Extraordinary Tulip

This fragrance is pretty magical. It may seem simple, but I think it's ingenious. On the opening, you get a very green floral scent, almost like you're getting the entire story behind the bouquet; you can smell the leaves, the fresh-cut stems, the cool water in the vase, the tulip bulbs. I would say it's a perfect spring fragrance, a very wet and organic scent, beautifully composed. The opening reads a tiny bit lactonic on my skin; this may be due to the amber. I was surprised by this note, given the greenness and freshness of this floral, but the very mild milkiness wasn't unwelcome. This perfume becomes a little sweeter on the skin with time. The greenness fades away a bit, and you're left with the sweeter, denser floral scent. I would describe this as a green, fresh, dewy floral, even with the amber notes. Even though it opens very green, I wouldn't say it's sharp at all; it's a very smooth, round, green, watery opening. This is overall a lovely fragrance, better than I expected, and a safe blind buy for tulip lovers.

This is one of those fragrances that you have to allow it to work it’s magic before you cast your opinions. When first sprayed, it’s screams woody men’s cologne. However after 30 minutes or so, it converts into this wonderful fragrance which then becomes absolutely pleasing on the nose. You actually start to smell tulips which seems to have been dipped in citrus sparkling water which then dries down to have this musky vetiver aroma. This lasted about 5-7 hours whilst becoming a close to the skin scent in the last hour. I wouldn’t have bought this by the smell of the first spray, however the dry down is amazing allowed me to invest and commit to a bottle.

Smells like sour green apples (real apples, not an artificial “green apple” scent like you’d find in candy and sodas) mixed with dirt and the petrichor smell after it rains, plus a big dose of pretty florals in the background.
