Jasmin Angélique

I awake to an unseasonably mild early autumn day. My window is littered with rain droplets, twinkling like diamonds in this magical autumnal light. I have missed the earlier downpour and now the heat of the sun is burning off the mist from the harbour. In the distance, dark grey rain clouds retreat across the sea. The sky is powder blue as majestic cumulus clouds ride in slow motion along the edge of the world with a purpose all their own. I wash and know instantly what perfume to wear. For some reason Jasmin Angélique is the perfect choice for this unusual weather and for my confident yet aloof mood. The jasmine is identical in smell to a vial of pure jasmine essential oil that I purchased many years ago from India. It was incredibly expensive but was one of my most prized possessions for that period of my life. This jasmine is beautifully accompanied by the angelica and galbanum but for me, jasmine is most definitely the star of the show. It is a raw and slightly dirty jasmine, ripped from the plant by a sudden heavy rain, laying on sodden earth that is warming up in the heat of the morning sun. There is something slightly sullen about this scent. Or perhaps pensive is a better word. It is a grown up scent. A scent that has seen the world and knows a thing or two about love and loss. I step outside and the air is cool from the moisture that hangs in the air but the sun is very warm on my skin. The trees are just beginning to turn and are a mixture of emerald green and burnished gold in response to our planet’s elliptical dance as it moves ever more boldly into the autumn equinox. The birds don’t seem to know what to do with theirselves. The warmth of the sun tells them to mate but the angle of autumn light whispers words of caution to their instincts. Winter is coming and this warm autumn day is but a rare gift. Jasmine Angélique is a perfume to wear with confidence and to wear for yourself. It is a meditation on the beauty and fragility of life and an acceptance of the circle of the seasons, with all the bitter-sweetness such knowledge brings.

If you have ever been to North Africa, smell this. It smells exactly like I've stuck my face into a jasmine bush in Tunisia or Egypt. During my three years in North Africa, the scent of jasmine in the night breeze was one of my favourite things, so having this on my skin is pure joy. One thing- like many Atelier fragrances, the beginning is nothing like the middle or end. In Clementine California, this is a shame, because the opening is so airy and beautiful and the end is the spicy/smoky scent of cheap men's cologne. However, in this one, the initial blast of peppery smoke (which initially turned me off) is gone in about five minutes on me. Then it's jasmine in the night air which settles into the incredibly sexy scent of crushed petals and leaves on my skin. At the end, the amber and lemon play with the petals until it all but disappears about four hours in. It's going to the top of my wish list, and definitely fbw...someday.

I'm having an identity crisis, and her name is jasmine. If you asked a year ago, honestly a half a year ago even, I would have told you I would never pick a jasmine soliflore or jasmine-dominant/prominent scent. Something in me has *changed.* My gateway was Jasmin 17 (which to me is really more orange blossom), then Ikat Jasmine, and now I'm a full-fledged jasmine lover. I love Jasmin Angelique. The angelica and galbanum surround it with such a beautiful grassy green feel. I enjoy layering this scent when I want to add some fresh springy indolic green effervescence to something else. Sadly, I will say the sweet incense and amber scents from the blotter did not really translate to the skin. Part of what drew me to this one was the it was green, fresh and deep sweetness all at once. On my skin I really on get the green/fresh vibe (even a tad soapy). A slight disappointment on skin, but will still use for layering!

All you have to do is read a few of my reviews and it is easy to see I tend to gravitate more toward "masculine" scents. JA is my sort of feminine. JA opens green and stays green. The dry down does bring out the jasmine in such a lovely, soft way though. I adore the smokiness of this which is listed as incents in the notes. That smoke is barely present but it does take the scent from outright feminine to just teetering the unisex line. The Tonka bean is really the grounding note in this. It balances the angelica to me not allowing the floral in this composition to be over powering or predominant. I do not get ashtray at all. I do not get 80s. I do sense something familiar but I cannot quite lay my finger on it. I would not personally buy a large bottle but for the times I want to smell overtly feminine, I will utilize my smaller bottle as JA is a go-to for that.

I have been harsh in judgement on this fragrance. I remember when it arrived at the Atelier Counter in Neimann Marcus. I was very excited to finally have a jasmin scent in the Atelier line-up. But when I sprayed it, I didn't wait for it to dry and stuck my nose right in; all I could smell was the Angelica top note. It is SO GREEN and grassy. I didn't get any of the jasmine I was looking for. Now, a couple years later, I read reviews that sound different from what I experienced. I found an amazing deal for a 3.4 oz bottle of JA AND a 3.4 oz bottle of Rose Anonyme on Ebay so I went ahead and took a chance. Well...I just got it, sprayed it and I am getting a whole new impression. After 5 minutes or so the angelica begins to wear off and the beautiful jasmine begins to appear. It is gorgeous; excited to wear it this spring and summer!

Two years ago I wrote that I didnt get the cigarette/tobacco note at all, but only a fresh shampoo-ish floral with some bitter zest. Since this is my safe-to-wear, fresh cologne for summer, I wore it on one of the first warm days this season. And while I was sitting outside talking to a colleague I kept wondering who was smoking a cigarr at this time in the morning. Moving inside, going about with daily tasks, I kept getting that cigarr-smell and it started to annoy me. Then I remembered a lot of reviews here on Fragrantica mention this smoke note. I sniffed my wrists, but nothing. It just floated around in the air and it felt so weird because it was so different from the rest of what this scent is giving. Not sure what to do now because cigarr really isn’t my favourite smell...

This is such a juicy, fresh, uplifting fragrance! The UK has had an unusually hot few weeks and this is perfect for the weather - it’s refreshing and lighthearted, but still complex and interesting. The savoury/herbaceous notes perfectly balance the florals. It does have more staying power than the average citrus cologne; I appreciate Atelier’s slightly different approach to fragrance concentration but for the price, I do wish it had just a bit more throw. Got a discounted bottle and it’s worth every penny, but if I’d paid full price I might feel differently about spraying so liberally!

This stuff is enigmatic and capricious, changing moment to moment on my skin. It opens up bitter and herbal, has a middle note that reminds me of a rose-scented room spray my grandmother had, and dries down into a green and bitter jasmine that lays close to the skin. Probably my favorite from this house, it escapes that 'orange juice and toothpaste' vibe so many of their more citrus-y scents evoke to me. It is instead, a medicinal take on this narcotic flower. Definitely worth a sniff!

Blind bought this during the Atelier scramble, and it feels so much like a sister fragrance to Orange Sanguine, which is my most worn/signature scent. I get that same initial intense blast of citrus, and then it takes a slightly different turn towards jasmine. I can definitely see the comparisons to Jasmin et Cigarette although I think the citrus still makes this one pretty different, and in my humble opinion, a bit better. Really, really loving it and wishing I'd gotten a larger size.

The first time I ever sprayed this, I got lots of fresh vetiver, and then I smelled that jasmine creeping out. It’s very earthy and crisp, which I adore. I’ve never isolated the scent of angelica, so maybe that’s where the earthy vibe is coming from? Also, the more I wear this, the more noticeable the lemon is becoming, but it mingles perfectly with jasmine. I don't know where people are getting a cigarette smell, I'm so confused! It's quite fresh and sweet on me.

Possibly my favourite (Though they have a few other beauts) Atelier. It's a grey, cool, drizzly Autumn day in the UK, I'm wearing a black shirt, and having applied this scent, I feel like a big, bald, 45 year old brat. Which could mean that I'm some p**** to avoid talking to, but I don't really care, this is a dirty jasmin, and it brings with it a certain attitude that changed mine from slightly tired and ambivalent, to something more playfully arch.

Smoky, spicy and green. If you like your coffee black, your greens bitter, your wine and beer bone dry,and your candy liquorice, you will like this. Sweet tooth and sweet floral lovers stay away. I loved wearing this when I went out this summer dancing. It stayed fresh in the stifling humidity and sweaty, dark clubs and bars. People seemed to like it too. I had a constant crowd around me and people who kept leaning into me for no reason ;)

Amazing jasmine & angelica scent. Sultry, seductive and magical. This is not just a typical jasmine fragrance and I mean that in the BEST way! It's just like walking through a rainforest after it's been pouring rain and camping near fire; green, smoky, woody. Sillage and longevity are beautiful. Remains in a beautiful aura around you and lasts for a reallllly long time. A beautiful masterpiece from Atelier Cologne.

This is the perfect newly washed hair fragrance. I love it. I have had some trouble finding a fresh scent for super warm summer days, they’re usually too sweet or too blah, but Jasmin Angelique is just fresh, green and beautiful. I don’t get the cigarette/smoke at all. On me, it’s a fresh and sparkling and uplifting jasmine. I want to jump in a pool filled with this amazing stuff.

It is a very realistic narcissus! Not a jasmine. I know how the real narcissus flower smells like. My mom use to grow them in a garden. So, if you like that flower, give this perfume a try. The best among Atelier Colognes fragrances. Staying power is low (all AC scents like a water to me). I think people who like original Daisy by Mark Jacobs will like this fragrance.

A dream jasmine scent (for my tastes). The incense/cigarette counterpart to the jasmine IS what makes it so special. Reminds me of a trip to Cinque Terre, with a hotel room perched perilously on a night-blooming jasmine-covered cliff overlooking the village below... I also own Jasmine Smoke by Heretic, and this is superior.

I love this, but like most Ateliers does not last. This is the longest lasting of any I have tried (many). Top is jasmine and citrus then some smoke then it dries down into this dry, dirty, nonsweet jasmine that is so authentic that I was swarmed by yellow jackets when I went to sit on my deck.

Oh, now this is absolutely glorious. Totally unexpected, although not really. The angelica gives it this strange astringency that counters the soft beauty of the jasmine. It creates a soft, but sour indolic effect. I quite enjoy it.

I love this scent; the longevity is great at over 7 hours, and the sillage is impressive. i highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates fresh, high-quality offerings.

I was expecting a cologne-styled fresh jasmine while testing Jasmin Angélique, thus was completely caught off guard when the intense galbanum hit my nose. For the first two hours, Jasmin Angélique is really 'Jasmine Galbanum' on my skin: the presence of galbanum is like a shadow underlying the sweet jasmine, complementing its subtle indolic and smoky aspects as if the pollen is also bottled with the essence of jasmine, while the resinous texture of galbanum providing heft and depth, contrary to the 'weightless, transparent jasmine petals' that I had initially visualized. As the fragrance gradually dries down, the shadow that was galbanum fades into the background, as the luminous, silky jasmine finally shines through, while the herbal nuance of angelica danses around. The overall effect is a gently sweetened green jasmine, fresh and natural, far from being squeaky clean. The sillage is moderate to soft, and the longevity is around 6 hours. Jasmin Angélique does remind me of Maison Martin Margiela Untitled, due to the galbanum playing an important role in both fragrances. However, while compared side by side, I find Jasmin Angélique sweeter and less astringent because of the presence of jasmine. When I think of a jasmine fragrance with depth, I usually think of it pairing with spices and warm resins. Therefore, I was positively surprised by the pairing of jasmine and galbanum in Jasmin Angélique, achieving a similar effect while remaining green. I'd definitely recommend it as an interesting interpretation of jasmine fragrances, but do test before buying if you're aiming at a 'fresh, transparent, cologne-style jasmine'.

green, dry, lemony musky smokey (tobacco) daffodils. i can even smell rose wood or is it mahogany. lovely. not very jasminey. jasmine is sweet, indolic and thick. this is smooth, dry and smokey. perhaps that's why it is angelique, the spiritual incense added, the indoles of poo and bodily things removed. but nevertheless a massive wrist sniffing delight! i love it. lasts 5 hours on me, skin scent after 2 hours. (thank you to the lovely lady on eBay who slipped in the sample of this.) this is what happened: i was opening a creaking wooden door in an shabby country house, to enter a hot dry conservatory, full of wilting plants, the bright garden outside through cobwebbed, dirty windows and down one end a chair behind a desk made from rosewood beside an open window. the desk varnish worn off, a pipe in an ashtray. a curled up yellowing novel. some writing materials. a grubby crystal tumbler. a cup of long forgotten lapsang. this space is almost like a sunny, hot version of the "Growlery" wherein the Father (in the novel i read) used to lock himself to avoid his wife and his little daughters to have his "peace and quiet" to "study". i think he was in there writing letters to his imaginary lady friend and sharing her gold tipped cigarettes, wondering how things could have been. "can you water the plants while you're in there Darling" she shrills - "yes darling" he replies, tipping the ashtray into the wastepaper bin....

Apart from the citrus scents that dominate its output, I think Atelier Cologne is at its best when it makes green scents: they really have the knack of capturing natural, fresh, joyful bursts of green in a fragrance. And despite (the first part of) its name, Jasmin Angélique is definitely a green scent, at least to my nose. In fact any floral aspect it does have is just part of the wider realistically botanical character of the scent; galbanum and angelica get my vote as most dominant notes. Pepper and smoke are very subtly there in the background, adding some depth without intruding on the herbal bouquet too much. It's perfect for this time of year (early spring) as well, and perfectly unisex beside. Also, longevity is great for a cologne. In fact it stays more or less the same on my skin for hours and hours, only fading away gradually; and that lack of development is a positive in this case, since I usually like the opening of Atelier Cologne's offerings a lot more than their signature aromatic, masculine-leaning drydowns. I really like it!

Tart, green, bitter jasmine. I put my decant away after one try. Now I'm going through a citrus, herbal, refreshing phase, and found it in the back of my closet. I don't get any smoke, incense, cigarette, or ashtray. I get cigarette/ashtray from Shalimar in a big way, but here it's just a bracing, bitter galbanum at the beginning that gradually fades to reveal other facets. Primarily a very tart lemon that stays for a long time. And wisps of jasmine. I don't really know what angelica smells like, but it's a note a lot of perfumes I love. I think down at the very, very bottom of this fragrance is a bit of one of the woody-amber aromachemicals. But I only get it if I'm making literal nose contact with my skin or the smelling strip. It's something like iso e super. Whatever it is, it's not detectable in the sillage. The sillage is mainly lemony-tart and refreshingly green.

I have never smelled jasmine all on its own, so I'm not sure how this perfume compares. I love this perfume. It is a very clean, white floral scent. It is not mired down by a sugary sweetness or a heavy woody smell. It just smells like flowers with a touch of greenery. It isn't quiet; people will know you are wearing a perfume, but that being said, the projection is only moderate. The scent does seem to be very linear in that there wasn't much of a progression. It stayed the same the entire time I could smell it. Is it unisex?? Meh..., I wouldn't say it is. When I think unisex, I think of something that isn't any one scent in particular. So something that isn't too flowery or powdery..., usually more citrusy. This perfume isn't any of those. It is a straight up floral perfume. It is a floral perfume that is done well though.

Prickly green florals and ashy smoke... very avant garde approach to a green jasmine perfume. A very kiki perfume. I love how unique and wearable it is. Jasmine Angelique is well blended and it definitely has a lot of actors in the background, but there are three notes that stand out to me in particular. It shifts between light, astringent jasmine, palpably crunchy green galbanum, and thin, silvery, smoke, halfway in between diffused cigarette smoke and incense smoke up close. Jasmin Angelique is really the sort of scent to have to get you nose on; it is completely unique and difficult to wrap you head around initially. It's contemplative, maybe a little aloof, but so beautiful.

An interesting Jasmine like none other - to me Jasmine Angelique is as much Jasmine as it is Galbanum, which is ostere and cold: lovely when I am in the mood for it. There is some sweetness to it but not of the bubblegum, nauseating sort... It's sweetness is persistent but quiet, as it is when when one eats licorice or bites into a clove. Overall longevity and sillage are both great - lasting past 8 hours and pushing out at least an arm's length away. Don't expect this to be well liked by everyone, especially those uninitiated to our world of fragrances - but don't get me wrong, this is wearable and I would say unisex. And definitely niche...

Starts with a blast of delicious juicy citrus followed immediately by a bright fleshy jasmine. I wish it held on to this stunning bright and beautiful fresh interpretation of jasmine but it settled down pretty quickly. It goes through a bit of the Atelier men's cologne phase but that passes quickly to my nose I get the peppery notes but as it dries down I get a very dry incense note with wafts of pencil shavings. Still fresh, a bit sweet - slightly green, dry and a tiny bit floral. I think this will be perfect as a refreshing and dry scented reprieve from the sweltering days of summer.

I adore jasmine, but this veers very manly on me. As in it smells like grass, very dry, very fresh and sharp, but definitely not smokey, or feminine....Again, that's how my body reacts to this fragrance, because in the bottle it smells lovely. So, after months of having it sit there what I did was, mix this bottle with Vanillary (the small spray) from Lush, and now it's a warm and sweet (though not sugary) Jasmine, it kind of keeps its original DNA but it's softer and definitely more feminine :)

This one is the first I went for when I found out Atelier was pulling out of NA. I was gifted a sample and, much to my surprise, I really loved the dry down. It starts green and loam-y but turns very pretty when the angelica and tonka start to come into play. This lasted for ages on me. I understand the comparisons to Jasmin et Cigarette- both are ‘dirty’ jasmins that are NOT ‘ladylike’ but I love them both. Glad I found a large bottle.

I agree wholeheartedly with @ferminadaza’s review, so spot on. Cigarettes, jasmine, and angelica. I have one thing to add, this frag had an inexplicable and very strong shampoo smell on me. It maintains the shampoo tone the entire time it’s on my clothes, and it’s a prominent note on my skin for several hours until it turns into a pretty jasmine. An interesting wear, but definitely not my scene.

I grew up in rural Minnesota, but I've lived in Texas since 1980. The opening of JA reminds me of the smell of autumn in Minnesota. The fields of dried grasses and harvested crops, the smell of someone burning leaves...where did the wonderful scent of Jasmine and white florals come from? It's my fantasy, so I can have tropical flowers in Minnesota if it pleases me, and it does!!!

didn't smell any smokiness at all. when I first tried it on i actually said "ew" out loud but then within a few minutes the Angelica came to the forefront, and a few minutes after that the loveliest jasmine remained with the slightest citrusy hint. Very very lovely once you get past the first few seconds. I'm pleasantly surprised with atelier

I like jasmine, I love angelica, and everyone but me seems to like Jasmin Angelique, but either I’m having an off day or the opening’s just not clicking for me. I recognize one rather abstract, gauzy “jasmine” aromachemical, and another musky, grassy “green” one, and that’s it. I’m not getting the anisic, juicy blue-greenness of real angelica or the indolic swoon of real jasmine. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s wan and dull. Half an hour in, the jasmine does start to open up properly & I get the lovely summertime swoon of a real jasmine vine. Still delicate — this is no A La Nuit — but with a welcome grace and nuance. The odd peppery-green note still doesn’t smell like angelica to me, but it’s an interesting counterpoint to the flowers. At the same time, the incense drops in, as a sort of urban, cigarette-smoke-and-concrete dryness that further cuts the floral softness. I like jasmine by itself enough that I don’t feel the need to muss its hair with smoke, but this combination does make a non-traditional, unsweet, less-high-femme jasmine that’s light enough to wear to work. Two hours in, it’s just an abstract floral-and-smoke veil that gives an impression of “urbane sophistication” without smelling like anything identifiable. It’s an interesting effect; not one I’d have sought out, but pleasant now that I have it. Sort of a pale blush-and-grey aura. Dries down to a sort of smoky-peppery, faintly spicy musk. Nominally unisex, but unmistakably feminine IMO. If you’re a fiend for actual angelica, though, you’re gonna need to spring for Angeliques Sous La Pluie.

this starts with an intensely smoky jasmine. it smells like cigarette ash. shortly thereafter the angelica sweetens things up a bit. i also get a bit of citrus at this point. in a nutshell it's as if you freshly showered, then went outside to stand next to a jasmine bush and smoked a cigarette. shampoo, jasmine and smoke. i like this but it's not a love. interesting though, and i do like the smokiness...but personally my skin seems to amp up the angelica a bit too much.

Not for me, but I think it would be lovely on someone else. It leans masculine to me. I get a clean, peppery, slightly soapy impression from it. The citrus is definitely there but it's not too strong after the opening. Mild enough for everyday, I would wear it when I want to smell clean and not offend anyone with my scent.

Angelica and galbanum bomb dries down into a vanillic base. I get traces of a fruity jasmine but I can't call this a dominant floral perfume.

Nice opening, contrast of soft sweet jasmine and bitter angelica as it develops (which is quickly). Fleeting performance. 2.5/5

Jasmin Angélique is one of Atelier Cologne's attempts at creativity, and as usual, it misses the mark. The notes seem very promising, and I expected to love it. Instead, it is a strange, dissonant scent that I'm not convinced works. Jasmine is in there, but it is not clean or even indolic - just rendered dirty by the smoky, green, ashy cloud. I get no fig - disappointing for this fig lover. It opens with dry, blurry galbanum and herbal angelica, clouded by smoke. It clears a little to reveal the floral jasmine, but the haze remains. It reminds me of a cool girl in the smoking area of a nightclub - chain-smoking and perhaps taking the odd drag from a joint. There is a synthetic, plastic-y note that brings JA to stale-cigarette-smoke-trapped-in-carpet territory, which is unfortunate. It remains like so until it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate, and it is unisex. Like several other "avant-garde" Atelier Cologne scents, this is an unconvincing combination of notes, again favouring experimentation over cohesion. You can't just throw together mismatched notes and call it art. Or maybe you can. 1.5/5.

I’m not trying to offend anyone here because everytime I write an honest review it gets deleted by some overly sensitive person and my opinions are the visuals the scent triggers in my head with that being said I hope everyone understands. I find that the Atelier Cologne line has some very strange and interesting scents and this is one of those scents. When I first smelled this it was horrible this reminded me of an old decrepit motel that reeks of cigarette smell that has been I ingrained into the carpets and walls over the years I can just imagine the yellowing walls and a broken smelly elevator that smells exactly like this where the staff of this motel has tried to cover the smell with some perfumy cleaning agents and thus creating the scent of Atelier Cologne’s “Jasmine Angelique”. This is very unique and I applaud anyone who is bold enough to love and wear this fragrance because to me a fragrance sells out when everyone and their mamas wear it and then i feel like it loses its uniqueness and this fragrance will never be a sell out!

Main Notes: Sweet Amber-tonka, Sweet fruity tone, Short-lived jasmine - NOTE: the following happened in less than 5 minutes, then the scent is too weak to detect. Astringent citrus opening, with very subtle but unmistakable hint of smoke-suede/leather, but it literally disappeared in 1.27 seconds. Then slide in the duo of sweet tea jasmine and an even sweeter soft fruity tone , with a barely noticeable harsh soapy lining. What underneath may be a little bit sour-sweet ume (preserved plum) + rosy fake “Oud” base, which can be found in Golden Leather by the same brand. Unfortunately jasmine didn’t last, this perfume dive into a rather typical synth sweet base (amber?), which also has a somewhat creamy hue (tonka?). Interestingly, a different sweets—— a “rice powder cake” tone also got mixed in from time to time. Maybe, just maybe, a phantom like “gasoline-rubbery” tone of myrrh also haunt my skin, but it’s as faint as the breadth of a ghost.

If one went to a gas station and bought a carton of the cheapest cigarettes, ripped them up and put them in a water bong, this perfume is what the bong water would smell like: damp, cheap, and stale. With a lingering hint of someone's knockoff BWF in the distance. And the acrid sting of all natural spray cleaner failing to get rid of the evidence the next day. I wear and love Jasmin et Cigarette; I adore angelica in almost anything, but this is hideous. It lasts well, and does eventually get to a place where I don't despise it, but after several tries, this is just a miss. If it the better it got were slightly more impressive, I mihgt even treat it like Malle's Fleur de Cassie, and bear with the initial hideousness, but honestly, decent just isn't enough to put up with unbearable.

Update: I have to admit that the cigarette smell ironically burns off after 45 to 60 minutes and you're left with a very pleasant, if potent jasmine odor that lasts fairly long... but man is it a struggle getting there. This smells exactly like my buddy's mom, not her perfume, but her. She smokes at least a pack of cigarettes a day indoors, and uses a heavy floral perfume, and this is exactly how she smells when she leaves the house. I kind of understand the tweaker comment below. I would never want to walk around smelling like I've been hanging out in a room full of cig smoke. DO NOT BLIND BUY!

That smells like cigarettes and tweakers. Yuck!” That summed it up for me, too. No, thanks, Atelier! I washed it off and will not be trying Jasmin Angelique again any time soon. With so many other great scents from this house, there have got to be misses, too. This is a definite miss for me, and I don’t think it’s just a mismatch with body chemistry.

this is really interesting, the ash-tray and jasmine analogy works pretty well to describe the scent. atelier fragrances evolve a lot on my skin, and this goes from a harsh green nondescript white floral opening to a stinky, smokey jasmine to a more mellow jasmine before dying down to a shockingly clean musk. some of the phases were great, some were awful. its definitely a fragrance to try, i've smelt nothing like it; if your body chemistry works with the scent then it'll probably be great. was too love/hate for me to truly enjoy.

A bitter green jasmine. I get the cigarette connotations that others have smelled - for me it's less fresh smoke and more of an ashtray or the smell of smoke on the clothes of someone who lives in a house with a smoker. It's got that harsh edge. I like the idea of this one but as a person who generally doesn't care for jasmine-forward scents, it's not for me. I do think that if I liked jasmine, I would love this, though. I adore the harsh/sharp/green angelica and the smoky edge makes it seem a little badass and devil-may-care.

Because of the nature of this brand, I was expecting a light, airy and refreshing jasmine, but this couldn't be farther from that. Aside from containing angelica, there is nothing angelic about it. This is overly fecal, dirty, dark and bitter. It smells morbid - ashes, brimstone and decaying jasmine. With so many jasmine fragrances out there, I would search elsewhere for a beautiful jasmine. If you're looking for a dark, strange jasmine I would definitely suggest giving this a sniff though, it's certainly interesting.

I love angelica and jasmin, I was initially interested and wanted to test this scent. The first couple of minutes I was thinking, lovely, and in a blink of an eye I started sensing a cigarette smell. Must be the combination of notes with incense. The scent then turned into an overflowing ash tray. It was gone in an hour, and that was the best thing about the scent.
