German Angst

I think that Art Brut reformulated this fragrance, the notes are different, the fragrance box says: bergamot essence, mandarin, pink pepper ext., juniper essence, fig, elemi, peppermint, patchouli essence, animalic notes, cashmere wood, modern woods. It is quite strong and longlasting, pink pepper in top notes is strong but then the fragrance becomes fresh and powdery. I got lots of compliments from men and women and I keep on reaching for it.

Love it. Got a tester before buying the whole bottle, I was very intrigued. I was looking after Chasing Ghosts but German Angst totally won me. It smells green, fresh, like the cut grass of a garden soaked with Spring rain and wet herbs. Long lasting, addicting, aura builder. If you want to be noticed, that's a good call.

By far my favorite perfume to wear on almost all occasions. It's strong and have an almost intoxicating feeling to it. Yet it is gentle and of warm nature. German Angst fits better for more formal or fancy setting, especially in the cold seasons.

Contrary to popular opinion, I prefer German Angst in hot weather. I find it aromatic, cooling and refreshing. The notes listed here are incorrect.

The only angst you’ll find here is the existential dread of a fragrance that barely projects and fades before it can make a statement. It does smell good; refined, even. But for all its promise, it ends up whispering where it should speak. ARTBRÜT seem to craft excellent smells, but so far, underwhelming perfumes.

Alongside Weltschmerz and AI_am_Jesus this an interesting one from Art Brüt. It’s a spicy, slightly sweet (from the sandalwood) wood fragrance. Don’t know what to compare it to. But I would love something like this. With better silage and longevity.

An interesting scent, sharp and piercing, yet still lightly sweet. To me, it’s a cold fragrance, with woody notes and peppermint. Also slight pepper notes. It even has an almost clinical edge, reminds me of a visit to the dentist or a hospital.

No oud in an oriental sense of the word. Non-descript woods with fresh soapy-citrusy cardamom - like when you bite into cardamom, it has those facets akin to coriander - enhanced by rose and a touch of black pepper. Enveloped by some powdery sweetness that at times reminds me of ambers. Interesting, if a bit off-putting - but that's just a personal preference on that soapy-citrusy smell.

Have yet to put my hands on this one just came here to state that ArtBrüt ig states utterly different notes for German Angst. It says its a woody fragrance but that is all it about the parity.

Oud? It must be the invisible oud from Jupiter. Take English Fern by Penhaligons and water it down to infinity. Pass.
