The opening seemed light but 5 minutes in and it was kickin. Right now a little over an hour and I am getting some oud and vanilla. The western oud I am getting could very well be the cedar with vanilla and smoothed out with the amber. To me this is a standard oud vanilla amber mix with some leather and patchouli. It is a little spicy too. So far it is better than expected. If it performs well I would recommend it at this price point for sure. Note I do not get Jubilation XXV at all. Not even a little! Amber Sultan I do get that similarity More to come Update I got a good 6 hours before this is starting to sit close to the skin. I can still smell it on my clothes and the wife could smell it when she was close. This is 11 hours in. So pretty good performance Don't get me wrong here. I have sampled several true oud oils and this is not that! It does however smell of the western oud most of us recognize as oud. It remained smooth a sweet with some spice. If you can find this at $35-$40 US I say it is worth a shot.

It opens with a slight citrusy-bergamot note, accompanied by warm spices in the background. The citrus-bergamot quickly fades and transforms the composition into a ambery fragrance enriched with strong, warm oriental spices. My first associations were cinnamon and honey. Within a minute, the sweetness of vanilla takes the lead. The composition of vanilla, cinnamon, honey, and oriental spices creates a rich, creamy, and delicious texture—without being offensive. Quite simply, it is addictive.Thanks to its moderate inoffensive DNA, it won’t overwhelm those around you. In fact, people nearby may not even notice it at first—but those lucky enough to come close will, and they may become addicted too. Its subtle, inoffensive character makes it even more addictive. The dry-down is the true masterpiece—heavenly with vanilla. You get the warm feeling of crackling wood in an old fireplace. The name "Oud" is misleading. There is no actual oud. A more fitting name would be "Armaf Amber" The packaging of this fragrance for the price is second to none. In terms of price-to-quality ratio, phenomenal.

I left a review back in July. The resinous accords had me thinking myrrh was a dominant player here, but after wearing Patchouli from Reminiscence side by side...it's the patch that my nose is easily picking up. Obviously, it's been several months since I purchased this bottle, so it's settled quite a bit. With it being winter now, it will get a lot more wears. The longevity is about 7.5 to 8.5 hours. Projection is pretty strong for the first 1.5 to 2 hours...then gradually starts to pull back in. The silage is pretty noticeable with this one. I really enjoyed the wearing experiences I've had so far. To my nose, I get a strong dose of patchouli to the point of almost smelling like myrrh...that could be the other spices as well. I also get amber and black pepper. I get ghosts of leather, woods, and vanilla. A really sneaky good scent from Armaf here. If you like darker scents, resinous type of fragrances...at least entertain a sample. Projection: 8 Silage: 8 Longevity: 8 Scent: 8.5 Price: 10 Overall: 8.5

I don't know what it clones, I just know I love it. I'm gonna be honest... I mainly use it in my home office as a "room scent". I spray one squirt on the carpet in the morning, and it lingers all day - it makes the office smell like a manly library, full of leather-bound, interesting books. It's too heavy to wear in the Spring, IMO. This is a late fall/winter scent only. It is deep and rich. It smells more complex and pleasant than perfumes 8x its price. I've never smelled anything like it, and I don't know the perfumes that people rate above. I would put it in the category of TF Tobacco Oud or Ombre Leather - but far more enjoyable IMO. I would also put it in the category of TF Oud Wood, but it doesn't smell like TFOW (OW is a "Hall of Fame" scent). Oud Armaf is a great buy for anyone who enjoys a dark, but sweet leather/vanilla/amber.

Whereas I know when or where I would use most of the fragrance I blind-bought, I am still not sure where i can use this one. The prominent scent that I get after it settles down is like whiskey/rhum and smoke. Maybe I can use it if I get invited to some club where everyone has liquor in one hand and pipe on the other. Update: Trying it again after about a week, I think I am starting to kinda like it. It has an uncommon but interesting scent. Some reviewers mentioned that it got better after a month, so I will revisit it again in a few more weeks Another update: Trying it again after a month or so, I now like it a lot. I wore this on a suit and I like how it projects (it has good projection but no note is overpowering or cloying). I am going to try and see if I can wear this casually.

#361 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Okay, it's been a minute since I wore Serge Lutens. This fragrance sure brings back fond memories, and happily the profile remains contemporary. I stopped wearing Ambre Sultan back in the nineties. Not really sure why, as it's a 100% signature worthy scent, one of the best ever produced. Probably there was a woman involved. Anyway this Armaf fragrance has brilliantly captured its spirit of confident manliness at one third the price. My skin's itching a bit, I think because the Arabs use so much alcohol in these frags that they dry my skin out. If that turns out to be a passing problem I will feel compelled to order every men's scent in the Niche line. If the rest are even close in scent quality and performance they should be fantastic buys!

butifull. And niche quality. this is sweet with hint of leather and wood behind it just a hint ..it also has a little burnt rubber note, remmind me of swiss arabian kalimat but for 10 minutes. Very very smooth relaxing scent and warm scent. has a little metallic note. defenetly a step up for armaf. butifull blind buy . Only After the 10th hour Its starting to be quiet and fading For 9 hours its still strong on my skin and leaves a Trail. I fell in love with this one after 3 days when I began to understand it. This is a jam a brilliant perfume I'm gonna stock on that one. Its now very hot in my country and humid 35 Celsius and 60%- 70% humid. Its good no problem and I feel That in winter and fall it would be ideal of course I recommend this with all my heart ..enjoy

This stuff is fantastic. I was a little cautious, as this was made before the "French Avenue" side of Armaf had been formed, and have really been doing some fabulous recreations. This does not smell like a $30 fragrance, and is very well blended, and has great performance. I can smell the Ambre Sultan in this, as well as the Ambre Nuit from Dior without question. I have no idea if maceration makes this better or stronger, as I just got it, and it smells amazing out of the box. I would say that this is close enough to Ambre Sultan that I wouldn't feel the need to purchase the OG.. And I think the Armaf has better performance all the way around. This will be going into the fall/winter rotation without question. 8.5 out of 10

I just ordered a bottle. Can't wait to try it. As with Armaf Club de Nuit Milestone, I'm anticipating that the fragrance will need to macerate. I couldn't smell milestone for the first three weeks. Then, magically, it turned into an all-day, fruity/salty beast. Perhaps I won't overreact upon first sniff? Updates in time... First impression: not beast mode. Definitely a sexy-ass scent. Lots of spices, amber and vanilla. The iris has a way of hanging around the edges of the vanilla. Patchouli is also a part of the mix. I like it...reminds me of Bentley for Men Intense, but sweeter and less aggressive. I'll update again in a few weeks with a slightly-aged bottle. One month later: smells like the holidays.

Masterpiece! I am madly in love with this perfume, It is definitely amber dominant, it is like Grand soir mixed with oud wood, unbelievable! I am wearing it now, and since it had its time to set, I can smell amber, woodiness and spice. Very warm and projects like a beast, I just applied 2 sprays and my whole room smells like it😍 From a distance you can smell something aromatic, almost like if you took a good shower and sprayed amber on, very very beautiful and smells very expensive, I am genuinely impressed 😍 Also, I would say this perfume is perfect for winter, you also can layer it with perfumes that has defined oud notes, or perfumes that have cinnamon and cloves🤤

As I got into the 3 digit number of perfumes I rearlly if ever get surprised by a fragrance. I was sceptical at this but in my latest hall, this and Brut original really surprised me with their aroma. This is great and I love it. Many say that this doesn't have an oud note, but if you smelled enough western oud fragrances you will get that feeling that it's there but way in the back, the western oud note that is mostly composed of citrus and spice, you get that acidic feel from it. The amber is much more pronounced. This smells like the deep deep dry down of Bentley for man intense, it's creamy in a good way, ambery and a bit acidically spicy. A great frag

Incredible. This stuff is incredible. Much more of a deep, balsamic amber than it is being credited for. No oud in the breakdown, as has already been beaten to death here. We know. But, the blend somehow manages to 'simulate' an oudiness through its construction. This is so fantastic. I put this squarely in the ballpark of fragrances like ambre sultan, noir ambre, costume national soul, and maybe even a little bit of grand soir. This is so good. Performance is very good, as well. And for the price, it can't really be beat. If you love ambers, and have a few bucks burning a hole in your pocket, this might be a good addition to your collection.

My favourite in the Armaf Niche line is Sapphire but Oud is equally good. For £30/$40 this is a quality fragrances and it is simulator to Aramis Calligraphy Rose. I have about 25 Aramis scents in my collection and nobody does copies of Aramis fragrances. However, this is close to Calligraphy Rose. That is a really beautiful and awesome fragrance that is cheap by far but Armaf Niche Oud is excellent and really nice smelling scent. Two or three sprays is enough to keep you smell good for up to 10-12hrs! 8 out of 10 for an all around Great buy👍👌😊❕!

Spencescents (below) nails the review. Fantastic juice. Blended really well. I’ve not smelled SL Ambre Sultan to make a comparison, but I’m not getting the similarities with a few other scents listed above. I do get slight PdM Herod vibes, but it’s still dissimilar. Let’s not talk about the atomiser. The geezer who designed it must’ve knocked off early. Worst atomiser I’ve had the displeasure of repeatedly pressing. Absolutely bollocks. Thumb cramps ahead. Nice juice, though 👍🏻

Bright bergamot and a touch of caraway at the opening make this feel fresh yet distinctive. The amber base is warm but never sweet, giving the whole composition balance and elegance. Quality feels surprisingly high for the price, smooth and well-blended. Projection is solid, people notice it, though longevity could definitely be better as it fades faster than I’d like on skin. Still, it’s refined, versatile, and smells more expensive than it is. Solid 7.5/10 in my book.

This is lovely with a fantastic all round performance. Starts spicy and floral, dries down spicy, amber and vanilla with some background dry cedar. There is a boozy note in there too. The dry down is a lot like Jaguar Oud with more florals. The Jaguar is sweeter though. Armaf Niche Oud is presented in lovely packaging and bottle. It's the silage that's the best part, a lovely smooth woody leather with spices. Got this blind but I am very satisfied with this Armaf.

I've always regretted blind buying Bentley Intense, it pushed way too much sharpness that made it unwearable for me, This niche oud got the same vibe but waay more balanced, a smoother version and truly smells classy, It is really niche unlike Bentley's messy aggressive mashup of notes. Also for those who are wondering, no this is not a Conjuring scary oud :) actually I don't know why Oud is in the label. it's more Spicy Ambery. 8/10 overall

This scent is comforting as a true and sincere conversation 1-1 with a good friend by a fireplace at midnight. A person you could tell everything you feel and he will understand you and support you even in the hardest time. I love to smell it as a form of aromatherapy. Got this for equivalent of ~25 usd/eur so the price ratio is fabulous. It could stain bright clothes if sprayed from too close so watch out.

Hidden gem from armaf. Opening is a little synthetic but the dry down is really good. Smells like sitting in a cabin near a fire with a fur animal rug on the ground and drinking a vintage alcohol in the winter. Does not remind me at all like Bentley for men intense as some have said. Does actually smell niche. Very good for the price. And I have a 2023 batch and the performance is great.

How isn't anyone picking up this myrrh note? I got a sample of this from a local shop and I get a strong note of myrrh from this. It could be the patchouli and amber playing tricks on my nose, but I get a stout myrrh. Typically, I'm not a fan of myrrh, but this fragrance has made me reconsider. Very spicy opening and resinous mid, love it! Full bottle on the way.

First things first, it does not smell synthetic at all. It smells like an actual Niche fragrance. Very well blended. Secondly, it has Oud in the beginning and then it goes into the background, Lol. Its a warm spicy amber fragrance which to be honest smells gorgeous to me. The people hating on this perfume are ridiculous. #worthit

I got this scent because an acquaintance of mine had it and I had always wondered what it was. He finally told me so I picked up a bottle. When I smelled it on him (drydown), it was almost like a bubble gum type scent to my nose. However, when you first open the bottle and take a whiff, it smells just like an incense stick.

I love Ambre Sultan it is so good, addictive but also expensive, I have bought Oud out of curiosity since it comes at a fraction of the OG price. At first it is not even close to Ambre Sultan. it just isn't but after some minutes it comes close, quite close. So if you can't afford the OG this is a very solid alternative!!

Absolutely amazing this is a complete upgraded version of bentley intense this has so much spice and leather the pepper and caraway in the opening, with the heavy amber vanilla dry down just makes this a killer men's winter, fall, night time scent. I'd wear it anytime cause it smells so good with great performance 100/10

After owning around 90 perfumes and trying hundreds, this is the one that every time i wear i get compliments and inquiries. I think it is a spicy amber with good dose of vanilla in the base. I have found similarities with ambre sultan specially in the top and mid stages.

Safe blind buy, if you are looking for a manly but beautiful scent. It can be scary in its opening, it smells like jägermeister in its opening. The dry down is very good, vanilla, amber, bergamot. I got many compliments. Insanely good performance for the price.

I am comparing this to my original Ambre Sultan. Excellent dupe, it smells like AS...but lighter. I don't know how the new AS smells, so I can't compare that. A true Amber standard! So sultry, intoxicating 🤤🤤🤤

Amber with some spice! This is pretty close to ambre sultan in my opinion. Some sort of herbal/bay leaf note in there somewhere, but the warmness of the amber dominates. Smells luxurious!

Encre noir extreme vibe with a litle The One . Next day on t-shirt is Tobacco Oud . Excelent quality , 3 dimensional from Encre Noir with The One vibe to Tobacco wood .

Update.....A very potent and distinctive perfume with an attention grabbing silage. The dry down is the best part - a woody floral chocolate vibe. I love it.

30% Mitzah Dior, 30% Coromandel Chanel, 30% Ambre Sultan Lutens, 10% Bentley absolute. Amber oriental/spicy, low cost. Many congratulations to Armaf, 8,5/10

Excellent sweet oud aroma without being too much sweetness but enough to balance off the wood smell.Great value and excellent presentation box.

This smells very similar to Tom Ford Tobacco Oud! It's great! the projection and longevity are not great though

TL;DR A soft, gentle, traditional amber, with a strand of leather. Mild, warm, fug. Modest projection. A shared aromachem from the new formulation of Guerlain Patchouli Ardent. Just as the Guerlain doesn't smell of patchouli, so this doesn't smell of oud at all . Which is why I bought it. It does not obviously or explicitly smell like Grand Soir or Ambre Sultan. They're just all ambers. ============== What a curious gem this is - a real surprise. This shows that Middle Eastern houses are capable of real subtlety - they absolutely are not just making bombastic big hitters and clones. Armaf Niche Oud does not smell 'like' other scents, except that it belongs to the traditional amber family. Fans of this genre of scent will, I think, enjoy it a lot. It reminds me of many of them - Bastide Ambre Maquis, Ortigia Ambra Nera, Villoresi Ambra, Grand Soir (though there's no sweetness in this) - but it does not obviously resemble any one of them. They're just all ambers. Its most distinctive "add-on" to the amber structure is a leather note. So, if you like amber and leather, this is a no brainier. It has as a foundation whatever aromachem provides the spine to the recent reformulation of Guerlain's Patchouli Ardent. If you know what that is, please message me! Most curious of all, there is not one single atom of oud in this anywhere - something other viewers have commented on, and one of the things that made me buy it for a mighty £20 delivered. It opens as a warm, gentle spiced amber, very much in the European tradition (not the Middle-Eastern), and as it dries down, a leather comes into play. It is a mild, soothing, breathing scent - not at all a 'big hitter'. You could easily go on a car journey with someone wearing this - something that cannot be said for most designers in the parfum/elixir trend, or many Middle Eastern 'powerhouse' scents. It may even be too subtle, too short lived. It very much does not lend itself to the sorts of note breakdowns that many contemporary scents do: it is aiming at 'warm spicy fug' and 'warm spicy fug' is exactly the target it hits. Ambers as a class only really offer inflections, reinterpretations of a tradition, rather than 'look at our new aromachem' extravaganzas. The only distinctive note beyond the 'amber accord' spine running through this gem is leather - something commented on frequently in others' reviews. My only real criticism of is that it doesn't project, or really last, except as a skin scent. People way back down the reviews say they don't know when to wear it. There is a solution to this. Put in on when you get up. Wear it everywhere. Seriously, there are people wearing Pasha Parfum, Sauvage Elixir, and Penhaligons Fantastic Mr Poshboy Gaw Blimey Me Beads Parody of Olde Englande out there, right now, roaming the community and nobody is doing anything about it. This delicate, classic gem will be a mercy to everyone. It comes in a box in a box, with velour, and gold and... well, it's not my cup of tea, though I appreciate the effort to make it feel 'nichey' and also 'land-fill-y'. The lid on the bottle, though, is so hard to get on and off that it is just irritating.

I picked this bottle up tonight for the first time in ages because we had committed to going out on a night that turned out cold, wet and windy. The place we were going is not allowing people indoors except to use restrooms. So I was anticipating a cold, uncomfortable environment (sadly, I was basically right) and I wanted a warm, comfortable scent to help me through. Armaf Niche Oud is exactly what I needed tonight. It is a warm, comfortable amber fragrance. The scent's name is half accurate and half misleading. The quality here is excellent, the blending very good and, surprisingly from a house most known for clones, the composition is very much it's own thing. So absolutely "niche" in every way except price. "Oud", on the other hand, is barely present at all here. There is a trace of a dirty, cherry smelling oud here right after the fragrance hits skin, then any trace of oud exits after about 5 minutes along with the bergamot that joins it in the early top notes. So not really an oud fragrance, then. But in the absence of oud, what you get is a blend of warm spices including some cinnamon, cardamom and clove among other notes. Joining the spices is a pepper note and some green sage. The pepper hangs around as the warm, woody middle notes emerge. The heart here has a creamy iris added to the woods rounding out the fragrance and adding an intriguing contrast with the lingering spice from the opening. This iris note leads the way into a warm vanilla focused amber accord in the base of the scent. This amber wraps itself around the wearer like a warm, comforting blanket. Eventually, as the dry down comes to its finale, there is a vaguely animalic leather accord which might conceivably be oud coupled with something, but might also be just a couple of synthetics playing off one another. There is also a cleaned-up patchouli which adds to the overall warmth of the fragrance. This is a great cold weather scent that smells like it cost vastly more than Armaf ask for it. Better still, this fragrance is often available deeply discounted. So what we have here, folks, is a screaming bargain. The presentation is very nice and deviates markedly from the house's usual exercises in tastelessness. This is a unisex scent although the base notes lean towards the masculine side of the spectrum. There is nothing here that I can imagine putting a woman off Niche Oud. So, if you want an oud-forward fragrance, this isn't it. But if you want a really good scent for fall and winter evenings and you want to get a great deal when you purchase it, look no further than this remarkably good product from Armaf.

For what it's priced at, it smells like it's worth much more. It smells like a sweeter sibling of "Shades Wood" by Armaf. This has a rich, distinct smell layered with spicey accords upfront and a creamy smoother dry-down. The opener can come across as a bit harsh and overly synthetic, so I'd like to say that the dry down is a lot more welcoming and pleasing than the opener. I second "Nick453" below who says it smells like Jubilation XXV Man by Amouage. I would say about a 90% similarity. Although I do not personally own Jubilation XXV I know someone who does so I can confidently confirm that. Some may disagree. I own both the parfume spray as well as the body spray. Even the body spray smells great and has lasting power which I was able to grab at a local mall. But it's hard to find online. This is one of those scents that obviously only works in cold and mildly cold weather. Not recommended for even the slightest warm or hot weather as it will be offputting and way too bursty in the anamalic realm. I'm also not sure if the oud in this is genuine though. Maybe an imitation of oud. My initial rating would be a 7.5 out of 10 just off of scent and performance alone, but for its price point and niche quality, it gets a bump up to a 9 out of 10. It's actually pretty good and it WILL grow on you.

Mine just arrived today, about an hour ago. As per my usual routine, I spritz me a few (8-10), then, put it away for a month, allow whatever maturation to do its thing. But, as one always utilizes this opportunity in order to gain first impressions of their acquisition, I will offer this take-away: I'm not gonna lie...I could see this one being a "love". It's easily a "like", right out the box, for me. And, I see a couple of reviews referring to it as "subtle", as "very weak". Of course, only having just sprayed it, I'll give it time, before I speak any further on its performance/longevity/sillage, however, unless it just dives off a cliff at some point soon, I can't agree with those assessments. Again, on skin truly is different than having just spritzed it in the air, but, I've done this enough times that I'm feeling confident in, at the least, being able to tell the difference between weak, strong, and, shades of in-between, and, from what it's showing me thus far, at worst, it might fall somewhere in that in-between category. I do look forward to returning, updating this, once I've had opportunity to let it mature, wear it out, see what it's hittin' for. I must admit, though, I'm hyped, expecting compliments & other good things from Armaf Niche Oud.

Despite the name, there is no Oud either in the pyramid or noticeably in the aroma of this frag. It is a semi-sweet vanilla/spicy/amber concoction with an overall moderately dark tone. The packaging is more niche than the juice. It does look nice. Projection/sillage are weak. Longevity is middling. This one strikes me as pleasant enough, but nothing special. It seems to be constructed as a cuddle scent, and for that purpose it probably will do fine. A plus is that is does smell fairly natural, there's nothing sharp or screechy about it. Price point was $59.99 USD, so it could be a cheap alternative to niche offerings in the same ballpark (e.g. Guerlain SDV), though as a cheap alternative I would actually recommend Eau des Missions or 24 Gold over this.

I was sucked into the review that likened this to Jubilation XXV and bought blind as it was on offer.How wrong it turned out to be.From first spray all I got was a striking similarity to Ambre Sultan.I have tried Jubilation before though don't own yet and I cannot for the life of me see at what stage-not even drydown these two share any commonality. If Ambre Sultan is weaker and does not last or project well on you,then try this.This is a more rustic version to the smoother Luten's. I was disappointed I hadn't found a clone of Jubilation but can now use this as much as I want knowing I have a backup bottle albeit with a different name stashed away. Great buy for the price and scent
