Into The Oud

It was love for the first scent. I would add that I was looking for a more powerful, unisex scent, not necessarily something I would put on every day, but a real specialty. And this perfume is for sure amazing for me. First, it dominated by oud and orange, then it becomes sweeter, the caramel and oakmoss are stunning. It's really characterful. I enjoyed on myself mostly on colder, rainy days, with a mossy green sweater and accented, smoky makeup. This scent is really special, I am in LOVE.

I came up with the perfect slogan for this perfume! Are you ready? Here it comes! "If you are not into the oud, but want to get into the oud, get Into The Oud" Like many others, I am not into oud. Only way for me to love it, is when it is used in a subtle way where it elevates the depth of the perfume and adds a dash of darkness. Without the oud, this perfume would have been a pure gourmond fragrance. Top notes are rum, orange and pepper. Middle notes are toffee, saffron and davana. And the base are oud, amber and oakmoss. Like I said, without the oud this would have been a pure gourmond. The toffee with rum is heavy and dominant resulting in a sweet perfume. The pepper, saffron and amber mainly add to the spicy component. A warm spice sweet perfume. However, then comes the oud! The dash of darkness! A burned woodyness! Trust me on this one, without the oud this would have been a decent perfume, however with the oud it's magical! Don't mind me doing this review during summer, since it is a perfect winter fragrance! It is cozy, seductive and comforting. While Fragranctica only mentions Straight to Heaven Extreme (Kilian), as a scent that resembles this, I don't agree. I would actually call this the more qualitative, intenser and better Armani Stronger With You. It is an parfum extrait like all other perfumes by Astrophil and Stella!

Sweet, fresh and oudy. This is a mix of sweet sugariness and a more traditional men's cologne. I love davana in fragrances, and it keeps this one from veering in to total sweetness. The is discreetly oudy. This is the only scent from the line that feeds like a finished product. A nice office friendly scent for the guys.

Handsome oud for those who doesn't like oud in general. It has toffee/caramel vibe in it which is nice. There is also a big chunk of rose hiding in there too. It's a like but not love. Have seen it done before.

Far too dark, spicy and tangy for me to be considered unisex, it's very masculine. Unpleasant cowhouse oud, ugh. White musk or an unsweet vanilla would have rounded off the scent even more.

I didn’t enjoy this, it smells too medicinal to me.
