Dusk I

Very, very unusual to start - actually smells quite sickly....! I will assume that is the combination of the milk and orange - not two items who quite like to be paired! I can definitely smell the milk there initially and then the orange starts to peek through. The milk tends to overpower the lilly when it starts to show, which is barely discernible above the milk - however, it is there and it does grow and I also get a little plum at this stage again these individual scents combine to fight the sickly milk smell and they do so quite effectively, giving quite a uniquely floral scent. I think the thing to note with this perfume is that we are not speaking of a sweet milkshake here - rather, we are talking about a glass of milk..!!! The lilly and plum lead into the drydown where I pick up a feint waft of cedar - not as powerfully as I thought I would and quite well crafted to this end with the vanilla which gives a slight edge to the drydown and not just the usual vanilla scent. All in all an 'interesting' perfume with the sickliness of the (baby) milk turning into quite an unusual floral - I do feel this is more floral than fruity as the fruitiness is quite muted (maybe even a floriental with the vanilla conclusion?); although this is not a floral in the traditional sense of the word! I would say this is better for the evening and I can't really decide on season so I would currently plump for spring/autumn...! Silage good. Lasting power is average. One for those who like scents that are slightly off the beaten track!

This is just as gorgeous as Dawn "I". At first I thought it was the same, but now it has settled down I can tell the difference (have one on one hand, one on the other). Dusk is sweeter and more floral than Dawn, and compared to Dusk, Dawn is fresh and earthy. It actually makes sense to me now why they suggest you wear Dawn in the morning and Dusk in the evening. (Edit: well, duh.) Dusk is probably the marginally more mainstream-type scent (although not mainstream at all, if that makes sense) because of the sweetness and floral notes. It still has the gorgeous milky clean smell but is not soapy like Dawn. Anyway, I love this one - not quite as much as Dawn - but love nevertheless. Well played, Arrogant Cat. Well played.

I found both Dusk and Dawn in their boxes at the back of my shelf, so thought I’d give them a go. Dusk smells much creamier and sweeter than Dawn, with less wood and more milk, plum and vanilla at first, and it dries sweeter. It’s less ‘fresh’, although I don’t think Dawn in itself is fresh either! Both are nice, and I’ll probably use them. Annoyed I threw the boxes away as I’ve just seen they come with little cat charms and I didn’t see those 😭

How very, very odd. On me this has not a trace of milkiness, orange, or any of the other notes. The only thing I can liken it to is a minty toothpaste smell, that isn't fresh/menthol-y. Not what I was looking for. I cannot imagine a single thing this might have in common with Kenzo Jungle Elephant.

So much more complex and sexier than I expected! I was expecting a kinda boring but nice sweet gourmand. This has a bit of spice to it though! Not sure what it is, maybe the Cedar? I was expecting this to be kinda childish (which doesnt bother me) but I think this is much more mature and will be my new fall signature for work. The only problem is getting it away from my mother who also LOVES it! Thank you Onaona for gifting this to me!!
