Bold & Brisk

This was a blind buy on TSC. I absolutely LOVE it and get compliments every time I wear it (sadly, I'm down to the last few spritzes). I definitely intend to repurchase. It's a soft kind of brisk; not a jarring, in-your-face, sharp kind of brisk. I don't find it bold, but rather it's confident. It starts off as a fruity floral, all mandarin and cyclamen with just the slightest hint of saffron. It develops into a creamy, powdery spicy scent. I smell a sophisticated kind of patchouli with saffron and just the faintest hint of soft ginger. It's a very interesting mix indeed. It stays here for hours before I can smell the addition of musk to the mix. Sillage is somewhere between moderate on the verge of heavy and it's extremely long lasting.

It was a blind buy: bought it online in Sephora based on description. This fragrance is a true match to its name: it was too bold and too brisk for me. Too pepperish and too sweetish to my nose. Not too heavy sillage, but great longevity: stayed for good 12 hrs. on my skin. Will be an ideal scent for lovers of spicy notes.

This is my favourite of the Aromachology line. I remember they used to sell these in Sephora but I wasn’t sure which I liked most so I bought a set of miniatures from the Aromachology website. This must have been in about 2013. I seem to remember I found the “Totally Edible” a bit too lemony for my taste. “Clean & Fresh” was a bit too fresh for me but I did like it. I don’t remember what “Exotic & Spicy” was like. “Sophisticated & Sensual” I liked. It did match the name. I’m not normally into florals too much but there was something different and moreish about it. But this “Bold & Brisk” was my fave as it was Woody but with a lovely apple smell. I’d like to try these scents again. But I see from their website that they don’t ship to the UK (I was living in the US back when I bought them). Shame these aren’t more widely available or known about. They are interesting and I like the Aromachology concept. You can also buy a set from them in which to mix your own perfume.

This was a blind buy at tiny fraction of the retail price, and while it's not what I expected, being more of an upscale spa scent than a "brisk and bold" woody one, it's a very enjoyable. This is the kind of fragrance that, to my nose, feels more like a scented candle/oil diffuser/ambient scent, but as it turns out, I don't mind smelling like a posh sauna. I find myself spritzing my sheets with this because it's the kind of luxurious, clean smell that one wants to be enveloped in at night, but it's also fresh and lovely during the day while running errands, probably in yoga pants and a slubby linen top.
