Al Andaleeb

This is a fascinating fragrance that shifts significantly from start to finish. At first spray, a burst of bright, sun-drenched citrus fills the air — juicy and golden, like sunlight caught in a glass. It evokes a vivid image: citrus fruits shimmering under a blue sky, bathed in gold. Soon after, a floral jasmine note joins in, radiant and graceful. The opening mirrors the colors of the bottle — sky blue, white, and a touch of gold — perfectly. How delightfully fresh and universally likable, I thought. It felt like a fairy twirling in the sky. And yet — this fairy, Andaleeb, seems to know me better than I know myself. She seems aware that I, in truth, am not so fond of “universally likable light scents.” After her airy dance above the clouds, she gazes at me and begins her descent. With her landing, moss begins to spread beneath her feet — earthy notes of vetiver, patchouli, and sandalwood rise gently like damp soil after rain. There is a shift from a citrus-drenched sprite of the skies to a grounded spirit of the earth, calm and serene. Of course, most fragrances follow the typical top-middle-base evolution, but Andaleeb seems to leap quickly and decisively from her bright top and floral middle to her earthy base. It’s not subtle — it’s a clear transformation. To be honest, I purchased this scent as a "safe choice" — something appropriate for public settings, even if it went against my personal taste. And so, the cheerful opening came as expected. But what surprised me — in a good way — was the base. Even in its later phase, the scent doesn't become overpowering. It remains within the realm of “safe” — probably. Barely. And for someone like me — who needs a “safe scent” but doesn’t want one — Andaleeb fulfills both duties gracefully. It checks all the boxes without betraying my sensibilities.

I bought it because of the review here said it is similar to Scandal and i was looking for the dupe of it. I am not sure about the similarity. Bottle is pretty. I have many fragrances from Lattafa, Ard Al Zaafaran, Al-Haramain, Rasasi, Armaf, Afnan, Asdaaf, Al-Rehab, El-Nabeel. I love them because they are affordable, no nonsense, i want my parfum to project and to stay (preferably even after i shower😅). In term of Scent, sillage and longevity, this is way more Western parfum than Mid.East. Scent : is sweet, fruity, flowery. One of Mid.East with NO Aoud, which is safe blind buy for those who don't like aoud. It's good for layering if you need to boost up a sweet flowery fragrance. Sillage : very close to the skin. Doesn't project, doesn't leave a trail& doesn't float around like some others Mid.East. Longevity : a totaly dissapointment for me, within 30min after spray, i need to put my nose on my skin to smell it. I'll let it macerate for few weeks/month, and i'll come back with the edit.

What a nice surprise! This is a great entry-level fragrance for those looking to explore more middle eastern scents. I didn't pick up on the orange notes but the rose and bergamot really intertwine with the base notes to create something really beautiful and unique! I can see this being a signature scent for cool to warm weather, but I'm not sure if it would go sour in hot weather, I did not have the chance to try it on during the summer. There's something about this fragrance that is so comforting and sweet. I immediately thought of "new mom and baby". I haven't smelled Scandal, but I think this would satisfy a wide range of tastes willing to have a slight adventure. Of course, you get the bonus of a gorgeous bottle to put on display! 7/10 thumbs up, -3 thumbs for lack of versatility, depth, and possibly inaccurate note pyramid.

The patchouli is very weak but the Vetiver is blowing the doors off. I love the smell of vetiver and patchouli, but they are not the same. Vetiver has the smell of freshly dried hay, lots of it, stuffed into a barn in August in Texas. What a delicious note that seems to be confusing people greatly. Once you learn to distinquish Vetiver from Patchouli you find so many lovely fragrances that you suddenly enjoy due to your new found scent recognition. That plastic doll head scent that some notice is infact, vetiver. This scent is not for children, it is grown up, gritty and brave. All the while wearing her Chanel ballet slippers and pearls. I do believe the confusion on the scent profile is a result of social media hyping this to teens.

I find this perfume to be really beautiful! I'm really happy that it doesn't have any Apple in the opening notes, and to me the dry down reminds me of marshmallows, sweet but not exactly candy. It's definitely feminine but not too young. Surprisingly I cannot identify any particular floral because everything seems so well blended. If I spray it in the morning I will smell it until the evening, especially in this cold weather. Just spray it under your shirt and over your shirt and you're good to go! The smell will be there the next day~
