Charming Cherry

Aromas de Salazar Charming Cherry is a 2022 release that has a robust cherry note that’s blended with very elegantly, a bit gourmand but not clearly so, sweet and fruity but not entirely, with a significant floral heart of heliotrope and ylang ylang, accented further by almond, woods, resins, vanilla, and musk. I do still detect the extremes of the sweet maraschino cherry while those are counterbalanced significant by some of the other elements. I think gourmand lovers should try this out but it’s neither exclusively a gourmand itself nor exclusively for gourmand fans. It feels classy and refined all while being rich and high-performing, characteristics I’ve come to expect of the house. Bottles are currently sold out at the house site but samples are available, and the bottle pricing is $175 for 50ml, somewhere in the middle of the house’s pricing. 7 out of 10

This perfume seems to have a similar DNA to Orange Oudsicle, which is by no means a bad thing, however it does draw a pretty direct comparison between the two for me. This opens with a lovely cherry and almond start. A local bakery makes a cherry almond frosted financier (almond cake), the opening brings me the joy of taking that first bite. However, for me the sweet cherry and bright lime is fairly quickly lost, leaving behind that same Orange Oudsicle DNA of almond, heliotrope, vanilla, and oud. Which is lovely in its own right, but I can’t help but feel Orange Oudsicle does more with that DNA, both in performance and compositionally. If the cherry with the hint of lime stuck around longer I would be all over this, but unfortunately that is not the case. Still a beautiful perfume, I just find that Salazar’s Orange Oudsicle builds on this DNA better

Grateful to have been sent this to honestly review by Aromas de Salazar. I've worn it a number of times now to get a proper read on it. I'm someone who is swayed by reading the notes and decided to "forget" what was listed. My experience of Charming Cherry was one that was intentionally seductive. It's a voluptuous cherry in a push-up bra. There's some "Va-Va-Voom" here. The resins stand out to me. There's a radiation that's not easily ignored by those in close proximity. Definitely cherry throughout. Sort of a thick, dried cherry, in my opinion. Not candied or syrupy. Longevity is decent. Five to six hours in heat and humidity. Probably more in cold, dry weather. I appreciate the slight booziness. She's a bit tipsy, but she'll still beat you at cards.

more perfumes like this please! I appreciate the gourmand perfumes from this house as one of my friends stopped me in my tracks and said I smelled like a slice of a warm and heady cake, haha. What else could you want from a gourmand than to actually smell deliciously edible? The cherry and almond in this are so true and natural and very sensual and exotic smelling. This is a smoldering cherry if there ever was one, cooked down with some bitter almond that stays throughout. This was such an amazing blind buy for me (travel size). If you love blueberry morning, you will love this!

Smells good in the air but when sniffing it close to skin, the musks in the base have this screechiness quality to them. Wish this was better blended, because the musks make it smell cheap. Overall this had potential, but I'd reach for something like BDK Rouge Smoking before this

I'm normally not a cherry poison but this is pretty good and has a good balance of sweetness with pepper, Patchouli and woods It isn't an almondy cherry to my nose, it's unlike Lost Cherry which is overdone. This is unique
