Sexual Healing

The name reveals the concept right away: sexual healing. The song itself begins with an irresistible invitation – "Let's get down tonight", and the challenge lies in transforming one of history's most sensual songs into a perfume. Christophe Raynaud found the answer. The scent’s composition boasts an almost disarming, minimalist simplicity. The olfactory pyramid features honey and ginger in the top notes, tobacco absolute in the heart, and vanilla with an amber accord in the base. It uses a few raw materials, chosen with great intelligence, to create a fragrance that seems to pulse on the skin. From the very first spray, the honey completely dominates the scene. This isn't the childish or sugary honey often found in gourmand perfumes; it is a thick, golden, almost liqueur-like honey – warm and seductive – that immediately commands attention. The perfumer translated the song's atmosphere into scent. I have a lot of experience with scent, but had never heard of this house or perfume before. It smelled unique, and irresistible; so I bought it at Saks NYC and brought it back to Toronto a few weeks ago. A honey note is a hard thing to get right-- but this is just wonderful. And everyone loves it: every age of man or woman. A server at a restaurant smelled it on me three weeks ago, and when I wore it back to the same restaurant last night, she remembered it exactly and instantly, and her compliments were full of longing (so she's getting a decant). It is lulling and arousing at once. Utterly unisex, too; if I sat next to a man who was wearing it, it would take a surgeon to get my nose away from his neck. Sillage is perfect (soft but noticeable), and longevity is many hours on me-- right into the next morning after an evening's wear. Well worth the reasonable money, and I will absolutely buy it again when close to running out, even if (since Saks NYC does not ship to Canada) it lands up costing me another trip to New York. I just hate telling people the name, though. Personally I think of it as Smolder. Will endeavour to try and think of alternate song titles less embarrassing to say out loud.

Reviewing an official sample from 2025. Sexual Healing was launched in 2017. This is a rich and warm honeyed tobacco fragrance referencing Marvin Gaye’s smooth voice. "And honey I know you'll be there to relieve me The love you give to me will free me If you don't know the thing you're dealing Oh I can tell you, darling, that it's sexual healing". Fairly linear. There is creamy spicy ginger and very realistic rich honey with the smoothest tobacco (tobacco absolute). This results in a beautiful beeswax accord. Who doesn't love beeswax candles? Vanilla and amber add softness and longevity. No cloying sweetness or synthetic notes. Worth sampling. Quality- excellent, very well blended Unisex Performance- very good One of the best honey tobacco fragrance out there. Sublime rich honey and beeswax. 8.5/10

May 25, 2025. This came out in 2017?? Oh baby this is good. I thought the opening was going to stay linear because it was good enough. Oh baby no. The dry down is where it's at. Very sexy creamy spicy tobacco. This perfume person probably has very good sexy time. Eight years ago?? Who hasn't done their job? It just hit the shelves in America today. This is that good. Better than Tom Ford? It might be. It just might be chat. Better than tobacco honey? I think so. Especially the price difference. This might be it. Better than Christian Dior and his tobacco? Perhaps.

I get a cherry vibe initially, which is a note I don't normally get along with. But this is lovely, a photorealistic sticky sexy honey note that is reminiscent of tobacco vanille with the warm spices but I much prefer this. An autumn/winter banger!

She's thick. Super realistic honey fragrance. Tobacco comes later in the dry down, but it's such a great, affordable, wearable honey tobacco.

Probably the most realistic honey , beautiful scent

If you ever dreamt of smelling exactly like a beeswax candle, this is the scent for you. I know it's supposed to be a honey and tobacco fragrance, but to me it smells just like the candles we rolled up from beeswax sheets at Christmas time in elementary school. When it dries down it slowly transforms from candle wax to thick creamy honey, but the beeswax doesn't vanish entirely. Maybe there is a hint of vanilla flavored pipe tobacco and dried fruits in the background, but only if you're really looking for something else besides all the sweet, waxy, honeyed richness. Unlike many other waxy scents I don't find this stuffy or sickly, and the honey is realistic and doesn't turn grossly animalic, which has happened to me with other honey fragrances. I see why this gets compared to TF Tobacco Vanille, the texture is very similar. But Sexual Healing is so much simpler, it doesn't have any spicy or aromatic notes like TV has, so it's not the same at all. Sexual? Not really, it's more of a cozy nostalgic scent to me. But what do I know, I also wouldn't listen to Marvin Gaye to get in the mood. It's not a bad fit for the namesake song. This is not my perfect honey scent, I think I like them a little more sparkling and floral, but if you prefer thick, waxy, eternally long lasting honey, it's ideal. I also think it would work great for layering as it's nice and simple.

In this creation Christophe Raynaud tried to translate the iconic track of Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing" into a perfume and in my opinion it could not have been better! Sexual Healing it’s rich, sensual, seductive & sweet along with a wonderful to***co accord and a soft spiciness. From the initial spray you’ll get a rich, thick and very realistic honey note along with a faint touch of fresh spiciness. Honey is very prominent adding a sensual vibe right from the start! Later on to***co nuances slowly come up balancing the sweetness and adding a seductive smokey character to the scent! Also I’m getting a touch of spices in the background which I absolutely love. On the drydown the scent becomes creamy, warm and cozy due to a lovely vanilla accord balancing things out without overpowering the amazing combo of honey and to***co. It’s perfectly blended, seductive and sophisticated at the same time. Projection is definitely above average with great longevity! It’s unisex, great option for fall & winter & perfect choice for a date night! Also I really like the presentation and the quality of the bottle! If you’re looking for something sensual and sweet it’s definitely worth checking out! Ig fragrancesguru

This is a very realistic honey scent with a softened edge of smoke and vanilla. I thought I would love this - the opening is very organic and funky, which puts me off slightly. However, it mellows out into a very delicious sweet and cosy smell. I don’t know if I would venture past my sample - it remains to be seen. I’m not rushing to order it though.

Not too shabby. There is a little bit of a pissy thing going on upon application. Doesn’t last long. Honey, clove, a little funk. The honey is not sugary sweet. Sometimes a little smoke. Sometimes a hint of vagina. And then a little vanilla. 🤷🏼once this settles down it is very, very nice.

Photorealistic honey at first sniff, it’s almost insane. It really smells like raw, crystallized Manuka honey. There’s a certain longing to it, a desire for something sticky, sickly sweet. The tobacco notes give it a sensual edge (like a cigarette after sex). It’s simple but it works.

Thick, raw honey - like the solid honey you buy in jars. And then some spices on top. It’s realistic, almost edible. If you like the scent of raw honey, it’s worth trying out.

Very similar with less tobacco note to Guerlain Tobacco Honey. Which is a great thing to know because Sexual Healing is def more affordable. It is strong but not in an aggressive way, you just smell it for a very loong time. I think it works great on both genders, it's honey sweet but not sugary, sirupy....it's pretty realistic honey and also kind of linear for me. I like it and I am happy I bought discovery set from A.M.A. - if I would ever need honey perfume, I am pretty sure I will reach out to this one for a full bottle.

Song of Songs, nectar dripping from the mouth of your beloved, sunlight caught beneath skin; this is a fragrance without darkness or shadow. It is a viscous, syrupy honey which summons the dramatic image of baltic amber, like distilled fire. Heat radiates from my pulse points where I anointed the oil. Heavy and seductive.
