Rose Cuirée

Received this as a sample and yes - I know - it’s another Rose and Oud combo. Nothing groundbreaking, but this scent is somehow energising. The rose is in full bloom, covered in morning dew, and ready to take off, but the Oud keeps it grounded - not without supporting it’s energy though. Reminds me of Scherzo by Miller Harris minus the fruitiness. Also, the dry-down is very different.

A woody Rose, addictive and masculine. ❤️ With my eyes closed, I could have sworn it was a Tom Ford. Coupled with Oud, Guaïac and something along the lines of resins such as Opoponax and Benzoin. Barely citrusy at the start. Oddly, after 15 minutes, it turns into the scent of dark and bitter Chocolate. The perfume then becomes very rich, of an absolute delicacy and refinement. A complex fragrance, far from a romantic or soapy rose interpretation, NO, this one is sexy, dimensional and luxurious. A less chypre version of TF "Noir de Noir" less earthy without moss. I find it very different from "Emeraude Agar" which I didn't like. The dry-down is quite ambitious and dark... but remains versatile. I love to wear it, and appreciate it just as much worn by my husband. For Oxford scholars... or the Arabic dynasty. 👍 10/10

A cool, dry, elegant oud scent infused with rose. No stickyness or sweetness. Beautifully clear, bright variation on the good old topic of oud-rose. Of which I've tested lots so just wasn't thrilled at first, also because I lean much more towards rose than oud, plus it was the middle of summer when I got it.. Now I enjoyed it. Not groundbreaking but I certainly found it well done and really liked this certain sheer element of it.

As its name indicates, this perfume has roses and also some leather, although, to my nose, the woods stand out much more in the background. Personally, it doesn't smell like oud at all to me. It resembles other perfumes I've smelled of rose and woods, but it's not the typical rose-oud combo. It has a moderate sillage and lasts for 6-7 hours on my skin. Although I admit that it smells very good, it is a fairly linear perfume and its scent, for whatever reason, becomes somewhat boring for me over the time I wear it. Scent 6/10 Duration 6.5/10 Sillage 7/10 Quality/price 5/10 Versatility 7/10 Packaging 7.5/10 Would I buy again? I did not buy it

This one is Emeraude Agar in the new bottle under the new name. The fragrances remains the same.
