Choeur Des Anges

I love this - I really was not expecting much from this fragrance, since the reviews depict a unappealing or simply forgettable fragrance. I also generally dislike fruity fragrances, as I prefer molecular fragrances in the heat and spice in the cool weather. This caught me completely off guard but is intoxicating on my skin. It is a little bit of a chameleon, bringing to mind a refreshing lemon green tea, and the classic 90's powdered lemonade drinks. It also has a bit of a vintage feel, and is reminiscent of Chanel No. 5 L'eau while being a touch more fruity and playful. I think it manages to balance sophistication and whimsy well, being lovely and delicate while bringing you back to drinking cold Sunny D on hot days. User wordwithchester noted that it really shines during warm weather - I first sampled this during a ridiculously hot, humid day and was absolutely delighted with it. It's so ethereal, the citrus is zingy and juicy, and the powdery accord makes it more grown up. On my skin, the honey stays perfectly gourmand, and definitely stays far away from smelling like pee. It's sweet, but not too heavy to wear when it's hot. I believe it strikes the perfect balance and might be next on my summer wishlist. I will continue to test this during cooler weather (no use having a fragrance that only works during the hottest week of the year), but it is absolutely gorgeous and very much worth sampling.

This was a love at first sniff for me! I can clearly smell the blood orange, carrot seed, and honey. This honestly smells like an orange and carrot gummy bear to my nose. This used to be my signature scent when I worked as a summer camp teacher and I got compliments on it (from children and adults). The scent makes me happy and I feel like I smell "different" when I wear this. I recall sitting on the ground at a large park full of people. There was a gust of wind and my husband said "OMG! Something smells really nice." I had him sniff my inner elbow and he confirmed that's what he smelled. So, I would say that this radiates within arm length (confirmed by working in close proximity with others) and it last about 8-10 hours. Mind you, I'm on my 2nd bottle of this. The bottle is pretty but I don't care for the flecks of gold as I can't spray it on my clothes lol. All in all, this will be a repeat purchase for me as I now have scent memories attached to it.

Blood orange is dominating this scent, and then it is tamed by pear and honey, giving it a new facet, that is the sweet one on the way to the dry down. I really love the juice, though it's not necessary, the gold flake within the juice really is eye catching, and giving it a sense of wealth and expensiveness. The longevity and the silage is good, it lasts long, the scent bubble is on the arms length. All in all, this yellow, sour and sweet concoction is making me happy.

Im not a big fan of freshie type scents - but this is a twisted delight with effervescent feelzzzz. Blood orange is the dominant note for me - some light honey amber sweetness, osmanthus to make it creamy, carrot seeds to make it earthy - o, this is good. This is a daytime pool party - visor, bathing suit with sarong wrap - looking cute but not trying to get wet scent! Love Love

Wonderful scent 😍 It's been a long time since anything has made me so happy when it comes to scents. Joyful, juicy. I think it will work all year round because it's not obvious and each season will give it a slightly different character. I'm very glad I got to know it. I definitely want a bottle.

This is delicious. Freshly squeezed juice and honey and that hint of something I don't recognize that must be the carrot seed. That little carrot seed kick elevates this somehow. I agree with those reviews below, this is a very happy, cheerful scent. Gorgeous.

Sweet grapefruit and honeyed pear sprinkled with ambrette. Crazy staying power and projection for such fizzy happy fragrance. Best release out of three with white caps. Funny thing, it reminds me of original formulation Max Mara by Max Mara.

It is the carrot note that sets this fragrance apart. Orange softened and sweetened with honey, with the tiniest bit of that vegetal edge. Wonderful. This house can do no wrong. Their new Riviera line is fantastic, too.

Such an amazing fragrance. The scent brings me back to my childhood. It smells just like my favorite multivitamins that came in a tube paste. It is a very joyful fragrance.

I love this. This smells like what I imagined Blue Madeleine would smell like- like sipping tea and nibbling on an orange-scented madeleine. Sweet, light and beautiful.

Smells so so much better on the skin than it does trying to sniff it before spraying. I like this one very much. It is very complex.

Choeur Des Anges is a bizarre perfume. The opening is a cross between Tang—the 1970s powdered orange drink that supposedly the astronauts drank—coupled with children’s orange flavored aspirin mixed with the scent of fresh bread baking in the oven. It’s clearly one of the oddest gourmand scents I’ve ever sprayed; a big citrus weirdo. And I like it. Minus the ridiculous, brand signature gold flakes (but that’s about presentation, this review is about the scent). And I’m reminded of another polarizing citrus perfume: Oyedo by Diptyque. They are different, but Oyedo is fizzy and medicinal like Choeur Des Anges. And they both perform well for citrus dominant scents. As Choeur Des Anges dries down, I like it a little less. It’s still dry and powdery but it’s less sweet. I’m reminded of candied orange peel; sticky, food-like goo and a tad sour. I gotta give the hat tip though. Kudos to this Atelier Des Ors for creating a perfume that is the definition of niche.

A simplified review here as I wrote some quite detailed notes on this but, having worn it a couple of times, it doesn't warrant a great deal of discussion. The top notes, the fruity accord whatever you want to call it, is unique (certainly to my nose) and while I could parrot the notes from here, I'd just say it smells like some sort of 'fruity amalgam'. The fact blood orange is mentioned is interesting and somewhat perceivable, as different to other broadly 'Orange' materials like orange oil, tangerine, mandarin, etc.... all of which are different but blood orange is really different. Then pear & blackcurrant? Sure. Why not? This accord is present throughout, a very long lasting fruity freshness, the glaze atop what is a mildly honied and caramelised amber accord, with what I'd say is a slightly femme lean. I think it's good, I like it. I don't love it though.

Citrus with a dusty tang, possibly from the combination of osmanthus and carrot seed. I find it extremely similar to a few Atelier Cologne offerings, particularly Pomelo Paradis, except it has a gently honeyed base that distinguishes it from most sweet citruses. Soft and silky honeyed oranges on the skin, I can easily smell why the Atelier des Ors might feel justified in charging their ridiculously steep price for this fragrance. The honey in the base is delicious but not cloying. Still, anyone who would rather save themselves some money might want to sample Atelier Cologne Pomelo Paradis or Floral Street Sunflower Pop. If you've got money to burn, then this one does win with a slightly higher score. Up to you if it's worth it.

Bought it as a gift for my mum & I'd say it was a risky buy with a good outcome. I bought it as a blind buy, particularly because the honey & blood orange notes caught my attention, however, when I first smelled it off the bottle I immediately grew scared since the citrus smell greatly overpowered all the other smells. However, once I put it on my skin the honey note left a sweet smell behind that I adored. Lucky for me, it left the same sweet smell on my mum as well. However, I do understand other reviews that did not take a liking into this perfume because when my cousin tried it on it negatively reacted against her skin & left behind a nauseating smell. Not something I would blind buy. I do love this perfume though.

I finally gave in and ordered a full bottle of this. I kept telling myself that it wasn't sophisticated enough or unusual enough to warrant the price, but the plain truth is that this fragrance just makes me happy. It lifts my spirits. Sure, it's so fruity and cheerful that it feels too young for middle-aged me, but again--happy! Maybe some more facets of the fragrance will reveal themselves when I'm able to wear this sprayed on instead of dabbed, but even if they don't, I can see myself wearing Choeur des Anges whenever I need a burst of juicy blood orange and honey to boost my spirits or just celebrate being happy. This is like wearing sunshine.

So, yes, this can smell like Emergen-C or Flintstone vitamins. The first time I tried my sample I thought it was a boring hard pass. BUT, when I wore it during a hot and stuffy car ride, it became something transcendent and transformative. The angelic choir started kicking in and in a moment of madness led me to buy the full bottle when I got home. It really only coalesces in the heat and falls flat otherwise, so it'll take me quite awhile to get through it. Pretty good longevity if sprayed inside elbows, on abdomen, etc. Definitely try under different conditions if you're on the fence.

First minute - a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice with a sprinkling of Tang and half teaspoon or honey. Good lord if it keeps smelling like this people may think I fell into a vat of Fun Dip. Thirty minutes later - more balanced blood orange, pear, osmanthus, something I can’t put my finger on so must be the carrot seeds, honey and amber. No cedar and just a hint of Tang. This is getting nicer. Hour+ later - much more sophisticated. True orange notes & a fine perfume, but am not sure it is something I want to smell like on a daily basis. Will keep testing.

Very pleased with this one, it is quite good. The longevity and silage aren't there for me, but I have a decant and it's still moderate. This scent impresses me as one of those fragrances where all of the notes are discernable but still harmonious. It also seems very flexible. I think the dark sweetness of it will sit on my skin nicely, even on a winter night, and the sweet-juicy balances it out and it hasn't been overwhelming on warm days. I don't know that I'll be entering the rotation permanently, but I do like it.

Strong. To me it smells yellow/orange gummy bears. Syrupy sweet citruses on warn and rich base of honey and amber. After a while it settles into more powdery scent, like powdered oranges with honey. Very original and complex scent, I just wish I got more floral freshness, which would make it more wearable to me. Gorgeous packaging, the bottle is a pleasure to look at. I love that the gold flakes actually come out on your skin.

I agree with most reviews below especially the one that says it smells like "orange vitamins for kids"/"orange soda left in the sun" type of scent. That is true in the beginning but when it dries down it becomes like a soapy orangey showergel type of a scent. I expected better type of a citrus fragrance and with a name like that. It performs very good but I am happy to sample it but will not get a full bottle. Nope thanks.

Sweet tart citrus like Sunny Delight mixed with pixie sticks balanced with carrot seed and honey. Invigorating without being obnoxious or loud. Someone mentioned Flintstone vitamins and I can see that. More specifically, chewable vitamin C tablets. Unique citrus frag that's enjoyable in and won't offend anyone. Scent 7/10 Performance 6.5/10

Nice. Smells like one of ur kids touched u with their orange sticky-hard-candy-fingers, minus the dirty smell. 😄 And I mean this in the best possible way! Longevity is poor. I LOVE that this line has gold flecks in the juice! 😍 Not sure about drydown just yet.

This is a grown-up’s Froot Loops scent. Citrus and vanilla done nicely, but not too sweet. It’s a guilty pleasure buy that I may have to make.

The sweetness is very strong, it's very long lasting so 2-3 sprays are enough. Overall it smells like honey.

Choeur Des Anges Is a strange bird. The first image that came to mind when I sprayed it was an orange popsicle, from the icy treat right down to the stick. Add to that popsicle a slightly medicinal cough syrup and you have Choeur Des Anges. With a description like that you’d think I hate this perfume. Not true! I appreciate the artistry and enjoy the unique perspective Choeur Des Anges has to offer. It’s a joyful, almost humorous fragrance. BUT, there are only a few places I would feel comfortable wearing it - maybe an ice cream shop, perhaps a county fair, possibly an Orange Julius. Given the limited options I think I’ll finish the sample and move on.

My quest to find an Atelier des Ors that works for me led me here. At this point, I think I just need to give up. I read the reviews, but somehow still thought it would be ok because I tend to really like orange dominant scents. But in retrospect, I like orange-dominant scents when they are balanced with amber or honey. Just orange didn’t really work. After about an hour, I felt like one of those car freshener trees one sees hanging on rear-view mirrors; sun-faded yet still somehow incredibly pungent. So why am I ranking this ok? The bottle is lovely and if one wants to smell like orange drink powder all day, this is it!

I wish this was more balanced in terms of notes. While this is insanely citrusy and fizzy, there is no sweetness of any kind to balance it out. I do not detect the honey or ambery notes, which is sad. The orange/osmanthus combo is far too strong and overpowers the other notes. Yes, this is unique as far as scent but it’s not sweeping me off my feet...

Wearing my sample of this today, and there are aspects of this fragrance I do like. Nice juicy Blood Orange and Black Currant with sweet Honeyed Florals, but the Carrot Seed throws it off for me. Not a fan of the Carrot Seed note. It's not that prominent, but noticeable so this is a "meh" fragrance for me because of that.

Starts rather divine, as the name would suggest, but halv an hour later the cats arrive. I am glad I had the opprtunity to test and did not buy the bottle. Would not reccomend to blind buy this one, there is a chance that it will not open the right way. I ended up with Blue Lazuli for the summer, it is ideal.

On paper this is a beautiful honeyed orange. But on my skin, it smells like warm oranges. It smells like simmering oranges on the stove to candy them, but it also smells like oranges rotting in the compost pile 😬 I don’t know how to feel about it

Is there anything Atelier des Ors have that lasts more than 2 hours, or the entire brand is some sort of social experiment?

I just got this perfume and im quite disappointed. The first spray is full of a very strong bloody orange that gone bad kind of smell. The same smell is in lalique's perfume soleil that hurts my stomach every time i wear it, fortunately it doesnt last long. The perfume is warm citrusy and honestly idk if it is the heat at the moment but i dont smell any osmanthus, nor amber, nor honey. I only smell bloody orange (that has gone bad) and at the same time orange blossom which gives an instant clean sniff but then is eliminated by the other note. I love black currant and my skin chemistry works really well with this note but this perfume doesnt have any it. I expected it more clean or more white floral , it was a blind buy and my 1st from this brand ...

To me this fragrance smells like sweet oranges and leather. The kind of leather in a tannery or as you cure a hide. It's the carrot seed. This has a spicy quality to it that might make a great holiday scent. I see this working more in winter than as a typical summer citrus because it has a darkness to it.The final drydown in the base is lovely with some amber richness and florals composed of osmanthus and neroli. It has a musky quality. The carrot and orange are still there in the background. This reminds me of how a blood orange body butter dries down on the skin.The final base is an intriguing amber with an orange quality that is rich and creamy but also with a little bit of a plastic note to it. I don't think that carrot seed wants to let go.

I like citrus fragrances and the ones in my collection are generally built around notes from lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, yuzu etc. Based on a positive review on Youtube, I ordered a decant of this orange dominated fragrance to give it a try. I would describe this as a powdery orange fragrance with both floral and a green note in there somewhere - probably from the carrot seed. Longevity is good, but sillage is modest. You will notice this fragrance when you're in the sun. My initial thoughts when smelling this were - Saint Joseph's children's aspirin followed by orange creamsicle. While I do appreciate that this is a nicely balanced and unusual summer fragrance, I just can't get past the aforementioned associations. It's not for me.

Huh! On first spray, it reminds me of those chalky multivitamins you would take as a kid, or sweet tart candies. Then, it’s a blast of carrot seed. Odd, fruity, and musky. I don’t even know what to make of this fragrance, it’s just interesting! It’s bright and belongs in a garden. As it develops, the orange note sticks out - sickly sweet and almost synthetic. It becomes offbrand orange fizzy candy. It then turns into a sweet honey floral with a smattering of the previous notes on top.However, there is something intriguing in here that I have simply never smelled before. I really do not know what to make of this, but I don’t think I like it for me personally.

I sampled this perfume in New Orleans. It was super hot and humid. I thought I loved it. It was citrusy and sweet. So.. during the Joma Shop summer sale I purchased a full bottle. I just got it today (8/10/23). I was so excited. The unboxing of the packaging was luxurious... the bottle is beautiful. I sprayed it in the air and I was like wtf this is not what I remembered... then I tried it on my skin... and it was a huge no! It smells like orange soda and bug repellent I am returning it asap

This is very very strong and has a sickeningly sweet smell to it. It reminds me a lot of a very sweet fruity energy drink! I definitely don't want to smell like this! It's way too much for me! It's still kind of beautiful. very very different from everything else I've tried, and smells pretty natural, without that perfume-y smell to it, but it has way too much of that artificial sweetness to it that is used in energy drinks or low alcohol drinks...

Oh boy I should have known better with the honey note, which often turns into pee like smell on my skin, no exception here. The scent itself is a nice deep orange-y scent, with some bitter notes most likely from the carrot seeds. The carrot seed note did not give me any trouble, in fact I actually like it here, it is the honey note that ruins this and made it very off-putting in the dry down for me.

Very sickly wilted gross celery. It ruins some of the other more enchanting notes. I'm guessing it's the carrot seeds, unsure, but it's quite sad, because behind the celery, there is a very sweet, urinal-like honeycake perfume which could have been delicious

Strepsils orange and honey throat soothing lozenges! Suddenly, memories of my pharyngitis came back to me. It's as if all the notes I don't like have come together! Pear and osmanthus :( Its harshness wasn't enough, there's even cedarwood!

Love the honey florals, but on my skin the carrot seed comes off as a sweet chive scent. I would love it without the carrot seed note. Unfortunately a pass.

I don’t know what is it with this perfume. I’ve read several comments saying that the honey note can turn horribly for some skins. I think this is my case. I rarely have a heavy reaction to perfumes, in this case this is the worst I’ve ever had. I sprayed it and I actually gagged, it was absolutely disgusting. I’m not saying it’s a bad perfume, but definitely sample it first.

Something in there smell terribly bad to me. I suspect the carrot seeds or the combination with the honey. It’s the first time a fragrance makes me gag.

Imagine the moment when you first open a can of orange soda. Except the can is 3 years past expiry and smells like rotten oranges. Voila

This smells like jaffas to me, you know the orange flavour chocolate? It’s delicious and like nothing else in my collection. However I’m still testing to decide if the dry down just makes me smell a little like a wet dog. I can’t put my finger on it but I’m unsure if I would like smelling this on another person, hence im unsure whether I want to be walking around smelling like this. I’m going to try pairing it with Le gourmand or chocolate greedy to really give that orange chocolate note! So far I have combined it with Cassili PDM and love the floral notes combine with the orange and honey. It’s definitely a unique and interesting scent that I’ll probably never find it any other fragrance, so if you’re looking for something to stand out in your collection, this would be the one.

This is quite an underrated gem. There are only a few fruity fragrances that I have really managed to like for their quality/composition, this one certainly takes a good place in my heart. At the first moment of smelling it, I felt that I fell in love. The honey mixes so well with the pear and the blood orange note that it is not cloying at all, you enjoy that balanced sweetness and the sophistication of amber at its exit. As the night wore on, I felt myself becoming more intoxicated by how uniquely she was. It's like receiving a fresh, icy breeze that gradually seduces you. I will definitely buy the bottle soon. I invite everyone to give this beauty a chance, if you get the chance please give it a try.
