Heavenly Delusion

Oh .... Heavenly Delusion is good. Sexy, smooth and sophisticated vanilla, spices and wood. You can smell the quality ingredients even if the scent itself is not to your taste. When people say, 'it is so well-blended!", this is what they mean. It is soooo smooth. I really love this. My wife will absolutely steal this if she catches wind of it. Heavenly Delusion is not dark, rich or brooding. If it was a voice, it would be a countertenor ... not too high, and not too low. A unisex voice right in the middle. Both Heavenly Delusion and Luminoir smell even better on skin than on strip, So just skip the paper and don't waste the spray. Go straight to skin. Ordering samples of Heavenly Delusion and Luminoir directly from the Astre website was easy and fast. I highly recommend getting the samples. Both fragrances are excellent. 9/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.4 from me.

First off, I ordered a sample set, and it came beautifully packaged, which I appreciate. This fragrance is extremely sexy and immediately caught my attention. It starts with a bright opening that transitions to a blend of creamy and slightly musky bourbon vanilla. ASTRE masterfully composed a story that matches the vibe and scent of this, which honestly just makes the wearing experience for me even better. I ordered a full bottle earlier this week, super excited to have it in my collection :)

as a huge vanilla lover, I absolutely love how this fragrance was done. on initial spray, it was very strong as expected, but after about 10-20 minutes, I caught a whiff of one of the most gorgeous and seductive aromas. It was musky, creamy, sweet, and just ever so slightly animalic to give that scent of desire. I was pleasantly surprised, especially for a new house. Their presentation is gorgeous and it truly smells like something that pushes the limits of modern day perfumery.

Wow... such a complex, seductive, and masterfully blended fragrance. This is drastically different than a typical vanilla you’ll try, and as a lover of many other vanilla frags, this stands out unapologetically. It’s slightly animalic with that super addictive coffee, I love it.

I absolutely loved Luminoir, but unfortunately this was an instant scrubber for me. Something about this just doesn't work on my skin at all. It's somehow rubbery, spicy, and sweet in all the wrong ways. Like if someone created an incense that was supposed to smell like burning plastic and dirty sex-soaked skin which has been left to ferment overnight, mixed with a plate of food on some guy's desk that's been sitting there for two weeks. Plasticky and fermented are the two adjectives which come to mind. Almost like a playdoh which has been corpse-scented for Halloween. Or a cup of coffee with cream which you accidentally left in your car on a hundred degree day. I'm sure it's well made if it's from the same house as Luminoir, but my nose rejects this so, so harshly. Definitely not blind buy safe, just check out their sampler set first. Maybe I'm having a negative reaction to the musk and the coffee in the base, but whatever it is ruins the whole fragrance for me, unfortunately. I guess I've never been a huge fan of coffee fragrances, but I wouldn't even describe this one as coffee-forward. I'll probably accept this one as a loss for my nose/skin chemistry and move on, but damn, I hope I never have to smell this on someone as I'm walking about. One of my strongest negative reactions to a scent yet.
