Friend likes it in the role of winter freshie.

On the first spray, the opening is a very light bergamot. It fades quite quickly. Soon after, cinnamon appears. The cinnamon here is mild and not sharp or harsh. Then a rose note develops alongside patchouli. One notable aspect is that the patchouli does not overpower the florals. In the heart the rose remains clearly dominant, and there may even be a faint trace of jasmine. After about two hours, the drydown begins to show a resinous character led by myrrh and labdanum. Vanilla and tonka bean soften the base with a gentle sweetness, balancing the potentially smoky intensity of the resins. When smelled close to the skin, there is also a subtle hint of musk. Projection is moderate. Longevity varies with the season; in colder weather it seems to last a bit longer.

Received my bottle today. First of all...great packaging and stunning bottle. The cap weighs 1/4 a pound...lol. The bottle is high quality . And the scent...???....I love it!! Hard to describe,actually. The opening is bergamot/rose tonka combo...but IMO the rose is not a major note here. Next come the musky/floral notes...musk,freesia and jasmine. I normally do not care for freesia..but here it works. These notes are all "balanced" by labdanum/patchouli/vanilla w/cinnamon. The dry down has a tad of balsamic/smokiness..but..the florals prevent it from being too incensey. IMO..this is a "borderline" chypre scent....just not quite. This is very well blended and the quality is there for sure. Projection and sillage is moderate. Unique...great scent. I will be looking to but a couple other scents from this Alexandre J Artistes line!!!
