Initial sprays of this "beast" of a fragrance greeted me with a surefire blast of Oud. Now, this oud is not the funky, barnyard fecal type, though I can just get faint hints of it in the background. This oud is so much more refined, smooth and elegant. The best way to describe it is like smelling a rich, chypre fragrance, the old geezer type, yet with a restrained power! Think 007...Sean Connery, not Peter Brosnon. What sets this one apart is that rich blend of three real types of oud: Cambodian, Prachin, and Indian. Each adds its own layer of complexity—woody, resinous, and earthy—but none of them dominate. Instead, they harmonize like seasoned jazz musicians, delivering a surprisingly refined and wearable oud profile that doesn't overpower but still commands respect. Rounded out with lush notes like May rose, oakwood, tobacco, and a whisper of whiskey, this fragrance manages to be both deep and smooth. It is linear, but it wears with confidence, offering phenomenal projection and longevity without coming off harsh or medicinal. That restrained power is real, one tester strip spray filled my room for a couple of days! As for gender, it's masculine alright, but I can see an older lady, with a very dominate and no nonsense lifestyle, wearing this too. Think of Clinique Aromatics Elixir without the harsh opening... Retail Price 250USD, My Cost, 225USD Final Verdict: Oud is My Love Language is classified as a woody aromatic that showcases a substantial amount of real oud in its overall oil composition. Wonderfully smooth, refined and elegant, it spoils the nose and educates those who thought they knew what "real" oud was! Projection and longevity are through the roof, though versatility is limited, cold weather more appropriate and leans toward nighttime use. In a world full of loud, screechy ouds, Oud is My Love Language whispers sweet nothings in your ear—and they smell fantastic! Joe Average take: Hahahaha! No real mention about the crazy cost of this one, huh? Holy beejesus folks, this one comes in at a heart attack inducing $15/ml. Don't get me wrong, the real oud in here is an experience beyond compare, but given that price tag, I couldn't recommend it for the average Joe!! The scent profile is a chef's kiss 10 out of 10, but my Joe A score considers cost. And that brings it down. Still, if you can even get your nose on a sample, you'll be a changed man, maybe grow some chest hair!! Score 9/10
