On the initial spray, of any Metal or Orient fragrance, it's obvious the luxurious liquid inside truly matches the opulence outside! *The free 30 ml that comes as a gift with any 200 ml. bottle can be any scent (other than the three exclusives) and you get to choose the leather case's color and engravings.* ATELIER'S BEST KEPT SECRET... Upon speaking with a delightful sales associate at the Brooklyn Atelier, I learned that they also offer a boxed set of SIX 30 ml bottles at a substantial savings. These can be purchased in the boutiques and via phone orders. Originale, Matriere and Azur 30 ml set of 6 = $275 US ($70-$85 each for a 30 ml bottle) Metal and Orient Colections 30 ml set of 6 = $450 US ($115-$130 each for a 30 ml bottle) Considering six of the Collection Metal (which now numbers seven scents) could run $735, the asking price of $475 allows you to save $260! That is enough to go out to dinner and a show in NYC...while smelling utterly fabulous. This, to me, seems the way to go: more jus, less money and you have a variety to choose from, and aren't "stuck" with a larger bottle of only one or two. NB: Rendez-Vous (Exclusive line) is not available in the coffret deal and is now sold only in the stores in Paris and NYC. Musc Imperial and Sous le Toit de Paris (the other two exclusives) are available in stores and online in all three sizes (30, 100 & 200 ml); however, I did not ask if these two were available in the coffret offer... I was too busy trying to figure out if I should complete the Metal collection first, or get all five in the fabulous Orient collection and a sixth 30 ml for a gift for me Mum!!

Great point "konchokjenpa", I agree 100%. To my heart there is absolutely nothing on the market that resembles Emeraude Agar. Like any fragrance in your collection you will love EA even more if it comes with a story. I believe every fragrance even more memorable if we remember it from some special occasion of our lives (or any ordinary day become that special after we smell something wonderful). I remember EA from a moment from my past, now and then, every time the sun goes lower, skies get bluer and the air gets crispier I know it's time for the golden fall to come down on us and it's the time I smell EA again. Right after first spray it brings me back to that moment in past I will always remember when I spray EA. Although I wasn't able to find anything else that is similar to this fragrance (so far and why would I really, I am not searching, it is right where it belongs). To be honest Atelier Cologne is one of my favorite fragrance houses, I love their style, I love how they create absolutely stunning fragrances without large sham like other brands do. If you can read past the word "Cologne" in Atelier Cologne brand then you are in for a retreat. Most of people feel this house makes Cologne fragrances which is so far from true but hey it's all fine we all have our similarities and differences, there is enough for all of us. Fragrance -Emeraude Agar Atelier Cologne Bottle from - 2016 This fragrance reminds me a bit of a beautiful and green enchanted forest.Emeraude Agar is a magical interpretation of oud with a stunning touch of green angelica,eucalyptus and geranium and with hint of rose and pepper laying on top of sandalwood. Longevity - 8/10(8+ hours) Silage/Projection - 7,5/10(moderate projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours) Weather -best in early spring,autumn and winter. Age - 25+ Compliments - 8/10 Scent - 9,5/10 Main notes according to me - oud,rose,eucalyptus,pepper,geranium,sandalwood. The drydown is a bit creamy and more or less the same like the opening and I get some woodiness,green notes and guaiac wood. Emeraude Agar is a little bit linear scent but in a good way. Emotions -green enchanted forest,mysterious,mystical, sophisticated,dark vibe elegance,enigmatic. Occasion -perfect for special occasions and formal and semi-formal events. Try before you buy.

I love this fragrance so much. This is unlike anything else I have in my collection and it is so good! I would characterize this as a fresh, bright oud, aromatic, herbal, green and smokey. It's pretty linear and doesn't change too much as I wear it, though the most intense green notes eventually dissipate and leave a great incense oud skin scent. But the performance is good, and I catch whiffs of it for a least a few hours after spraying. There's something in here that is very earthy and almost coniferous, balsamic. The pepper and geranium are standouts too. Overall a really good, unique composition that I think is bound to please a lot of people, but is still different enough that it doesn't smell generic.

At first I wasn't crazy about this scent but I applied it with some Neutrogena Body Oil straight out of the shower and it was perfect. I'd definitely describe as being woody and even though leather is not noted anywhere, I felt I could smell it. I'm not a fan of anything with pepper or eucalyptus but again this surprised me. It gives off an air of sophistication, which is always a plus. The price is steep but I purchased the Discovery Set and it comes with a $35 voucher so this might be my secret guilty little pleasure. I'm very impressed by the Atelier line and it's my first niche experience!

I really enjoyed this fragrance.. I am not a fan of the price, but this oud was quite pleasant and addictive to smell. THey didn't mask the oud at all.. This isn't a fragrance with a hint of oud, no. IT is there and prominent but they crafted the oud in a way to be easy to wear, smooth and clean. The smell was quite addictive and versatile yet at the same time it lasted on the skin. Very nice take on oud one of the better ones I have tried. For an oud scent - 4.5/5 Longevity 4.5/5 Projection 4/5

After almost a year, and wearing EA once in a while, it has grown on me. This is very safe for the office, very subtle but at the same time very distinctive, and the bubble it creates around me smells quite good. The only problem is it's longevity, so I have to reapply often.

I like it very much. To me it smells more like Berber than anything else. I get an earthy smokey vetiver with a touch of rose, reminds me of Terre d’Hermes Intense Vetiver layered with Toy Boy. This would be a good signature scent.

Wonderfully warm, woody, and spicy, with a fresh quality that makes it a great choice for everyday wear. It's a beautiful scent and pretty unique in my experience.

Love it. Such a chic and elegant scent to me.

Try layering it with Tuscan Leather!

Emeraude Agar is unlike anything I've tried from the Atelier Cologne, a green/woody/slightly spicy blend that defies usual characterization or context. It's unusually fitted to be a year-round, unisex, highly wearable option. Its fresh bergamot mixes with a few florals, herbs (angelica, rose, geranium) and a healthy dose of black pepper, with sandalwood and oud in the background. The result for me is something with a prominent spiciness due to black pepper but mainly a woody/green balance achieved through the bergamot, woods, and florals. I don't detect much oud, specifically, but its robustness would go hand-in-hand with the angelica root. Despite a little bit of provocation, Emeraude Agar is pretty agreeable with respect to situation, gender, and time of year. So versatility is Emeraude Agar's greatest quality. Somewhat akin (in my mind) to a more intense, daring Lalique White, EA's spicy/woody/green balance comes off rather clean, actually, and by that I mean that the competing elements are in harmony among themselves. Performance is moderate on projection, a bit better on longevity, certainly not up to the stronger entries in the house (Oud Saphir, Tobacco Nuit, etc.) but a far cry from the relative weakness of the citrus-dominant freshies. And it's already heavily discounted on FragranceNet for US customers ($120 for 100ml, $157 for 200ml vs retail $250 for 100ml, $325 for 200ml), but it's still a big ask for a versatile fragrance that doesn't truly dazzle me all that much in any particular way. Still, some are bound to like this a lot and since I could see it suiting anyone, everyone should try it. 7 out of 10

A beautiful fragrance with a nice oud accord (warm, present but not in-your-face or pungent), supported by a noticeable eucalyptus note, and other notes that are not identifiable individually, but give a round and warm support (guaiac wood, sandalwood, rose). I also get an impression of saffron (Angelica, black pepper and geranium I guess). It reminds me of several fragrances without being able to link it to a specific one. Not unique, but masterfully blended. The scent is heavenly, that said on my skin the projection is soft and the longevity moderate at best (disclaimer: I tested it from a decant, not a full bottle). The scent is heaven-level. If performance was better on my skin, I would have already gone for a full bottle, but I'll first test it further and finish with my decant before making a decision. Still, a great oud accord fragrance, that is office safe (strong point). Fall/Winter/early Spring days, 30+, unisex Edit: I recently tested Vilhelm Smoke Show. Atelier Cologne Emeraude Agar is basically a slightly less complex clone of Smoke Show, (which is a year older than EA, and also blended by Epinette), with a lower performance. I hesitated to go for a full bottle of EA, but after smelling SS and finding a great offer online, I decided to stick to my decant of EA and go for a full bottle of SS instead. Still, EA is a great alternative, assuming you can get it for a decent price. Funnily enough, at retail price, SS is less expensive than EA, but online/ebay, it seems to be the opposite.

Nose Note #667 So far all three purchases from Atelier Cologne were outstanding. The blend is exceptional and I could only wish the UAE brands reached this quality for their usual 1/4 of the price or at least 1/2. I've found this for $73 a 100ml. Although it says it's EDC (eau de cologne) this performs like a good EDP. Most other scents from Atelier Cologne are like $245 a 100ml. I find such prices ridiculous and completely unjustified. This is deceptively citrusy and airy. It's like Dior Oud Ispahan meets Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree, expect it's more Hermes than Dior. Rose is very present, it's a little sour and fresh. It's citrusy, but it's mildly heavy scent. A freshy that doesn't feel that fresh. Feels like something from a Karl Lagerfeld "Bois" series, but on steroids, or indeed something from Hermes, but again, on steroids. This is a long lasting scent. It's not very memorable, but it is very very satisfying. 8.5/10, not niche, rather easy to wear, very likeable

This one is pretty good, but not great. It feels substantial but performance is suprisingly moderate. There's no oud note listed but it's here, and everything is amped up (except longevity) by the use of eucalyptus which gives it a slight camphoric vibe and really helps it cut through the cold weather. I don't think this perfume should be used outside of cool/cold weather. It reminds me of some of the Guerlain Ouds and a bit like Kilian's Arabian nights collection but not as potent or well done. I mainly get pepper, eucalyptus, oud accord, geranium,angelica and smokey gaiac. I think there's perhaps some incense or resins present as well. As I stated it's not bad, but I prefer Kilian's oud fragrances like perhaps pearl oud, incense oud, or musk oud over this for both smell and performance. Scent 7/10 Performance 6/10

I also see the striking similarity to Rose Anonyme, also by Atelier Cologne. While Rose Anonyme is a dry rose and oud fragrance (I adore it in winter), Emeraude Agar is the green equivalent, obviously minus the rose. It's more of an oud plus greenery or pine, not quite as dry. I like it but not as much as other Atelier Cologne offerings. To anyone interested in sampling this line, I highly recommend the sampler pack which can be obtained on their official website. They offer the "Discovery Set", which includes postcard samples of ALL their fragrances (34 total) for $35 with free shipping to boot, as well as a $35 gift voucher for your next purchase. Atelier Cologne Emeraude Agar - Very interesting scent! Reminds me a TINY bit of Stella by Stella McCartney, just the Rose note. There is a medicinal woodsy note, maybe tea tree. Very powerful scent (arm length) in terms of darkness. Is def unisex and for nighttime colder months. I like it, it's a bold strong scent. I wouldn't buy it or keep if gifted, but it is very unique scent and a treat for my nose. Would be good for ppl 30+ I picture myself wearing this at a sexy dim restaurant. It doesn't last very long (less than 6-8 hours) so it's overpriced, but the uniqueness helps it not to be TOO overpriced.

I think it smells like a darker version of Moschino Toy Boy.

Sample Testing - can't accurately comment on performance/longevity - opinion is strictly about smell. Emeraude Agar Even though I experienced this from a small sample vial, I can tell this would be a performer if in possession of a full bottle. Comparison to Jo Malone's Oud & Bergamot is on point. Except the Atelier is more robust - thicker. Has more oomph. That could be more annoying depending on your taste because I find this scent to be linear - doesn't change much. There is a slight detour in the late drydown (i.e. after 5 hrs minimum) where in the air this fragrance has this slight minty rose quality to it - that's in the air though. If you smell it up close, you still get that "Oud & Bergamot" characteristic. Smell wise, I'm a little disappointed since it I thought it would add a significant twist to what is known. 6.5/10 YT Channel - The Scentrovert

The woodiest scent in Atelier Cologne's line. I get sour bergamot and lime in the opening, mixed with oud and guajac. Even though it's called Emeraude Agar, I get more of the soft, leathery, almost creamy guajac than the harsher agar/oud. The rose and geranium are very light supporting notes, this is mostly woods and citrus. But the eucalyptus is strong. It lends the fragrance an oily, aromatherapeutic quality that makes me think that it would be a nice room fragrance, it reminds me of a sauna and smells somehow relaxing to me. I think I would enjoy smelling this on someone else, maybe on a man, but I wouldn't wear it myself as it's not my style. It's dry and not sweet at all. The notes might sound heavy, but I think it's a rather light and inoffensive fragrance that can be worn year round.
