Cafe Palo

I first smelled Café Palo at Glamcation and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with this scent. Idk what it is about it, but Café Palo is so addicting 😍😍😍 It’s sweet, calming, earthy but sexy at the same time. I get so many compliments wearing this. It’s also a wonderful base to layer with other fragrances - Lajolies2scents

I have several other Salazar fragrances and this is the only one that didn't work for me. It wasn't bad by any means, just one of those fragrances that didn't capture my attention. I love the notes used here individually but together I didn't. However, I gave it to my ex, who loved it. I didn't ask her to articulate why, but the first time she smelled it her eyes opened wide and she said "woooww!"

This one out the gate bites you as the Kaffir Lime smells just like it looks, quite bitter and rine-like. That semi-off-putting bitterness lasts about 3 or 4 mins in the opening then black currant & the bergamot take over and smooth the composition out somewhat. It remains that way for the next hour or so when the base notes come into play. This an interesting journey and is definitely for the wearer as opposed to those around to enjoy. The quality of the juice is apparent as it leaves a sheen on the skin after application. This is an "indy" fragrance to be sure and my sense is anyone enjoying this would need to be patient, have a mature nose, and an appreciation for the craft of perfumery.

Café Palo by Aromas de Salazar, now discontinued, is a spicy, somewhat fresh, nuanced, fittingly-named blend featuring palo santo and a pinch of coffee, not coffee-dominant, similar to the other Café-named fragrances in the house, in that respect. The curious blend features additional notes of lime, black tea, geranium, and woods, all of which fit together quite well, though I think the intersectional, gourmand-like blend in Café Fiesta is a little more pleasant, personally, but I like a lot of what is going on in Café Palo. 6 out of 10
