Fantastic Green Bird

Fantastic Green Bird was launched in 2014 and is classified, by its perfumer, as a green-chypre. Its creative concept alludes to the world of fantasy, which brings the green macaw to another scene, icy and covered by snow. Here, the Carnival masks ratify the festive side and the fragrance reveals itself as fresh, aromatic, and bubbly! To bring this creation to life, the perfumer Manuela Pfannes-Völkel combined notes of agave, aloe vera, and verbena, in addition to the tequila accord, on the top of the olfactory pyramid. Then, she brought a floral mix of hyacinth, jasmine, and honeysuckle, in the body of the fragrance, on a base composed of amber, Artemisia, and sandalwood. On the skin, the fragrance of Fantastic Green Bird begins in a very alcoholic, floral, and slightly sweet way. Undoubtedly, a tropical drink spilled on the skin on purpose. So, we have the Agave plant – from which tequila is obtained – reinforced by the accord of the drink itself, already distilled. From Aloe Vera, I feel resinous and green nuances, able to remind me, visually, of the goo sap that is obtained from the plant. This green combo grows, during evolution, gaining more aromatic nuances. The bitterness of Artemisia can be felt in a few minutes, but it doesn't bother because there is a floral bouquet over it. And it is at this moment, in my opinion, that a perfumer's experience in knowing how to explore the strengths of raw materials in independent creations is perceived. The hyacinth, with its floral-green scent, intertwines with the sweet facets of honeysuckle (reminiscent of honey) and gains strength with the white-floral opulence of jasmine. The tropical drink from before turns into a floral arrangement with the creaminess of sandalwood. In my opinion, Fantastic Green Bird loses some of its irreverence as it evolves on the skin. But it doesn't lose power, a point that deserves to be praised. In addition, although less irreverent, it remains a genderless scent that is different from what is on the market, a fundamental characteristic nowadays, especially within the Niche / Indie segments.
