Like a Virgin by Art Meets Art smells like white wine! Not nearly as astringent or sticky smelling but it definitely has a refined elegance to it! Paradisone is synthetic but mimics the smell of many florals put together. There is a nice fluffy musk in here mixed with some woody notes. Opens with peony, loads of fresh freesia, and perhaps a tinge of rose. I smelled the limited edition of Like a Virgin and I did not like it as much as the original. I bought the sample pack because I wanted to smell Bohemian Rhapsody hoping that I would like it, but I did not. I ended up loving Like a Virgin so much that I bought a full bottle of it! My friends who know me well, know that I am a fragrance addict and I always show up smelling fabulous, but when I wore this one of my male friends who rarely notices anything said, “I know you wear a lot of different fragrances, but whatever your wearing right now smells really nice. I like it.” If that is not a sincere compliment then I don’t know what is!

Like a Virgin EDP was launched in 2017, and, as the name suggests, immediately evokes memories of Madonna’s most iconic hit. However, those expecting a provocative, bold, or sensual scent might be surprised; the perfumer chose a completely different path. Instead of reflecting the artist's daring persona, the fragrance delivers a composition that is delicate, luminous, and incredibly comfortable. The creation is the work of Alberto Morillas, one of the most influential perfumers in the world. Inspired by the song, he chose to craft a scent that conveys freshness and renewal, shunning excess in favor of a more subtle beauty. He said: "I’m a longtime fan of Madonna’s work and the way she constantly reinvents herself. For “Like a Virgin”, I tried to capture the essence of who she was at this point in her life and the energy surrounding the song and era". Like a Virgin EDP opens with a blend of aquatic notes and a luminous touch of mandarin orange. It is a fresh, sheer opening that paves the way for a clean floral character. The floral heart then reveals an incredibly elegant combination of freesia, rose, and peony. None of these flowers clamors for center stage; instead, they work in perfect harmony to create a fresh, delicate, rose-forward floral scent with an almost dewy quality – reminiscent of petals still kissed by morning mist. This defines the fragrance's olfactory profile and ensures it lingers on the skin for over ten hours. The peony deserves special mention. Beyond its floral qualities, it adds a light, youthful, fruity touch that prevents the composition from feeling too serious or overly classic. It is precisely this detail that keeps the fragrance light, modern, and very easy to wear. The base features amber and musk. The latter plays a pivotal role throughout the fragrance's evolution; rather than merely serving as a base note, it envelops the scent in an atmosphere of extreme cleanliness and comfort, evoking that pleasant sensation of freshly bathed skin. As a huge fan of Madonna’s work and artistry, I must admit that, despite the collection's name and concept, I couldn't quite see *her* in this fragrance. It captures neither the irreverent, provocative young artist of the *Like a Virgin* era nor the woman we know today, who is typically associated with opulent, bold scents and her signature fragrance-layering techniques. Alberto Morillas has delivered a masterfully crafted perfume. Yet, to my mind, it speaks more of a contemporary ideal of cleanliness and sophistication than of the singer's own olfactory personality. And some might view this as a generic creation lacking personality. Man, and for Madonna, of all people? Is it a bad fragrance? Not at all! It is an incredibly elegant floral-musk scent. It is fresh, rosy, and delicately fruity, possessing a transparency rarely found in this category of perfumes. Its versatility makes it suitable for almost any occasion, appealing to those who seek a comfortable, refined fragrance free from excess. It shares the same lightness and quality found in Acqua di Parma’s Acqua Nobile Rosa, for instance. Everyone expects a perfume named Like a Virgin to embody Madonna in fragrance form. I found a different interpretation. I discovered a scent that speaks of lightness, comfort, and naturalness— and which, on second thought, is indeed virginal: "Like a Virgin."

This smells like an aquatic to me. A bit synthetic and unique but very milky, green and waterlily to me and some white musk. Not a raunchy civet or castoreum feel. This isn't dirty like I expected. It IS the virgin. Clean and unkissed.
