Suger Oud Gold Edition

To me the oud is not laud enough 😂 It’s an easy oud for day wear, or to the ones that are not used to oud frags and want to start. The amber is quite prominent. It’s nice and sweet, no big deal. Very affordable.

The oud in it is LOUD! In my opinion. Staring to dislike it.

I bought this mostly out of curiosity. The price was low and the note breakdown looked interesting, but I honestly did not expect much. From the first few wears, it already felt far more luxurious than what I paid for. The overall vibe instantly reminded me of Dubai. Warm air conditioned spaces, gold interiors, and that sweet, rich scent trail you notice when someone well dressed walks past. The opening is sweet and fruity, with blueberry coming through clearly, paired with a soft hint of anise. It does not smell sharp or synthetic to me. It feels smooth and slightly syrupy, but not in a loud or juvenile way. As it dries down, the honey and amber start to take over, and this is where the fragrance really shines. The honey adds depth and warmth, while the cashmere wood and florals keep everything balanced so it never feels cloying. The base is my favorite part. The mix of amber, honey, and musk comes together into a creamy, slightly musky sweetness that feels rich and comforting. The oud presence is subtle and smooth, not animalic or harsh. It gives a Middle Eastern inspired richness without overpowering the rest of the composition, which makes it very wearable. One thing worth mentioning is maceration. I let this sit for about two to three weeks. Before maceration, it already smelled good. Afterward, the scent noticeably improved. The sweetness became smoother, the notes blended better, and the fragrance overall felt more refined and complete. Performance also improved. On my skin, I get around seven hours of longevity with good projection for the first couple of hours. It leaves a noticeable scent trail without being overwhelming if you control the sprays. This leans more toward evening wear, but it can work during the day if applied lightly. It shines best in cooler weather, air conditioned settings, or nights out when you want something that feels confident and put together. For the price, this is honestly impressive. It smells warm, polished, and far more expensive than it is. If you enjoy sweet, honeyed, musky, amber heavy fragrances with a smooth oud inspired character, this is an easy recommendation. Final thoughts. This is one of those affordable bottles that reminds you price does not always reflect quality. Give it some time to macerate, and it really comes into its own. It has earned a permanent place in my daily rotation since I can spray it without thinking of the price 😂
