Harem Soiree

Wow. Just wow. The other reviews nailed it, but there is no describing this until you smell it yourself. Go out and at least get yourself a sample. Wow. P.S. This is listed as a patchouli scent on the arteprofumi website (the only note they disclose on the website). There are only trace hints of it...like thin gilding on the edge of a leaf. I think that with the myrh accounts for what some folks refer to as hints of medicinal insence (think East Asian medicine, where incense is legit burned for health). But I dont think I would have noticed it if the website hadnt specifically mentioned it. As to strength...it starts strong, but rapidly breaks down into a skin scent around hour 4...andstays at that strength for roughly 8 more hours.

Honey myrrh, ambergris, & red roses. It begins medicinal for few seconds then rests salty, peppery, and sharp roses. I can detect the red roses, the ambergris, salt, & myrrh. Later i can detect some medicinal incense again. Very interesting & it does smell like "Amber Fetiche" by Annick Goutal.. The colder it goes, the henna note starts to show clear. Edit (26th Oct 2018) This is an extreme spicy blend with ambergris, myrrh, and herbal. It does have roses but kept to minimal. It's more of spices with hints of ambergris. Henna indeed is there then it dries down. Interesting.

There are almost no top notes, and it goes straight into dark, deep, sultry rose amber, surrounded by incense, with an intimate and velvety skin-like musky scent of ambergris. The balm is very deep and complex, not sweet but at the same time has hints of golden beeswax and nuances of sugar-free dark chocolate. I would almost say this is gothic and luxurious compared to a lot of simple ambers out there today. The notes look simple, but I believe they still have a lot of unpublished material in them. Steady but very gorgeous.

This is gorgeous, and for someone who usually can't take ambergris, that's saying a lot. For my nose it's a spicy, slightly skin salty rose. Big, Big, Big fragrance. I can't pull this off unless I'm dressed up or dressed sharp. But this fragrance demands respect. Love it.

Delicious from the opening through the whole day and on clothing for days after. A restrained spicy incense, remarkably consistent over time. Warm rose note lingers for hours. Very comforting scent.

This is what Ariel from The Little mermaid smelled like when she was going through her experimentation phase in Ocean college, you know the vibes.

Fantastic mix of oriental notes. I have a tiny sample but I wish I had a big bottle of it.

Dark potent & beautiful amber fragrance, with extreme longevity and sillage.

A bombastic balsamic amber with a dry character and a remarkable resin-y / incensey presence. Compared to other more popular ambers, Harem Soiree feels overall less sugary and probably a tad rougher with an almost sulphurous quality. All aspects that play in the fragrance's favor. Simple and with a clear artisanal vibe, thick and potent. Probably not groundbreaking but if you're into resinous stuff, give this a chance as this probably one of the most powerful ambers available in the westerner market. Solid. Rating: 7/10

Very interesting but simply constructed, sensual and lingering floral woody musk scent. The scent opens with a rose and moves to an incensy middle where I can detect myrrh and settles on a musky base with ambergris and synthetic musk. The overall effect of a salty musky incensy rose is quite unique and a bit sexual. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and excellent longevity. Like it’s name, it implies a sense of illicit fun. Enjoy!

This smells like an actual hunk of myrrh. Softened, warm, and a little crystallized. I used to buy myrrh in a small wooden box with carved diamond holes in the top so that as it warms, it released the scent into the air - it smells just like that. Unfortunately I don't love the addition of the rose in this, so it's not for me but it's an incredible scent regardless!

Intense vanilla bomb, honey-concentrated liquid extract with almost animal warmth. Immerse yourself in a bathtub full of warm vanilla oil, where the surface is full of black vanilla seeds and shiny brown pods, you can't even see your belly button. In the aftertaste, coffee and coke fight. Sillage and longevity are massive. After two hours, however, it breaks into the form of an Arabian spice bazaar or grandma's old kitchen cabinet where she stored seasonings - too many very concentrated scents in one place, pepper, nutmeg prevail, sweetness goes down to earthiness, but it's overdone. 250 Euro for 100 ml is a bit too much.

شب حرم یا شب زفاف ( اَغم سواقی) انفجاری بالزامیکی و سرکه مانند از پچولی با طعمی ترش و کپک زده که حجم زیادی منتول همراهی می‌کنه . عطری با شروعی جانسوز و روندی بشدت دلبرانه . اگه این پچولی نبود عطرسازها واقعا چه خاکی بر سر میکردند .خخخخ . شب حرم فضایی عربی و متمولانه با نور آتش رو تداعی می‌کنه . بوی مرطوب و سنگین گل‌برگ‌های رز روی لیوانی از شراب . عطر. بشدت با مولکولهای سنگین فرمول شده . بازی هرم بویایی تو این عطر به کندی پیش می‌ره . قلب عطر با حس پچولی خاکی و کپکی اندکی حس شیرین میگیره و آکورد کهربا و رزین دلبرییه عجیبی رو به نمایش میزاره . نکته بسیار زیبا نقش آفرینی رز هست . گوشه و کنار بوضوخ حس میشه ولی نقش محوری نداره. جنس بوی رز خیلی لطیف و مرطوبه و ابدا حس حرمی رو ایجاد نمیکنه ‌ . یعنی عاشق جنس پچولی با بن مایه سبز و خاکی و کپکی تو این عطر شدم . بوی کاه و علوفه مانند کپک زده + کهربا + رز بشدت یاد آور بوی سایکودلیک جووی هست .ولی تو جزییات با هم فرق دارند . سایکو خیلی شیرین تر هست . شب حرم حالت کثیف و عمیق پچولی + امبرگریس که من خیلی احساسش نمیکنم کمی حس شور مانند رو ایجاد می‌کنه . درای داون عطر با حفظ فضای اولی حالت رزینی از صمغ مر رو همراه می‌کنه . همانطور که در بالا گفتم این عطر. از نظر شباهت بسیار به سایکو شبیهه . کیفییت بینهایت عالی و شگفت انگیز پرفورمنس بسیار عالی. با سلیقه من این بهترین عطر از آرته پروفومی بود که تست داشتم. ‌

Just a little too smoky and surprisingly simple to me. The rose is basically non existent, and for someone that lives for the complex dark rosé experience this fell a little flat to me. Positives: This does smell rich and yes; you are paying premium for high quality. The scent itself is also long lasting. I still smelt it wafting off my skin after sleeping for over 6 hours, however the drydown is simply warm thick resinous incense, salty amber and with a whisper of vanilla. I don’t perceive any complexity on my skin. I personally would have preferred higher concentration of rose with a little castoreum, vetiver and patch for a more contrasting depth. It just seems to be missing something. I like it but I really wanted to love it. The search for the most dark, deep and sultry rose continues..

یه عطر وحشی و عربده کش امبری بالزامیکی تو فضای تنگو ماسک مثلن که یه غلظت بالای انیمالیکی هم بهش اضافه شده باشه. البته این فضای انیمالیک توی بیس از بین میره تقریبن ولی تا چند ساعت واقعن میتونه دافعه شدید بیاره. رز تو همون شروع کار یکمی قدرت داره ولی تو میکس جواب داده. ---------- Scent & Quality: 8/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10 Creativity & Uniqueness: 7/10 Affordability: 4/10 ----------- Overall: 7.4/10

Came back for an update... I have been thinking of Harem Soiree the same way you can’t help thinking about someone you just met and had a crush on... Will be revisiting it and wearing it alone for a few days instead of just spot testing it along with other scents... Also I feel like the myrrh did evolve into sweet more complex spicyness ... definitely have to check it out properly ...

I sampled it 2 years ago at Jovoy Paris but to my disappointment they ran out of it. This year I was back to Europe and it was my goal to hunt it down and get it. So I did. It still is as amazing as I remember it. Dark, sexy, syrupy without being sickly sweet, smokey concoction. I'm not getting a whole lot of rose here...Just dark, heavy amber. Sexy AF.

Aggressive, dark amber with a wallop of incense supported by salty, ambergris notes. The rose shines a few minutes in but the myrrh is relentless. For sure, HS is similar to Goutal's Ambre Fetiche, but HS lacks the finesse that AF perfected.

Not my kind of scent... even tough the first minute was heaven mix of ambergris and rose, I was getting all excited but then it faded into myrrh alone... My enjoyment dropped faster than a soufflé... had to wash my wrist 😢
