Geisha Violet Roll-On Perfume Oil

I ordered a bottle of the Geisha Noir direct from Aroma M, and was thrilled when, along with my order, I received three sample bottles of some other Aroma M fragrances to try. Geisha Violet was one of them. My first thought, on application, was: green. The sharp but not unpleasant smell of freshly cut grass and crushed green leaves. That quickly settles, and the violet drifts up - not an overpowering sickly violet, but a shy, delicate violet that makes you want to sniff and sniff and sniff again. Not because it's faint, but because it's so lovely and ethereal - it's not in your face, but just sits there quietly smelling delicious. Three hours in, it's settling into a lovely, soft powdery scent - almost baby powder but not quite. Kind of like the big sister of baby powder: sweet, but, because she's growing up, not as sweet as full-on baby powder, with an unexpected kick of spice, and that delicate violet trailing behind. Lovely!

Sweet Violet and very strong bitter chocolate. It's almost more a chocolate fragrance than a violet one. I haven't decided how I feel about it yet. It's weird and not like any other violet scent I have tried. I let a friend smell it and she said, "Oh, yum, chocolate!" and didn't notice the violets until I pointed them out. I really love violets so I want them to be noticed in a fragrance. However, I find nose drawn to this when I wear it so I might buy it someday. I'm not sure how to describe the smell better than I have so you'll just have to try it yourself.

I saw Violet, Lotus, Lilac and Chocolate listed as notes elsewhere. Upon application, smelled very crisp and green. Lotus was the only note that really came through for me. Within 30 minutes of applying an entire 1mL sample, I couldn't smell anything. Gone. Poof. Can't really give it a good review because of the horrendous longevity. You'd think an oil would stick around a bit.
