Rose Anonyme

From time to time decision of buying perfume could be a wrong decision. We are very impressed by the smell in the first minutes and we think we are in love with it. Unfortunately after splaying it all over the body many things are going wrong, the heart of fragrance is not as we were expecting, the base is boring. Than the perfume will spend rest of its life on the cabinet shelf. Rose anonyme was my almost blind buy. Almost because I got the sample and after few minutes I decided, this is the fragrance for my vacation 2012. So I spent money for huge bottle, 200 ml big. Going home I had terrible feeling I did another horrible choice, because rose fragrances are difficult and the only few I know are worth attention. Fortunately I was stupid and really wrong, my decision was one of the best I did during last few years. Rose anonyme is a miracle in the perfumery world where roses an on the stage. Rose with a lot of sweet and very juicy lemon tart. So delicious and pleasant I can't resistant and I'm spending hours smelling myself and my clothes, people around asking constantly what is so beautiful, where it does come from. I don't remember to be more proud wearing other fragrances. The beginning is delicious because of vanilla, the heart because of lemon and oranges and the end is another story, deep mysterious and woody because of touch of oud. Rose is present all the time and its concentration doesn't change too much. In my opinion this is very unique to keep one ingredient so stable while others evolve so much. Another miracle is the lack of musk which i love generally but hate in rose fragrances. In RA the musk doesn't exist and this is so wonderful. There is also something else giving the RA different dimension during development. This is wonderful papyrus. I'm saying wonderful because papyrus is extremely difficult ingredient that can improve quality of perfume, but it can also kill it making completely unwearable. Papyrus in RA is dry and mysterious, not harsh at all. It doesn't have earthy and detritus like smell. Here it is very grassy and oriental in the same time. It gives coumarin like effects - I love it. Rose anonyme is perfect fragrance for any season but more suitable for spring and late summer or fall when days are not too hot helping fragrance to develop slowly. I'm afraid that in hot weather RA will disappear to quickly because it not a silage monster - it is perfect as cologne and it is even stronger and better than many EDT but it is not EDP for sure. So I would recommend to buy regular 200 ml bottle rather than miniature the company offers, 30 ml. RA is truly unisex fragrance it doesn't have sex. It is perfect for anyone who like very good professionally done perfume. I can say it perfect for beginners in the fragrance world and people with fully developed taste. I can imagine Tilda Swinton wearing it as her signature fragrance.

Atelier Rose Anonyme is a lovely rose and papyrus fragrance, with not much of the powerful bitter oud edge to my nose despite the note votes here. The rose is very natural and a bit dusty smelling and the papyrus is, well, like wet paper. The combination is, surprisingly, beautiful. There are some incense/patchouli sorts of notes in the base that complement the rose-papyrus very nicely. A strange and illuminating thing has happened to me with rose. When I first became obsessed by perfumes, I disliked rose, even hated it, especially when it was a dominant note. I am not sure why, but it made me gag a bit, perhaps some childhood association with bad shellfish or overdosed old ladies who had lost their sense of smell. Besides, Real Men don't wear rose because it smells girlie. Still, I knew many people love rose, so I decided to find a rose-dominated scent that I could tolerate - eventually I settled on Yver Rocher Rose Absolue (now discontinued), whose only floral note is rose but with a rich melange of oriental notes to back it up. Since I have always loved rich oriental base notes, they somehow made the rose top and middle accessible to me. At first I kind of liked Rose Absolue (amazing enough given that most rose made me want to throw up), and then I liked it quite a lot, and then I LOVED it. It took many months and wears for this transformation to happen. It was still my only real rose perfume, but I decided to take the plunge and see if I liked others. And I did! My olfactory response to rose has largely reversed. Now I find a rich dusty complexity to a good rose note where before I found cloying old lady. Astonishingly, I even like some rose near soliflores, such as Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose (my favorite because it is dirt cheap and smells divine) and Serge Lutens Sa Majeste La Rose. Knock me over with a feather.

Rose Anonyme. Gorgeous. Ideally I should stop this review right there as that says it all and should be recommendation enough to go get this juice. If you want the standard Rose, Patchouli and oud combo taken to it's brightest, lightest, freshest point, this is it. When someone says Rose, patchouli and oud, the first thing that comes to mind is Black Aoud and countless other middle eastern inspired frags of it's type, all heavy handed crude bully frags that slap you in the face for the most part. Rose Anonyme by contrast is a lover that kisses your cheek and wraps you in a hug all day long. It is the absolute other end of the spectrum you can get with the same notes. It is the addition of the bergamot and papyrus notes that does this and the ginger provides balance. And for being such a lightish, airy frag, this projects and lasts a long time. I put on just 2 sprays to the chest and sat down for breakfast and My Mum said your cologne is very strong which was frankly surprising. But this initial beast mode projection settles down after about an hour. Longevity likewise is excellent, 8 hours plus on me. If you are a rose lover of any kind, get this. If you are somebody who is turned off by heavy rose frags also get this. This is balanced really well and even guys who are normally leery of rose or consider it too feminine can pull this off. The only caveat I would state is that if you are mostly into heavy ouds, then this wont float your boat. For me personally, It's one of the best darn things I have smelled in a long, long time and proves once again that even the most overused banal notes in perfumery can provide magic in the hands of the right perfumer.

"Earthy Rose with a twist!" is how I would describe Rose Anonyme. I received a bottle of this for my birthday in October and have been wearing it this past Winter. At first I was not sure about it but have come to love it. At first spritz it is very woody Oud with a burst of Bergamot. Then the Rose and Ginger come into the mix very quickly. At this point Rose Anonyme has a curious vibration that is serious and playful at the same time. There is a sweetness from the Opoponox that is noticeable but not over the top. Just enough to make it pleasant. The Patchouli is not screaming but present. Then there is the subtle green note of the Papyrus. That is probably what I enjoy the most. This is present all through the dry down with the prominent Rose and very rich but not heavy Oud. I can see how some people may find it a bit hard to handle upon first application but given time to develop on the skin it becomes enticing. It reminds me of walking through an old garden that has become overgrown but is still thriving. Where an old tree has a fallen branch and the roses bushes need pruning but are flowering. There is a ginger plant with some dead shoots with the dried flower crowns causing them to bend releasing the spicy scent. There is an herb garden with patchouli bursting out of its raised bed. Then there is a quaint little pond where the papyrus has taken over with frogs swimming and dragonflies flying above the water. A very curious yet restful place indeed. This is my take on this very unusual fragrance. I find that it has sillage that is moderate and its longevity is about four to five hours on me. I give this a 10/10.

Rose Anonyme was not love at first sight for me. I got it for Christmas and it wasn't what I expected. I was expecting this very vivid rose and it seemed like all I got was incense and papyrus. I wasn't wowed so I put it away and didn't try it again until the end of March. I decided to give it another try and to my surprise...it was love at SECOND sight. How did I miss the beauty in this the first go round? I think sometimes when we expect one thing and get another, it confuses our brain and we aren't able to appreciate it in the same way. Because on the second wearing I wasn't really "expecting" anything and just put it on and headed out without giving it much thought. Then BOOM this fascinating smell hit me about 20 minutes later. Unlike others, I do not get a realistic rose smell...the rose is more like a surreal rose backdrop for an exotic, almost wine-like, lush, magical concoction that is difficult to pinpoint exactly. It is almost like the scent itself remains anonymous. You know all these notes are there but you can't pinpoint them or touch them. It reminds me of those dreams where you are reaching for something and every time you try to grab it, it disappears in your hand. But you can see it and it is so real and vivid but...not attainable. To me, Rose Anonyme is like a muted vision of a much larger scent...like this gigantic vibrant portrait of rose, incense, papyrus, oud, bergamot and patchouli that you are looking at through a cloudy window. It is so beautiful and you desperately want to know more but it is determined to remain partially anonymous. Which makes you want it even more.

I really really really wanted to like this on myself instantly but this scent requires that you wait. I have smelled this on others and it's delicious and beautiful, Forget the rose in the name because that ginger is kind of running the show if you ask me. Now this does really round out after 30 minutes and the ginger starts to smell like it just got out of the shower and is now sitting next to a vase of roses. I am a major Atelier Cologne lover and enjoy that they take risk and go for original as well as mainstream. This scent is complete and very well thought out. If you are a true sophisticate than this scent if for you. Edit: I am wearing this today 1/8/2020 and it is absolutely beautiful!!!! I am in love. I keep getting this scent throughout my day and I am so ashamed I never really appreciated the fullness of this gem. I am not the best at describing scents by notes but today it does remind me of D & G por Femme which is one of my all time favorites and has been discontinued. You cannot judge this scent at first whiff it's just too complex. I recommend testing this on your skin for a full week because it really is gorgeous.

What a classy, beautiful, niche smelling, bitter and perfumey perfume. Herbal, spicy, dark and mysterious. Peppery and medicinal, balsamic with enough thickness for a cologne; an EDC should typically be "thin-textured", thus meshing gracefully with the natural smell of individual's skin, a "my scent but better", but Rose Anonyme acts rather as an EDT. Basically, Rose Anonyme is Pogostemon Cablin essential oil diluted in rubbing alcohol and backed up by opoponax-resins-woods. Rose is a background floral. The voting is misleading... Addictive conconction. Not for everyone's taste. Dry scent with a sensual drydown. Grown up, adult appropriate. Beware though, don't dismiss Rose Anonyme because of the harsh opening. It is truly difficult to the nose and personally it reminded me of cleaning products, chlorine and such, be patient for the bliss of the drydown. Projects really well and kept strong for four hours; afte that it became a skin scent and started fading. Well done, well done. I need to smell more Atelier Colognes

I'm not a big fan of rose-based fragrances, but I really dig this one. The first few moments after application are a bit scary to me - you do get a very bright and pungent rose on the top. But, this settles into its mid- and base-notes quite quickly. What I experienced through the bulk of its development is a well-judged rose note that melts into the benzoin and patchouli in a very thoughtful way. The Oud here is not particularly forceful - but it too plays a supporting role as the initial blast of rose slowly sinks into a quicksand-like combination of alternately smooth and spicy woody notes. At times, the fragrance can seem a tad synthetic and unnatural. However, the combination of notes here creates a particularly compelling illusion. Christianne's review captures this scent beautifully - it becomes increasingly more difficult to discern individual notes as time passes. I couldn't exactly tell you what I smell after a couple hours have passed - but I know it smells great.

My first go around with this fragrance wasn't so pleasant, but something has been drawing me to give this a second try. So despite previous dissatisfaction and a less than positive review below I am now trying this again. In the 3 months since my last test the only differences I can see if my life is my stress level has shot up tremendously as my project due date rapidly approaches. Also, the weather here has become increasingly uncomfortable as the humidity levels rise with the 98 degree mid summer heat. I can't say Rose Anonyme wows me with fireworks, but apparently, as adrenaline and temperatures rise the smell of Rose Anonyme becomes addictingly attractive to me. For some reason it's as if I need to smell this lush rose dripping in myrrh, oud and papyrus. It smells dark, exotic and mystical. It's long lasting and it's heavy, but not cloying. I'm so drawn to this fragrance.

I’m not very good at describing perfumes but since it’s one of my favorite scent i have to say sthg. First of all when i smell it at first it makes think about somebody rich like it just smells money🤑 idk if it’s the fact that i bought directly in New York at the Atelier Cologne store directly that made me feel bougee but it’s definitely a scent for sbdy with sophisticated tastes and i think about a woman who wants to smell different but in a chic way. Secondly, i freaking LOVE this perfume bc it’a so unisex. The woody side mix with rose honor both my feminine and masculine energies. It’s not too feminine so I feel very bold wearing it but it is not too masculine as well so I’m wearing it with confidence. With the right makeup and outfit this perfume will make you feel like you have it all. Sexy, bold, confident and very chic you’ll feel like the perfect woman🤍

YES! I think I have finally found a rose perfume that I love. Nothing I have tried so far has changed my aversion to rose-centric scents until this one. Incredible, and I get nothing I dislike from the notes. It starts with a slight blast of citrus and rose, which quickly settles in rose, oud, and patchouli. The oud is not overpowering but instead enchants the rose, as does the awesome patchouli note.There is a slight spiciness from the ginger and then the benzoin adds that amber warmth that's needed to smooth it out.This is beautiful, gorgeous, spicy rose from start to finish! AND, my husband declared it sexy as hell! I just bought a FB. Oh, my husband had on Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and I could smell the two of them together....will definitely try layering these.

Sweet and clean. Warm and fresh. Feminine and distinguishing. Delicate and powerful. It is 1 degree below the zero and I am not sure that it is the right time to wear this fragrance, but I like it. I would love it if it was snowing, because of the strong contradiction between the warm rose and cold snowflakes, but now it is just dry cold. The oud note is really strong in the beginning, but after an hour the rose is the ruler. It is pure oud/rose combination, which is so pleasant to wear. As a cologne it is not very long-lasting, at least on my skin. Yes, it is similar to JHG Midnight oud, but in Rose Anonyme the rose is more powerful. For those that look for an "old-fashioned" rose+oud combo, this is not the case. This fragrance is unique, it lingers and develops on your skin as time changes. First, when you spray it opens up with a woody/oudy rose aroma then a few hours later oud pops up and 10 hours after I smell clean washed fresh Turkish rose. What a joy!!! This is so interesting and well-balanced fragrance, a truly amazing take on "well known" and boring rose/oud combos. Scent 8.5/10 Longevity 6/10 (My 30 ML bottle from Sephora in 2019 lasted 12 hours easily the new 200 ML bottle not so much). Price 5/10 Blind buy safe 1/10 (Must try before you buy it). P.S. 100% Agree with Bokonon12 - "Forget about a trivial rose-oud-patch combo that makes me rather jaded."

This is the best rose scent I have ever found. I love it because it has such an incredible unique floral appeal, yet it is also deed and kinda dark. A lot of florals 1) don’t last or 2) are simply too wimpy and cute for my liking. This, on the other hand, is powerful. I get compliments on this one all the time and I think the secret ingredient is the ginger. In all of my favorite scents, there has to be a ... flare of freshness - and here it is ginger. It is a great scent for both summer and winter. Unlike other scents, this one really has great longevity... even on clothing. I’m utterly impressed with this scent. I have been wearing it for about a year now.

Such a beautiful rose. In fact, this is perhaps the rose most responsible for making me realize I love rose after all, years ago now. I just stumbled upon my original travel spray I thought was long gone, from around 2015. The oud is gentle rather than screechy, and the ginger makes this particular rose/oud combo something very different than other fragrances with that particular ubiquitous accord. It sparkles, it’s a deep dark green, a bit wet. This is a rose after a much needed rain, petrichor air wafting around her quenched, relieved sighs. Gloriously unisex, and on me lasts hours and hours on my skin despite it being a cologne.

This scent reminds me of a lonely walk in spring in old ruins. Memories from childhood, listening to an old song, some longing. A scent of a grown up and mysterious woman. Gentle but confident. Maybe a dreamer too, or maybe a little sad. I don't find this perfume very strong or long lasting, but maybe that is the point. To leave you with some beautiful nostalgia, not with fulfillment. It's much more subtle than a lot of rose oud fragrances I've tried, and much less overwhelming, and yet still very mysterious and magnetizing. I'm addicted. I think you can wear this all year long, but I'd love to try wearing it especially in spring.

First of, I was not impressed- I love rose, but that thing smelled like I spent a night with some old grumpy smoker of cheap siGarets... Later, when I desided to give it a second chance with a decant I fell from a chair!!! What a change, in me or in weather, or in Cologne!!!! Just great tobacco, oud and mature rose hugs you so tender and cautiously, that it resembles of a feeling of warm blanket in the Sunday morning, when the air in crisp and the mood is lazy... Beautiful job done, one of my fav now :) just another rose to my "want" list for Santa

Rose Anonyme has become one of my favorite rose scents. The resin/oud element is a deep, long-lasting addition to the popular flower. It is definitely unisex, but only for men who are willing to wear rose and women who are willing to wear something not so sweet. I get a decent lasting power out of Rose Anonyme (at least 6 hours), and I find it has strength without packing a massive punch like some florals can. If you like oriental florals, I highly recommend giving this one a shot. Of all the Ateliers, it's one of the absolute best.

كنت قد قرأت عن هذا العطر سابقا.. وقد لفت انتباهي وذلك انني من محبي روز دو ارابيا اليوم تمت تجربة هذا العطر ومن حسن حظي انني قمت بتجربته.. فقد وجدت في هذا العطر ماوجدت في عطر ارماني استوقفتني الخلطه الاحترافيه للعود والورد.. والتي لم تستوقفني في نوار دو نوار ولا اردينت ولا فيلفيت روز أود هذه الخلطه التي افرزت عطر يبدو انه مكرر لكنه متفرد لا يشبه روز دو ارابيا.. بل اعطى مزاج اخر للورد والعود سأقتنيه بحول الله ان سمحت الظروف يصلح لكل المساءات.. وان كنت افضله لمساءات الصيف المعتدله محبي خلطة الورد والعود مدعوين لتجربته فورا 8.5/10

Rose Anonyme is one of the most interesting rose compositions I have ever tried--and I have tried quite a few! It has rose, and it has oud...but it smells nothing like other typical rose-oud combos on the market that are completely overpowered by medicinal oud. The rose does fade pretty quickly from this one, but the drydown leaves you with a spicy, savory aroma that reminds me of an expensive soap moreso than a spice rack. It's sophisticated, unusual, dark, and sexy. I could imagine a man or a woman wearing this.
