After Sun

I’ve been misting myself with After Sun since I first discovered it in Ulta last year. I finally bit the bullet and I am very happy with it. Most testers at Ulta and Sephora have gone bad or something and often what I try on smells different than a fresh bottle. So I now test multiple times from multiple sources before investing in a full bottle. This here smells great. It’s refreshing and green without smelling manly. This conjures ideas of the spa to me. It smells like a more elevated and less sweet version of cucumber melon. Even though I think cucumber melon smells good, I was traumatized by it along with sweet pea in hand sanitizer form in my tween years. After Sun is more akin to the discontinued Dove Ultimate Deodorant in Cucumber Water and Mint, but still smell similar to the regular offerings of Dove Cucumber and Green Tea fragrance. If you like either of those soaps or deodorants, you’ll enjoy After Sun. If you were looking for something closer to Native’s Cucumber Mint, then Noteworthy N,470 Floating Garden is what you should be looking at. It’s a little more masculine leaning, stronger and has a powdery linen hint to it.

One of my new favorites. Got a mist after sampling in store after a very hot day at the beach. Had a tank top on with a sunburn and sand still stuck to my skin, I was the ideal candidate for this: Instant, cooling, refreshment. Similar to how the coolness of aloe Vera gel left in the fridge on a red hot sunburn. There is not much in my Florida man collection that cuts the heat like this boozy, ozonic gem. The folks behind Vacation's scents have created another masterpiece. This is my favorite of theirs and my current go to - $17 for a bottle of body mist that one can stash anywhere for instant clean. It’s honestly yummy and makes me want a sprite, though there is incredibly no citrus here. This really is the scent for them that makes sense. It’s an absolute masterclass on a modern fresh aquatic. Big love and I don’t need to buy any more scents. Won popular fragrance of the year from the Fragrance Foundation. The original was a hard act to follow but this act actually beats out the previous triumph. The Miami identity is too cool for school, the juices are completely legitimate and salud to the 305 baby - daleee 😎

this is one of the best green fragrances i've ever smelled!! so nice and clean, it's like the perfect spa day. the aloe vera and gin really stand out in the best way possible BUT....................... god the projection and longevity suck 😭 especially the projection, you can only smell it if you're sniffing right on wherever you sprayed. the longevity is only around 3 hours for me. if they improved the longevity and projection it'd be perfect, but as it stands is probably something i'll only wear to sleep or lounging at home. def will serve as a pick-me-up when you wanna feel relaxed though!

Unexpectedly loved this! More perfume than functional fragrance overall. Lightly white floral with loads of vintagey "aquatic" notes. 10/10 🤌 Side note: Vacation, After Sun, and Grand Cuvee can be layered to wonderful effect.

I love the simplicity of After Sun. It’s clean and fresh without the zest of citruses. The aloe and tea notes are relaxing and spa-like. Another spring/summer easy reach! Like Vacation I need a bigger bottle!

This is the perfect after-shower/clean scent after a day at the beach. It's refreshing.

This fragrance has grown on me so much. It’s definitely the subtlest out of the Vacation fragrances, but it fits in so well with the other two and layers great with both of them. On its own it is refreshing and cooling, like a day at a strange but relaxing spa or the soothing feel of applying the aloe gel it is based on after a long day in the sun. It’s also extremely unisex, where some perfumes that attempt a green profile fall into being almost performatively musky and masculine this is a scent that doesn’t try too hard. I agree with Ceau de Parfum that it’s very Florida coded, there’s a hint of alcohol (probably the gin & tonic notes) that I personally find really comforting; this scent is very come-as-you-are if that makes any sense whatsoever. I recommend wearing it post evening shower or while relaxing in white linens on a Sunday. I also love to pair this with Grand Cuvée, it softens out the sweetness of that scent and somehow adds a subtlety that makes it more wearable if you don’t feel like being too bold that day.

Smells like a freshly cleaned, hotel towel. Opens up bright, crisp, and fresh with that wonderful aloe Vera accord mixed with a slight sparkle from some ozonic notes. As it dries down it becomes an overdose of white musks with slight green twinges from green tea around the edges. A wonderful clean summertime, beach fragrance that doesn’t rely on the suntan lotion, coconut, or tropical fruits that 98% of other tropical summer time fragrances do. A must try if looking for a good summer fragrance but cannot stand the aforementioned types of scents. Very clean and unobtrusive. Weak performance of around 4-5 hours with pretty intimate projection throughout, but you get what you pay for and I’m not against lathering this on. Song vibe - On Top of the World by Stephen Day TLDR - Clean, green, and not at all mean, this after sun perfume is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun summer fragrance that doesn’t fall under the standard sweet tropes. A wonderful mood booster.

After Sun induces such a feeling of nostalgia every time I smell it. If you remember the early 2000s there was a love affair with west coast beach culture. This scent reminds me of Hollister, Laguna Beach, Blue Crush and the scents that were popular at the time. This scent is very aquatic but there’s also something kitschy about it. Upon opening, you get this brightness that probably comes from the ozonic qualities of the fragrance. There’s also acidity from the gin note. Imagine yourself being pulled by the waves and then leaving the ocean. You walk across the sand and sit in a lounger. You skin is salty and a water just dropped by to offer you a drink. It feels refreshing! And that’s exactly what After Sun is. I would say that this scent, despite being unisex is reminiscent of early 2000s beach inspired male fragrances. I personally still love to wear it as a woman, but it’s something to consider!

Blind bought this because 'Vacation' was what brought me into the fragrance world and I love it. After Sun is another aptly named scent by this house and brand. It reminds me exactly of 5pm on a vacation day: That gorgeous time of taking a restorative shower after a full day at the beach just before going to dinner. Aloe vera gel. Fresh, clean hotel linens. The coolness of a cucumber lotion covering up the heat of the day. This was truly made for summer evenings and I think when layered carefully with 'Vacation' underneath will create the illusion of well... vacation.

i purchased this for my sister for mothers day. i liked all of the vacation inc fragrances in ulta but my sister being skincare obsessed i thought she’d best prefer this one as it smells like a super clean sunscreen. i asked her to use this following my shower the other day and i genuinely fell in love. i’m not one to usually enjoy a green fragrance but its so clean, refreshing, slightly aquatic and the dry down is a bit woodsy to my surprise. i’d love to curate a shower routine around this fragrance starting with the dove cool moisture cucumber bar soap.

This feels like a grown-up version of cucumber melon to me. It's very soothing; I definitely got the aloe vera and ozonic notes and the musk overall. I was impressed by its weartime--I could still smell it where I had applied it after ten hours. The trade-off is that it is a very intimate fragrance with almost no scent bubble. But overall very nice... if anything, the only crime is that it's a little boring, in my opinion.

I love this. It’s so clean, refreshing and relaxing. I get the melon and aloe Vera. It doesn’t smell like the aloe Vera gel I used as after sun, which I was hoping for, but it’s still very nice. I’m very pleased with it personally. I had mine shipped from the US to the UK and will likely get a back up bottle. To me it’s unique and nothing like any other perfume I’ve ever smelt.

I want to enjoy this more than I actually do. The scent itself will get you so many compliments, but someone has to be asked to smell it since it is such a close scent. On top of being so close, it doesn’t want to last longer than 3-4 hours. If you like a clean “skin” scent, she’s perfect. If you want a bit of projection on a unisex clean scent you need to look elsewhere.

To me, this is a freshly cleaned towel at a beach resort. You have just taken a shower with the soap they provided for you, and the beach waves are misting the air around you as you are wrapped up around a nice warm towel. Totally unisex. Performance is meh. Pricing is fine. Overall not bad.

It's nice. Definitely smells like a day spent at a nice spa. The gin and aloe vera come through very clearly to me. Very clean and fresh with a slightly medicinal quality (not in a bad way). Not obviously a summer scent, which is nice.

Refreshing, relaxing, safe. Unisex and unsweet, I think truly anyone could wear this. Notes are exactly as described. It's simple, light, perfect for summer. I want to drink a cocktail on the beach that tastes exactly how this smells.

Fresh and summery. Reminds me a lot of Elizabeth Arden's "Green Tea" but leans a little more masculine in my opinion. Makes me imagine being freshly showered, slightly sunburnt, getting dressed for dinner at the resort restaurant.

blind bought this, sprayed it once and liked it but after awhile it gave me a very medicinal smell that made me feel sick. a fresh, clean scent but not for me. if anyone wants to trade or buy, dm me.

soapy barely-there aquatic green cucumber scent. will probably be quite refreshing in the summer, but i live outside of the US and i don't think this is worth the effort and cost to get it shipped

beautiful notes and truly the perfect summer scent... all the comments are wrong about projection and longevity this stays all day with a strong scent on my skin

Cucumber, green tea, aloe Vera that turns into a clean musk, love wearing it on super warm days. It has this fizzing quality, kinda like melon ramune

It smells like the aftershave my dad used when I was a kid. Clean, fresh, leans masculine.

In addition to the typical clean musk, I'm learning I don't like 'spa' scents. However, if that is what you enjoy, give this one a shot. This bottle is beautiful, and I enjoyed smelling the fragrance, I agree that it has a fizzy quality though I would class it as closer to the original iberia aloe drink as it isn't particularly sweet. It gives the cooling sensation of putting on aftersun gel at dusk, having been burnt as your sunscreen washed off in the ocean hours ago, crunching through the jellified cubes of aloe as you chug your drink down to throw off dehydration. Unique, beautiful, and evocative of summer memories.

artificial cucumber cranked to 100000, which i can't believe i don't like. something about this one is weird, like it reminds me of one of those dollar store gel air freshies you keep by the toilet. i don't get any of the melon note i was hoping for, sadly. like, holy cow, hoping i settle into this one cos it's pretty overpowering. i guess i can see how someone could like this, maybe it's just me. not horrible, but not very wearable either.

I am pleasantly surprised by this! I thought this would be a one and done purchase with a very artificial aloe scent but I love it. I can really smell the fresh green scent and it's a good dupe for Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Cucumber. This is great for the deep heat of summer or a fresh clean scent on your pillow right before bed. Will definitely pick up another bottle when they are on sale.

I tried this because I love the Vacation edt, but this one was a bit too unisex for me. It is generally the same scent as Vacation's after sun aloe vera gel. Definitely aquatic and vintage smelling, but not necessarily in a bad way, just not something I vibe with personally.

The only thing I like about After Sun Vacation is the 5 minutes opening. After that, it is so generic and week. It is overpriced for 30ml bottle that requires many sprays and reapply. Eventhough I got for $30, it is still not worth it.

Strong vegetal vibes like fresh cut broccolini. Sillage is a couple hours. Reminds me of Killian's Roses on Ice

Love love love this fresh scent, especially when it hits 110F + in my AZ desert climate. Sadly though this is a pass for me. This fragrance just will not last past 45 minutes on me matter what tricks I’ve tried. Admittedly my skin eats fragrances, however most of the time my freshies become skin scents which I am absolutely fine with. This one however is giving off barely a whiff now that 50 minutes has gone by. If they could improve the longevity I’d be absolutely hooked!

I can't figure out why I'm not as fond of this scent as others. I don't reach for it much and I have to come up with excuses to wear it. Because it's such a small bottle and the scent doesn't last long I just don't see the point in buying this one. I got it in a subscription box, so I only paid for that and not the scent. I wouldn't be buying it on it's own if I had a choice.

Thanks i hate it. Full disclosure i am not a fresh perfume person. I was more of a sweet pea than cucumber melon girlie in middle school, but I really loved the marketing campaign for this fragrance concept and have been looking for a tea scent. All the reviews talk about this being refreshing light and luxurious but this was not my experience at all. I probably hyped this up in my mind too much but regardless, I’m very disappointed. A few people describe a medicinal or disinfectant quality from the gin notes but the most I get is elderly musty overpowering and cloying with an artificial candy melon backbone. I cannot stand it. One spray knocked me out. At first it was ok and I was hopeful for the dry down, but I took a nap and woke up feeling overwhelmed and suffocated. I’d keep it just for how nice the box and bottle look in my collection but I can’t even stand the smell of it in the package, it’s much too strong for me in the worst ways.

I don't think I have ever hated a scent more. Smells like spoiled cucumbers or a melon salad left out in the sun for too long.

"Vacation" and "After Sun" aim to recreate the before/during and after olfactory experience of going swimming, whether it be at the pool, beach, resort, cruise, etc. In my opinion, both fragrances execute their mission statement flawlessly. After Sun smells like a hologram of every sunburn tonic, moisturizer, cucumber melon hand soap, and 2000s era sheer musky perfume that I've ever smelled. In contrast with "Vacation" however, After Sun's note list is much more lucid, whereas Vacation is abstract: I can smell every note listed for After Sun, but Vacation gets more into a blend, with indescribable notes such as "inflatable pool toy" simply alluding to an aesthetic device. They are best enjoyed as a pair, in the summer or on vacation, before and after their prescribed activities. That isn't to say they aren't both excellent pick me ups in the winter too. These two perfumes deserve a dissertation on marketing and olfactory nostalgia/associations but I'm not the one smart enough to do it. It's a testament that creative perfumes can still be made without the use of artificial intelligence creating the entire fragrance formula for you.

Gosh, as a kid, I used to use a mint green after sun lotion in a round bottle. It had aloe and cucumber in it - I’m fair skinned, so I usually had some level of sunburn, but that lotion felt cool and soft. After Sun gives the same fresh fragrance and even seems cooling like that lotion. It has a fresh eau de cologne note, very faint, suddenly I’m showered, cooling and lotioned up, wearing something loose and soft. This just takes me back to those tired, end of the beach day memories. Doesn’t last very long, but I’m okay with that!

I love this fragrance and I would almost describe it as synthetic and tacky in a positive way. It is rather loud, but still tasteful and not as one-dimensional as the price point would suggest. The aloe and melon notes are really heavy handed, but come across in a clear and crisp way that is almost nostalgic of after sun aloe gel. The cardamom and musk base is the perfect ending that doesn’t necessarily transform the fragrance but meshes with the rest really well. For the price point it is, it’s a great fragrance.

This is great - it does remind me of aloe vera gel even if it doesn't smell 1:1 like it, it has elements of that, cucumber water, and a light airy accord. Performs really surprisingly well considering what it is, projects nicely for a couple hours and lasts on skin for 5 or 6, about as long as anything else with this type of scent profile would. Great deal for $60 and it's good to know Arquiste put effort into these rather than just setting out to make a couple of "cheap" scents to get into stores.

I really love this scent, it's very pure and neat. I am a sucker for clean fragrances and this gets me going on, even on my bad days, this scent really cheers me up, I say to myself, if the day is going bad, it's not in my control at least the scent I am wearing is the best!

Take the elements of Y2K green tea and aquatic perfumes and roll them into one, and this is what this perfume smells like. I don’t really get cucumber melon from it, but more so green tea, and then it settles into a light aquatic scent. Nostalgic and comforting scent.

I love this one when I'm looking for something fresh, but you must must MUST use a light hand-- I 100% get stares on the subway if I overspray this one at home lol :')
