Wild Cat Musk

Wild Cat Musk was created in 2011 and brings the mysterious sensuality of the black panther roaming into the dense, almost impenetrable jungle. At the same time, it traces a relationship between musk and one of its most exploited animal sources in the past, which is the African Civet. The fragrance of Wild Cat Musk brings notes of chili pepper and grass, in the top; Musk and hibiscus, in the heart; Woods, patchouli, and, again, musk in the base. On the skin, Wild Cat Musk behaves like a great classic chypre, like one that explodes in floral, green, and bitter nuances, usually full of bergamot, muguet, moss, and aldehydes. Here, the smell of musk is animalic, as it has become known by decades in the industry, before the monotonous white musk crystals, which give lightness, the feeling of a second skin, and the smell of cleanliness. The perfumer managed to create a fragrance that works as a time capsule. However, it is not to a jungle that it transports me, but for a time of Hollywood cinema, when divas like Katherine Hepburn, Rita Hayworth, Greta Garbo, and Ingrid Bergman, among others, were eagerly awaited on the red carpets of the main awards. That's how I imagine their perfumes! Wild Cat Musk has a powerful output, but it calms down in a short time, evolving to a powderier background. It has a long duration, is predominantly more feminine, but fans of the chypres of yore do not recognize gender in perfumery. I was surprised by what I found, when applying on the skin, based on what I expected by the composition. For several moments, I found myself thinking: “where are the notes of jasmine, hyacinth, rose, galbanum, etc. who have always been present in this type of fragrance?”. Ultimately, Wild Cat Musk does not visually convince me, but it does make me believe in the feline woman, walking sinuously and elegantly. It is vintage – like a black and white image – and wild.
