Vanillac Fantasy

I ordered 4 scents and out of the 4 this might be my favourite. It's a changing vanilla, it can go from gourmand to boozy dark and deep every other wiff and isn't an immature vanilla. It smells aged, like a good wine, a very thick, enveloping vanilla. Great quality and the house will be on my radar with their releases.

Sampling Aromas de Salazar Vanillac Fantasy, a sweet, spicy, floral vanilla with an ensemble of almond, jasmine, heliotrope, patchouli, tonka, birch, musk, and resins. It has a lot going on, too much for me effectively to sort out, but its intense mix merits attention and strikes me as fairly unique, quite raw, not subdued or suppressed it all, very intense. I get a bit of a cosmetic-type iris smell, so referential hints to say, Dior Homme Intense, or more feminine expressions, even, but this is still quite innovative and merits trying by fans of vanilla and vanilla-adjacent fragrances, I’d say. Overall this further adds diversity to the catalogue. Vanillac Fantasy is priced at $175 for 50ml, roughly in the middle of the catalogue, and is sold via the house website and Perfumology, quite reasonable for the performance, obvious quality, and innovation. 7 out of 10

This one was different for sure. It is a very masculine, smoky, black vanilla. The first notes I got were the birch tar and myrrh. Then it starts to mellow into a a beautiful, aged, vanilla elixir. It leans masculine but I love it.

A very unique vanilla, it embraces vanilla as a spice rather than a sweet. A strong amber and almost leathery fragrance for me. Smooth, dry, and spice forward.

Really nice! It had a lot of depth and darkness with some vanilla that makes this a spicy and intriguing blend. Great work and smells very complex

This one is helplessly unbalanced and muddled, with pepper and saffron competing to be the alpha in the opening while a bunch of other less-domineering and gentle elements are left to languish in the background. What's truly heartbreaking is that I detect through the mind-bending chaos some lovely natural materials perishing in the Salazar death cauldron, completely squandered. To think of the hundreds of flowers or leaves or tears of precious resins meeting their fate here is a true tragedy. The end result of this Vanillac fever dream is flat cola, stale coffee grounds, a bit too much Ambrarome and too little heart and care.

An ambery vanilla that almost pulls cola but has leathery nuances to it like the spine of ancient books from a romantic’s library. The dustiness of this one is interesting and I can only imagine deepens like fine wine as it ages. It is unisex and my boyfriend liked this one on me. I enjoy the wear of this one and am excited to try more fragrances from this house, especially the new cola scent for summer. Vanillac Fantasy is a great name and it smells like no other perfume you’ve tried. I know that usually female perfumers specialize in feminine perfume and male perfumers to unisex or masculine but from what I pick up on florals and gourmands from your offerings, I could see you hitting the jackpot sticking your nose in more floral offerings that praise the feminine because I think you appreciate those nuances and let them shine so often in your offerings. I dream of smelling a narcotic white floral feminine perfume from your imagination/creativity. Sounds like a dream!

Dang we obviously have Jacques Cavallier here in the comment section to break down this fragrance and give his oh so valued and 100% objective opinion, how nice!! But seriously, this is a layered and masculine vanilla which is really nice and different than the rest given how so many vanillas on the market run together. I only have a sample so far but I’ve had it for years and every time I go smell it I’m awestruck. True independent niche perfumery on display in the best way. Highly going to consider a bottle when fall is here and the cool weather starts hitting. Probably best to consider sampling perfumes before purchasing of course, especially niche which tend to be outside the box, but Vanillac Fantasy is lovely and one of a kind which I always appreciate.

A very pretty vanilla, not too simple and not too sweet. Manages to pull of the trick of being very “wearable” without being dull. Nice job all round! I’m not necessarily a fan of things that center vanilla unless they’re Shalimar, but this one is special
