X Xandal

Buying and owning this fragrance has taught me two things so far, and I am grateful for both: 1. A good amount of people that write reviews about fragrances either shouldnt write at all or start working on their patience. Not trying to be offensive but after being on the fence about buying this after doing research across 3 platforms, i assume most people immediately started bashing their keyboard saying this is too alcoholic, unbalanced, earthy or just overall bad. What i did was give this fragrance 2 weeks to begin developing, and write a review ONLY after i was sure i understood what Neeb tried to do here. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but to deter someone from expanding their knowledge about fragrance and scaring them away from trying new stuff is unprofessional. If your way of making a review ("expressing" yourself) is to unbox a fragrance and immediately leave a negative vote within the first 48 hours of using it, that means you dont know what youre doing whatsoever. 2. Patchouli, if done right, is not as bad of a note as i thought it to be so far lol About the perfume itself there isnt much to report, i dont have anything to compare it to because i havent got the chance to try Van py rhum. Up close this smells like an expired vanilla ice cream with dirt sprinkled on it, and by "up close" i mean sinking your nose in your forearm and taking a sniff. at a normal lenght everything comes together much more beautifully. No note prevails over one another, instead they are all balanced to create a comfortable boozy, earthy vanillic scent bubble. maybe amplifying the chocolate among all these vanilla notes would make this a hidden gem but who knows Longevity on my skin is 7-8 hours which is what i expected, with strong projection. (note: the more you move with this the better the sillage will be) Smell: 8/10 Projection: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Bottle: 8/10 Packaging: 8/10 edit (july 27th): i now own van py rhum. this is a very solid attempt at an inspired fragrance, but van py rhum is in its own league and is just better in terms of everything (duh)

It is a very Mature Earthy, Greener Mossy Vanilla.. Like really powerful. Not a Gourmand. But it is pleasant. Now should it be Blind bought? No, absolutely not. It is High quality and the opening still is harsh. Its a new batch, so its normal. Opens boozy and Harsh, Strong Patchouli mixed with Vanilla, 50/50, half wonderful, half off putting. Dries down to a Rich Vanilla, not so boozy, kinda chocolaty, with an Earthy, Patchouli base, a dark Mature Vanilla scent, that the more it dries down the better it gets. Projection is amazing, my bottle is new but it's already projection 2-3h, people around seem to like the smell, but when asks to smell close to skin, they get away immediately. So take that in consideration. Longevity will go 6-8h with good projection and then it lasts days on clothes, actually the clothes smell amazing days after. Vanilla and Patchouli do really go well when they are tonned down. This coming from someone that has other FA fragrances like Liquid Brun and Aether. This is not a gourmand by any meanings. Buuut it can get a nice layering scent. I tried this with Liquid brun and wow, on days where Liquid brun is too sweet this on top gives the edge I need. Khamrah, Teriaq and other creamy, Vanilla sweet fragrances also pair well. This literally gives the depth that many cheaps lack. Overall a solod 8.4/10 as it is right now, probably maceration and time will do it's thing and I will come back to it. Not blind buy safe. Niche Strong and extreme high quality for the 30/35€ it's on sale for. Inpaid much less, so I couldn't be happier.

This is special. Heaps of vanilla and dark chocolate with a nice earthy patchouli. There is a interesting powdered chocolate vibe going on also. Not as boozy as I thought it would be. Could do with a touch more booze/rum in it but overall. Absolutely love this. As it dries down the patchouli takes a back seat and more of the creamy vanilla and powdery chocolate come forward and the rum rounds it all up. Just wish the rum was amped up a bit more, I really think that would have made this into a truly insane scent. But overall, love it. Update: After a few days, the scent has opened up. The patchouli is absolutely beautiful in this scent. It's earthy yet not to powerful, really helps add depth to the vanilla. And also, the rum has come out to play. Still wish there was a little more, but It's a satisfying amount of rum. I am loving this scent the more I wear it. Truly one of the best if not the absolute best vanilla fragrance at this price range and more. Amazing stuff. It's creamy, lactonic vanilla that is absolutely mouth watering. With the chocolate and rum, It just makes it delicious. Extremely delicious. And the patchouli just makes it intersting. 10/10. Some may love this. Some may hate it. I personally love it. I layer it up with Atkinsons Pirates Grand Reserve and wow. That combo is truly insane. Imagine extremely creamy vanilla and boozy rum. The vanilla and rum just become more intense. Truly they both are a match in heaven

ngl, i hated it when i first bought it, like really hated it, had the same patchouli bomb that carlisle/redtobacco has but without the spices, and i never picked up any vanilla or anything other than that patchouli (no it was high quality patchouli NOT ganja smell) , i sold the bottle to a friend and one month later he wanted to return it and i was fine with it since he didn't use it, thank god he returned it..... BOOM the most gorgeous vanilla bomb ever, and it's veryyyyy unique, dark masculine-ish vanilla with a vanilla extract smell and a doughy chocolaty type of thing to it with a slighttttt plasticky vibe up close, but in the air, its MAGICAL!!! Haven't smelled Van Phy Rum, but this x xandal woooowwww, I could throw all of my winter fragrances and keep this one and be completley fine!!! Amazing and i can't explain it, such an elegant and mature vanilla, not your Bianco Latte!! btw, this shit doesn't come off your skin, the oil concentration is super high that the fragrance might even become sticky if you spray to much, avoid putting this on clothes, projection isn't screaming, but it leaves a lingering that people will smell when you move around for atleast 8h after application!!

So this is a powerful "in your face" fragrance! Nothing shy and timid here so beware! I bought this after falling in love with Van Py Rhum so I knew what i was getting into since this is supposedly a dupe of that. I absolutely love this! It's dark chocolate, vanilla, patchouli and oh sooo much rum. This is however not a safe blind buy if you haven't smelled something similar before. This is not what I would call a "vanilla" scent. Yes, it's in there but there are a lot of more powerful notes that takes the reigns here. Primairly I get the dark chocolate and rum note the strongest so if you're into that this will be a hit. As far as comparing it to Van Py Rhum it's very close. If you smell this and have smellt Van Py Rhum you're going to think it's that one. Right now I have Van Py Rhum on my left arm and Xandal on my right. Xandal emphasises the dark chocolate more initially at least, will be interesting to see how they performe during the day. Not getting a lot of sweetness from either but I'm happy about that. This feels more grounded. Longevity is however less than Van Py Rhum, on skin Xandal fades in about 5h but Van Py Rhum is still going strong after 8h.

After having this for a couple of months and using a quarter of the bottle ill say that weed smell everyone got from the patchouli just started to come out but its not strong at all i know smoking tons of strains but its nots not even at the opening for me its like in the very dry down or if i worn a sweater with x xandal on it for a day or too cause x xandal doesnt come out till you wash ur clothes id be watching a show or playing a game and wonder why my apartment smells like weed a little bit But mostly its a boozie and vanilla heavy fragrance still gives me a dry feeling like flour from the vanilla and nesquik powder from the chocolate truffles and patchouli or when it all comes together like chocolate chip cookies or a cake mostly baked goods It can get very sickly sweet for me and i notice especially when i dont eat cause it makes my stomach hurts but i plan on balancing this one out by layering X xandal-tease me cant wait to test it out X xandal- posh mirage, i want to bring out that cannabis smell even more X xandal- anything really thats not too sweet

I received a decant from a friend so that I could try this and I have to say it wasn’t what I expected but I really like it! I’ve not tried many of the aromatix before as a long the reviews tended to be by men so it wasn’t really on my radar but now I wonder why I waited so long this stuff is gorgeous and I’m glad I waited for a cold wet day to wear it as it seemed to fit really well. I don’t seem to get the same sillage/longevity that others say unless I’m going nose blind to the fragrance but at the same time with the price of this I certainly don’t mind topping it up. The vanilla and boozy notes are prominent from the first spray but mellow out in the drydown although they aren’t offensive even when first applying. This is definitely one I can see my self reaching for over the winter months ans I can see myself upgrading to a full bottle in future

So I have tried this for two weeks now and gave it enough time to sit, and I would definitely say ppl here are just review bombing this, which is somewhat childish, and I somewhat understand that because being on the internet gets you hate no matter what you do. A very scent centeric review would be this: This is a very mature and masculine vanilla that works for someone who isn't below 27, it's a beautiful blend of dark roasted vanilla, earthy patchouli, spicy rum and chocolatetruffles. Comes across as dark refined and high quality scent, I usually hate sweet in your face annoying vanillas, which is most of the market right now. This is a more gentlemanly and mature kind of vanilla that isn't childish nor is it loud. And one of the very rare vanilla centered fragerances that work for me and my age, If you hate sweet vanillas give this one a try.

Wow simply put this is a masterpiece let me try to break it down for you.. top starts with insane rich vanilla with multiple layers of depth, I didn’t even know one note could have so much depth but still smell like vanilla, for example if you’ve tried Babycat or the DNA you know how there’s a sweet rich vanilla, well imagine if that vanilla had 6 other vanilla twins that joined in , all different but smell similar. Wow. I get the vanilla caviar the most, through the mid you do get a truffle almost like a rich bakery’s truffle but not in a synthetic way smells very natural but is very dark also getting a dark aged rum, eventually hours later when it drys down your left with the spice from the rum, and a more tame slight boozy vanilla with patchouli. 9.7/10 wow

Nose Note #698 My least favourite out of the four that have been released so far. But still what a crazy good perfume. All four smell like top quality fragrances. This one is the most niche smelling for me. Smells like old chocolate coating of a candy that's been expired for many years. I think most people know this smell. But at the same time it smells very rummy. Very nice. But it's more of an acquired taste. It's not off-putting to me at all, so it's not super niche like Marc Antoine Barrois fragrances are, for example. This is a heavy scent that's pleasant, chocolate-rum-vanilla. Unisex, perhaps for feminine because of the vanilla and sweetness. Try before you buy. I'll definitely be giving this more wearings. 7.8/10, nothing like I've tried before

Was abit put off at first spray, as a Vanilla lover, I was not expecting the heavy dusted cacao scent that came initially. I was quite disappointed because I was expecting Vanilla on top of vanilla. HOWEVER The drydown after 20 minutes is. So. Lovely. Unfortunately the dusted chocolate is still there, but the vanilla comes out to play. Its the richest type of Vanilla fragrances I've smelt, it's so beautifully blended between the chocolatey, slightly boozy, dense, rich, mildly sweet Vanilla with just a touch of earthyness that jsut enhances the richness and complexity. Far from what I initially expected, but I certainly am not complaining. The opening definately reminded me of Kayali's Royale Sugared Patchouli, but the drydown is Liquid Gold.

Dark dry chocolate truffle covered with vanilla extract. with alot of patchouli and a little rum spiciness if you can imagine that, its the best description in my opinion. absolutely amazing longevity and sillage. I never even asked for peoples opinions on it when i wore this, and after 5 hours of being out in the night they say it lingers in the air and that its strong. I have van py rhum and its 75-80% similar, van py rhum is more vanillic, and has a vanilla paste texture, less dry, way more rum, and patchouli is more blended in. more versatile then van py rhum I think, and i lowkey like it more sometimes. Imo its an aquired scent, but I will buy it again!

Smelled this tonight at my buddy's store in Montreal, Qc and fell in love. He made me a sample of it but before I left, I ended up just buying his tester bottle. This stuff is pretty awesome smelling in the cold Canadian air right now. It's a bit boozy, a bit nutty and earthy and a lot sweet chocolate and vanilla swirl. Dang! It smells amazing. It's projection was pretty strong for the first couple of hours and now the sillage just smells amazing. Can't really speak of longevity but it seems beefy enough to last til tomorrow morning. I never thought I'd own one from this line but it just smells so darn awesome to me, I couldn't resist.

Straight chocolate/rum opening, settles down into a very dark earthy chocolate scent, with light hints of vanilla sweetening it up a lil bit. The scent to my nose is quite linear although the deepness/darkness to the chocolate settles a touch, after many hours on the skin. Whoever says they smell weed from this is crazy😂 I smoke alot and I have never smelled any damn weed like this in my life. If you can find me it, I'll smoke it, cause It smells damn good if it smells like this😂 The quality is amazing. Aromatix and French Avenue smashed it with this one. Presentation is a straight 10/10 all day long. Bottle is gorgeous. Love it.

wow. This surprised me. The patchouli really hits the mark with the rum here and this scent definitely reminds me of some nice, good quality, restrained, real agarwood scent too . This is bright and uplifting, not green in my opinion, and no Cannabis to me either. Earthy, woody and boozy whit bright, not stuffy, but deep chocolated, vanilla. The dry down go deeper into vanillas, but vanilla here never becomes childish or cheap, in my opinion. In fact, It reminds me a bit of the vanilla of V.Canto Mirabile. I I believe this will get ever better when it ripens properly, but it's awesome right out of the box too.

A textbook definition of a gourmand fragrance. As for the notes, you do notice alot of caramel, vanilla and chocolate truffle. The noted oud and "wet patchouli" is non existent... After a few few minutes, you can get that rum's booziness, It is not the most extreme, but you can still kind of sniff it out. I was sceptical about the perfume at first, but once you smell it out of the air, it is genuinely so cozy and intimate. It smells like eating a caramalised vanilla ice cream after you drank whiskey and rum in like a cool dark setting like a jazz club or a bar with minimal lighting. 8/10

This fragrance is so so sooooo good, A chocolatey, earthy vanilla, with a deep woody dry down, notes are so well blended, it smells expensive, more niche than I expected, no, there's no weed in here, can't understand why people keep saying that, the chocolate and vanilla leave a beautiful scent trail, and it lasts a very long time I get 10+ hours from this, the people that are saying oud ruins everything, clearly did not read the notes before buying it, if you like a sophisticated chocolatey vanilla that isn't too sweet this would be the one, this would smell good on anyone

This is so beautifully "dirty" that I'm addicted. It's still too hot to wear out and about so I put it on to sleep at night. For whoever asked to compare it to December Vanilla... This is so much richer, so much dirtier. The patchouli and cacao make it so dank. This is not blind but safe however everyone I've introduced it to has purchased it. The only thing I wish is that the raunchy opening lasted far longer. For reference, I'm a middle aged female that loves scents with extreme intensity... And MFK gentle fluidity gold and silver, go figure

First 15 minutes it smells like those chocolate bites with rum that we used to eat at our grandparents home as kids. You can smell the earthiness of the patchouli and the vanilla in the background. After 15 minutes a bit of the vanilla comes forward and balances the chocolate smell. People hate it for no reason. It's very unique and well made fragrance. Haven't tried the L Pazzaglia that this is supposed to copy. Lasts about 4 hours on skin and 10 hours on clothes. I blind bought it and I'm very pleased. 9/10

First day of wearing this. I've had it on for a few good hours now. It's giving the gorgeous vanillas, a bit of rum and lots and lots of dark chocolate. I get the whiffs of it all the time which is great as I love chocolate scent. Not synthetic, but very realistic. I don't get much patchouli (which I don't mind anyway) and there's definitely no weed scent detectable at all. Good sillage and longevity so far. I really like it. I think it'll feel ever nicer in Autumn/Winter. Great blind buy for me.

Chocolate, vanilla and patchouli, with a side of rum; gourmand, but not excessively so. This has a very high-quality and natural smelling vanilla—like you’re in the kitchen making a boozy cake! I’m very impressed by the performance of this fragrance: over 10 hours of longevity on skin and projects like crazy. This is a fragrance that I could easily see a designer brand selling for $150+. However, it should be tested first, as it’s rather challenging for a vanilla. For me at least, it’s a 10/10.

This is 95% close to Van Py Rhum! In the opening you get a shit ton of boozy vanilla and an earthy patchouli and smooth dark chocolate. After a few hours the chocolate settles a bit, giving the vanilla and booze it’s time to shine. This is so damn close to VPR and I have the original as well, smelling it side by side and couldn’t tell the difference. Performance: - longevity 8-10 hours - projection is STRONG the first 2-3 hours! 10/10 perfume for the winter in my opinion

This really reminds me of DUA’s Belgium Chocolate Truffle but softer with a less pronounced plum note. I get no weed smell from this. It’s only the first day with this so we’ll see how it develops after sitting for a while. Overall I love it and it’s gonna get plenty of wear over the next couple of months. Also this reminds me of Les Heures de Cartier: L'Heure Defendue VII Cartier but the Cartier is stronger on the patchouli.

A very good vanilla fragrance, that brings back childhood memories. It has a very unique boozy and sweet scent profile. I think this is a quite challenging fragrance, might not work for everyone, if you can buy a decant before you buy the entire bottle. For me it's the best vanilla scent that I like to wear, mostly suited for colder seasons. Performance for me: longevity 8-12h (on skin), projects very nice for the first 4hrs.

This is slowly becoming one of my all-time favorites. I grabbed it the day it dropped, and I have zero regrets. I wore it to class once, and the compliments were nonstop. Heads up though: this stuff is a beast. It has insane longevity, strong projection, and it’s seriously powerful. It’s so close to perfection; I just wish it had that one extra unique twist or layer to really make it stand out. I rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.9/5).

First off dont blind buy this please. Starts off very earthy, dark. Then this beautiful vanilla with this rum comes out. It stays like that for a while dirty earthy vanilla, then u also get this chocolate truffle thats dusted with chocolate( picture that bc its excatly like that) The drydown is my fav, it keeps some of the earthiness but this amazing caramel comes out and its fuckinf beautiful. 10/10 Got it for 30$ 😋

I can’t comprehend how people are able to smell weed in this. I’ve showed this to a lot of people at work and friends and everyone gave me a weird look when I asked them if they could smell weed. Not a single person could including me (I’ve asked over 30 people to verify) Someone started this weed trend and people are mindlessly following it and posting the same thing.

Idk where this BS "weed" smell ppl are getting. Im an avid smoker of weed, this smells nothing like that. It opens with a strong boozy note that gives way to a heavy dose of vanilla and undertone of rauchiness coming from patchouli. Not too complex but a different take on the average vanilla scent. Its solid if you like vanilla, but i dont think its a must have.

If you bought this can you please give us an in depth review? I am so interested in buying it as I love vanilla fragrances. I need to know if it’s a gourmand vanilla or a strong patchouli vanilla. Also, does it really smell like weed? Lol I won’t be able to tell I never smelled weed before but I don’t want to walk around with everyone thinking I smell like it🥲😂

Okay first impressions i have no clue how a vanilla bean freshly scooped smells like but on initial you do pick up vanilla and rum and two minutes later it turns into the vanilla tootsie roll with the blue and white packaging and smells a little like flour or vanilla cupcakes ill have to do another review after having the fragrance for a couple of days

Oh how I love this. It is warm cozy chocolate vanilla. But yes it is designed on a theme which is Van Py Rhum. And that really is the best as it’s got that something extra but this is just so good. I just can’t stop sniffing. X-Xandal just doesn’t give the rum to my nose. So the boozy note is missing. But that’s about it and it is stunning.

This is my second Aromatix and I must say that the quality is incredible. Now for the scent this is a rich dark deep chocolate scent mixed with tons of vanilla with some booziness. Idk why people say its not blind buy worthy, Yes its unique and different to the usual popular winter scents but still this is appealing. preformance is great.

so i just got my hands on van py rhum and Aromatix blows it out the water. yes they smell the same but van py rhum smells like vanilla that was taken out of the ground while X xandal smells like vanilla ice cream mixed with Baileys cream rum. Performance is basically the same and if i had to pick ill grab X xandal every time

1st go get this, 2nd this fragrance is amazing beyond amazing 👏 couldn't be a lesser masculine fragrance than this. Hypnotizing vanilla and rum is what you are greeted with, sophistication at its finest the winter's won't be the same anymore. Long lasting great sillage and you're going to smell yourself all day & night long.

This is such a stunning gourmand fragrance! It’s not juvenile nor a childish vanilla but a sophisticated grownup gourmand scent. I imagine a barrel filled with vanilla-flavored whey protein powder, mixed with an opening shot of whiskey, sprinkled with powdered chocolate used in cakes (the ones that can make you cough). Absolutely lovely stuff! Boozy, Warm, Powdery Vanilla. I have not smelled a vanilla fragrance quite like this. Nothing Else.

I am a huge fan of vanilla and this is absolutely a banger. The chocolate truffle note hits me first, loved it. This fragrance has insane amount of vanilla in it and I love it so much. I just explored this fragrance in the end of the winter but I know this fragrance is gonna be my next winter fragrance purchase.

My husband makes this drunk chocolate cake for Christmas. It has dark chocolate pudding, lots of rum and chocolate bits. This perfume smells exactly like it. I do get that earthy patchouli in the dry down, but I like it. I’m not getting any weed smell, thankfully. Just rum, vanilla and dark chocolate truffles.

Fresh out the box pure weed. After a week I’m getting some very strong patchouli coupled with a mild chocolate and a heady vanilla. Really good longevity mediocre projection. Pretty different scent would recommend. Be careful as many have told me it smells like weed though.

Insane performance on this one. People say it has a weed smell but I don't pick it up. It has a chocolaty vanilla smell. I think the patchouli in it is giving people the weed vibes. Like I said performance is crazy and the quality is super high..9.5/10.

Maybe I oversprayed because I was using a decant, but I could genuinely still smell this thing 16+ hours later. Smells like a boozy chocolatey earthy vanilla. Dark, but very sweet, rum and patchouli keep it slightly masculine leaning. I love this.

Got it today and I was going insane not knowing what this reminded me of. It’s so similar to mugler’s amen lol, it’s almost identical to me. It smells very nice, but I didn’t expect it to be so similar to amen.

I already commented on the scent (its amazing) now im back with the performance after more testing. Its crazy, projection is really good the first 2-4 hours and longevity is mind blowing with 13h++

Its an amazing scent IMO,nothing like this,a mixture of some high grade weed and vanilla,amazing..good stuff neeb,performance is great you get 7 hours plus depending on the weather

Very strong stuff. 0 weed smell. Some of these people need their noses checked. If you love vanilla then you'll love this. Performance gets a 9/10. Overall fragrance gets a 9.5/10.

My favorite one so far it’s a sexy boozy vanilla scent with hints of chocolate omg it’s so good I absolutely love this prefect for the winter time and it’s beast mode

This fragrance is perfect for layering, but it's not a blind buy. You need to understand its purpose first, otherwise, you might not like it at all

I was wanting to get this but, after reading reviews on it, I am just going to wait till this whole weed situation is addressed by Aromatix.

I wore this as my sotd layered with Akro's Awake and got SOOOOO many compliments. They just complement each other so well. Try it. :D
