Lune Feline Extrait

I love this. It’s so strange and unique. I actually don’t feel like it’s hugely vanilla forward, and it’s definitely not sweet. The “negative” comments I’ve seen in reviews, such as it’s medicinal, with a bizarre, smoky opening, are true in my opinion, but that’s what I like about it. I’ve never smelled anything quite like it to compare it to. The closest thing I can think of would be Le Labo Patchouli 24- the opening of which smells like a campfire and even has a little hint of barbecued meat before it settles down to a smoky vanilla base. Lune Feline has something like that- it doesn’t smell like Patchouli 24, but the sensory effect is similar, if that makes sense. But where P24 is barbecue-y, this is more animalic, but not in a musky, civety/castorteum way. My mind isn’t normally overly influenced by marketing, but this really does have something oddly feline about it. I live in the middle of nowhere in a wooded area and have an indoor/outdoor cat, who loves to accompany me when I walk my dog. The cat goes off adventuring in the neighborhood but often comes out of the woods to join us when he sees the dog, and he loves to be held, so often I’ll pick him up and carry the cat as we walk along. In the fall it’s my favorite thing, because he smells so cute when he comes out of the woods! His fur gets a very light, sweet scent, like dry leaves, cool air, and his warm little cat body, and he’s so cuddly I love to bury my face in his fur. The “animalic” aspect of Lune Feline reminds me of that scent, (maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but) it’s wonderful and I don’t know how they managed to bottle it! In short, it’s the weirdest perfume I’ve ever smelled in my life, and one of my very favorites. When I found out they made extrait, I bought a bottle immediately. I love the EDP too, and the difference is negligible enough that unless you’re really into the scent, owning both is probably redundant. The main difference I notice is that I can smell the extrait on myself for much longer than the EDP. Which is not to say the EDP doesn’t perform as well- (they are both STELLAR in terms of sillage projection and longevity) but I get noseblind to the EDP after a few hours, while others can still notice it strongly. With the extrait I’m able to detect the fragrance all day, wafting around when I move. I would suggest spraying with a very light hand, one spray down my shirt and one on each wrist is more than plenty. Both versions have something a little bit scratchy (presumably ambrox) in the base, and some people may find this smell a little too chemical. I notice less of that with the extrait, but otherwise it’s basically the same. I’m not really into anything else offered by this house, but Lune Feline really special. It’s extraordinarily beautiful and unique in either concentration, so I’m happy to have both.

I got this on a whim because I love the OG Lune Feline so much. Smelling it from the bottle, there really isn't much difference between the two so I wouldn't buy it if you already have Lune Feline, unless you want a backup. That said, the extrait version is supposedly at 30% concentration. It is richer and stronger, although the juice is lighter compared to my bottle... maybe it's because I've had that one for a year already. Anyway, I can't tell if it lasts longer than the OG. I spritzed both on my wrists and asked my nine year old nephew which one he prefers and he liked the OG better as it has a fruitier opening which is probably the pink pepper? That's nicer in my opinion as well, compared to the LFE which smells of vanilla cake right away and stays that way for a while. It's summer where I am now and I don't think I can wear this well in the heat, but the OG is more wearable in summer I think, and if you're going to be in an airconditioned office all day. In any case, I don't regret buying this at all. The OG and the Extrait are interchangeable to my nose except for a few differences. I can see that Lune Feline can be a part of my collection forever--I love it this much. But I'll probably just repurchase the OG.

It does smell like Babycat 🤷♀️ lol. Anyways...this definitely does have a strong medicinal opening. If you just ...wait ...a little bit...it smooths out. Having never smelled the EDP I pulled the trigger and bought a sample of the Extrait as the differences were not enough to sway me one way or the other. If you like a thick, spicy warm powerhouse of a perfume this fits the bill. It’s not for the faint of heart. It definitely reads a bit leathery and a tad sweet but just enough to balance out the spice. I am not a huge fan of cardamom..thankfully it’s not bitter and dark here. It’s blended with the other spice notes to where none hit you in the face ...but occasionally take the star role. This perfume definitely envelopes you in a scent bubble. The sniff your wrist version of this perfume is not where it’s at...it’s that gorgeous cloud around you. The bottles are stunning and I would be happy to own this. For use in cold weather only. Spicy woody vanilla with a balsamic twist done well.(PS It’s addictive!)

Lune Féline Extrait is a very luxurious and sensual vanilla fragrance. This was a love at first sniff for me. This scent is dark and mysterious. It is a gourmant with an animalic, sweet vanilla but it is warmed with the balsamic notes and musky accords. It leaves a rich scent trail. I have a decant which I use very sparingly because I love it so much. A little goes a long way luckily. The longevity is insane and lasts forever on clothes. I would suggest this is best suited to cold weather and date nights. If you enjoy scents like Babycat, Vanagloria, Eau de Audacity, Eau Duelle and Silky Woods you will most probably enjoy this scent too. They are not identical, but I would suggest that they are in the same family. I would love to own a full bottle. I think the beautiful bottle and gold flecks will enhance the experience even more. UPDATE: After three samples and years of dreaming of owning a full bottle I was finally able to add it to my collection. So happy.

Lune Féline Extrait is the epitome of a great vanilla fragrance - it’s intensely sweet and opulent, fantastically building on the original. Initially it opens very warm and spicy with cinnamon, cardamom and pink pepper. A hint of woody, salty freshness then lingers in the background from cedar and ambergris. From here the vanilla shines through, which is the star of the show. It’s soft, sweet and delicate, and yet somehow also dark, rugged and slightly earthy. This is likely from the styrax and Peru Balsam which gives the scent its addictive animalic qualities. This fragrance smells very much like an amber however lacks the required notes to be considered one. Nevertheless this is a fantastic vanilla and really demonstrates the creatively complex side to vanilla-centric perfumery. An absolute pleasure to experience.

Although I really enjoy this fragrance, I am confused by its brief. It says it was inspired by the moon, but how so? It goes into no further detail. Simply that the inspiration came from the moon. Normally inspiration like that would create some type of astral, Cold powdery concoction. What comes to my mind is lunar dust that was recently released. And my I say is excellent. Lune Feline Extract is on the complete opposite side of the olfactory spectrum. It is deep and warm instead of superficial and cool. It is not lost on me how the aspect of the moon and the nocturnal feline and her sexy nighttimings go hand in hand together, and that is most likely the real inspiration behind the title of this deep yet titillating piece of art.

I rarely ever write reviews, but Lune Feline Extrait absolutely deserves one. When I first tried a sample in late 2024, I sprayed it and immediately thought, nope, the cardamom was too strong and too spicy. I went to bed... and woke up wondering, what is that intoxicating vanilla scent? I was hooked and bought a full bottle the very next day. Since then, it has matured beautifully. I wore it again today and it is even more stunning....warm, decadent, and addictive. My daughter told me I smelled like “the best vanilla cookie,” and honestly, that’s the perfect description. 😄

I ordered samples of the original and the Extrait version, and frankly, I can't tell the difference between the original and the Extrait version in the drydown. Both are great. Extrait's opening is a bit more odd and animalic than the original. Overall, Extrait seems to be slightly more dense, smoky and warmer, while the original is just a tad more woody and lighter. Extrait reminds me of being by a campfire or a fireplace. Unisex. If I were gifted one or the other scent, I would probably enjoy them equally.

Ooo, a wonderful scent! In the same genre/scent profile as babycat and much smoother but I wouldn’t call them similar by any means. The cardamom is super realistic in this, less spicy and sweeter. Almost reminds me of a decadent cream dessert with a ton of freshly ground sweet cardamom. It’s almost mouth-watering. I expected it to be much spicier but all I get is a smoky, velvety cardamom dessert. I already know that this is gonna pair beautifully with Magenta Tanzanite for that extra kick of spice!

#856 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. This is my second experience with Atelier des Ors. I gave a female friend a bottle of "Larmes du Desert" that was a big hit and a scent I'd wear myself though I haven't picked up another bottle yet. This was also on my wanted list, but now it's not. This is so reminiscent of YSL "Babycat", and Oakcha has produced a Babycat clone called "Street Art" that goes for $35, so I wouldn't pay $200-235 for this or Babycat.

If you're a swede and likes to eat cardamom buns, this is just like how it smells when you eat freshly baked ones. It's such a realistic crushed cardamom scent with sweet and smoky vanilla, and balsamic and spicy touch in the base. Currently one of my absolute favourite vanilla fragrance so far and i'm usually not a vanilla fan as i find them cloying and sickeningly sweet. I've tried the EDP, but the extrait is so much smoother and sweeter in my opinion.

Love Lune Feline, and love this a little more. I am partially anosmic to LF. The whiff I get I adore, but much of the time I can only smell a 'sterilized cotton bandage' smell. LFE has a trace of that, but I can actually smell it. Slightly softer/sweeter, just different enough that I don't regret having both. I didn't expect to enjoy either LF or LFE in the summer, but they hold up really well. I get a lot of compliments.

Lune Feline’s thicker, smokier twin sister. Resinous and intense, there is a hint of medicine in the opening, but quickly goes away. Once dried down, it feel stronger to me, also more vanilla, focused, and sweet. It is not as spicy as its predecessor, but the cardamom develops overtime. I love the lasting power on this one, and there’s something addictive about the scent. I just cannot decide between the two...

Spiced resinous vanilla that feels less sweet than the EDP. It's very nice, it feels like if you took Rosendo Mateu No.5 and got it washed and sanitized from all the rubber and asphalt like notes, now you have the base, the smooth old/aged vanilla beans with some woody and spicy notes, surrounded by a very gentle musk. I like this a lot. Full bottle worthy.

This to me is a near dupe of Ciel de GUM by MFK (rip), minus the rose note and without the delicious chemical rubber opening that GUM has. The vanilla is also more pronounced so while GUM was a colder scent, this is pretty warm. Nice and spicy with that cinnamon/cardamom combo and the projection is great. A great spiced gourmand that lasts all day.

What can I say! Immediately fell in love with this addictive vanilla. The Peru balsam and styrax add a so lovely warmth to it. Honestly my all time favourite vanilla. I got the extrait de parfum talking about the performance it’s very long lasting with soft to moderate projection but it leaves a very nice scent trail. Highly recommend. 10/10 👌

For long time , I was hesitated to buy it , as I afraid to be a smoky vanilla , but I asked people they informed that, it is spicy vanilla, I bought it from the original boutique , I loved it so much , It is unique and strong , long lasting , the cardamom very apparent , and the dry down of the scent is amazing , recommended for sure.

Hello sexy, I know that perfume doesn't have a gender, however... this baby right here is a sophisticated masculine woody vanilla, imagine a David Gandy or Idris Elba in a tuxedo. This is Lune Feline Extrait. (Basically a more masculine, woodier version of Lune Feline)

Presentation is beautiful, liquid is gorgeous but even more importantly...the SMELL. Smoky, resinous, incensy vanilla but never cloying and not too heavy or waxy. I MUST HAVE THIS.

I find the extrait a touch more vanillic in nature, as well as darker and more resinous. It's very similar to the EDP, but I got an amazing deal on the extrait so purchased that.

I love this, it’s a beautiful vanilla fragrance. I know this sounds weird, but in the beginning it smells like a freshly opened bandaid and I mean that in a good way 😆

I get a lot of spicy cardamom and cinnamon on a perfect creamy vanilla base. This is more of a warm cozy, spicy vanilla rather than a sweet gourmand. It’s beautiful!!!

Ushering in the yuletide and it is GAY!!! Wherever I spray Lune Feline Extrait I just gleam with joy, even whilst I admire my bottle I can feel joyous golden beams!

Can anyone answer this, if you have lune feline, do you need this one? Is it different enough to justify it or do they smell the same??

I ordered this and a few other samples and tried each of them on paper first and went around blind smelling them and when I got to this one I thought it kind of smelled like my cat in a very warm and cozy way. I realized it was this and thought of course...that’s why it’s called Lune Feline. I’m not sure how they harnessed the smell of a cozy kitty but it’s cool. I’m female but I normally tend to like more unisex fragrances and while I thought I’d give this one a try, I’m not sure how often I’d wear it. It’s very feminine. It’s a soft, cozy kitten of a vanilla. I like it and I enjoyed sampling it. Edit: It’s summer now and I’ve been wearing this almost every night. I love how much more the woodiness comes out in the warmth. It’s much more complex than I thought before. I might even want to buy a bottle.

I've been waiting for the Extrait to pop up on Fragrantica so that I could leave my review. I am such a huge fan of the original Lune Feline that I just had to try this one as well. The Extrait brings the vanilla to the forefront, and seems to be sweeter and less smoky than the OG. Almost too sweet. The OG seemed to be more nuanced and I could smell the other notes as the fragrance wore throughout the day, but the Extrait remains very intensely focused on the Tahitian Vanilla note in there. I suppose that's what it's supposed to do, but I would rather smell the woody notes, cinnamon, and musk that come through much better in the OG. I won't be dropping the cash on this one - I think the OG is just fine as it is. 7.5/10

There are some good reviews of the scent profile of Lune Feline Extrait and I tend to agree with the positive ones. It is a bit medicinal and animalic and balsamic but I love those qualities. It's a great fall/winter fragrance. Leans a little feminine but I'd still happily wear it. The problem, and for me it's insurmountable is the gold. It should be at the top of every review. This will blast gold flecks all over everything you wear. For me that makes it unwearable and that's a tragedy because I really quite love it.

This is much more refined than the original. The notes are better pronounced. You can pick more of them out individually, but overall it combines perfectly. It still has the same scent profile as the original, but the medicinal bandaid smell is absent. No waiting for the dry down so it smells better. This is good from the first spray. It’s the sophisticated adult version.

Almost an exact match to Mancera Black vanilla. Delicious vanilla, sweeter than Mancera, resinous, spicy cedar wood. I can’t compare to the original, but this one is great. Would recommend to someone who loves woody vanilla fragrances. If you have Black Vanilla - it’s not worth to buy full bottle of this imo. Definitely cold weather perfume.

The extrait kicks off with a touch of citrus and the pink pepper is muted compared to the EDP version. Smoother opening hence less projection. Overall less smokier iteration of the EDP. Unlike some other 'Extrait' releases from niche houses that tend to shake the boat with different notes, this one stays faithful to the OG.

A resinous vanilla backed with seductive piney smoke, turns more medicinal and cardamon forward as it dries down. Smells like a velvet dress you take out once a year for a good holiday party then never wash.

my opinion changed over time. its very tough to wear this one as I blind bought a bottle. top notes: blistex sweet, some citrus if you focus, synthetic syrupy middle notes: sweet blistex, cardamom bomb base notes: dries to a nice light sweet vanilla great performance. like O said difficult to wear for me, i feel like the original is more wearable than this. Overall: 7/10

All that stands out on me is a strong cardamom scent. It's just too strong with that one spice scent for me. It drowns everything else out, making it quite literally a one-note fragrance on me. Though , it looks like most other reviewers are getting much more complexity out of this, so it's just a no-go on my skin.

If you like Matiere premiere Encens suave try this. Mostly cardamom then some vanilla, spice, and cinnamon. The cardamom note is as realistic as it gets. Not bad just not my style but I am glad to have sampled it. This puts me in the mood for an order of Gulab Juman. So far projection is risible. You want me to pay what you are commanding for this fragrance it had better perform better than “I think I can smell it but that might be shades of what I was wearing yesterday” which was white Oud. That one is radioactive on the projection and longevity fronts. And quite the chameleon. It is like riding a subway in NYC. This car is redolent of leather from all the coats. While this car wreaks of biological filth from... About an hour in I am getting mild projection so it is noticeable now. Sweet cardamom, resinous. This is very pleasant. Good for when you are around people who don’t care for fragrances. I try to avoid those types lol

The "reminds me of" section is completely cuckoo. This smells nothing like Antique Vanille, nor Althair and its iterations, and NOTHING like Eau Duelle. I can see how this could be delicious to some noses, but all I get is rubber and plasters/band aids. A lovely cardamom vanilla peeks through (which is why I can see that this is appealing to some noses), but it's overwhelmed by the smell of Vaseline, medicine, and bandages.

I love the regular lune feline, but don't care for this one. I think this one smells drier and has less cardamon, but that might just be my nose.

Its like all those balsamic (incense) vanilla scents....Vanagloria, BabyCat, Rosando Mateu °5, Eau D'Ombre leather. For me, this is the worst of the 5. Very balsamic in a bad way. Styrax not very appealing. If you want peppery...get BabyCat, if you like incense, get Vanagloria. If you want something super pleasant - get Eau D'Ombre leather. Like all things that don't smell great - it has really good performance.

I was so excited to try this one. Based on the reviews and the notes I thought it would be a match made in heaven. It was a scrubber for me. I hated it from the first spray. It was way too spicy to me and no hint of sweetness to my nose at all. I tried a second day with it because sometimes my feelings change once I adjust my expectations, but this time there was no change. I gave the decant I purchased away.

Ok, first, I have to say that the gold flakes are amazing! They're real 24K gold. I bought the OG Lune Feline EdP a few years ago, and fell in love with it. I'm a huge vanilla and oriental spice lover, so this fragrance was definitely up my alley. The discount site I purchase from never had the extrait in stock for long. So when I learned of it in stock a couple years ago, I bought two bottles. Am I ever glad I did! It's stunning, especially after the top notes transition into those sensual, warm vanilla and cinnamon base notes. I don't buy many modern perfumes anymore after I fell down the vintage/antique fragrance rabbit hole, but some niches are the exception, like this beauty. I would highly recommend purchasing it if you can afford it. IF you can't, put away every month until you can. Trust me, it's worth saving for.

im a vanilla hater but i dont think i hate this. i like the original but i didnt love it enough to own it bc id never really wear it. i only liked it enough for my own personal wear when i mixed it with fir balsam bc it needs something green and piney to give it a spine. this one is different in that for some reason it has a fruity osmanthus tea accord going on that makes it interesting enough to fully enjoy it. i dont think halfway thru the day that i made a mistake or im bored. but i know if i had this id probably still reach for something else. the extrait pushes every note to the limit and it creates a demanding wear that makes the original feel forgettable. i cant say if u should pick this over the original though bc it depends on the persons personality.

Smells like Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) and resinous, not gourmand Vanilla, in the best possible way. Sweet but not sticky, medicinal, slightly smoky and balsamic Vanilla. Thick and balmy, but not overly dark or syrupy, medicinal and addicting in its own way. Perfectly unisex and bold, not juvenile or playful, more sultry and mature but also not dated or stuffy. Awesome fragrance! Similar to the smoky and leathery vanillas that are popular right now (Babycat, Vanagloria, No. 5, Encens Suave etc.) which are all excellent, but definitely a departure in comparison, more medicinal, less incense, and not quite as sweet. Worth a sniff!

A hooded figure watching from beyond the shadows, but shadows of what, and why in a place no shadow should be? The insidious intrusion, the confounding juxtaposition, the thing found in the wrong place. The stirring of things best left unstirred. Resinous orchid musk, feral balmy, rotting-earthed humidity. Milky murk, like looking through the eyes of the dead. Honeyed spices part buried, cinnamon-cardamom-disinterment deferred, the ground is wrong, a terror in the terroir. The boundless and hideous unknown, a carnal effluvium of the eerie and the weird, reinterpreted as a not-too-bad fragrance. Actually, kinda lovely.

I have and love the original, I also have Babycat and this smells like those 2 had a baby. LFE opens with a prominent vanilla and a smooth suede note to my nose. There’s no suede in the notes but that’s what I smell. I smell much less pepper and cardamom in this version. What I love about the original is the spicy more airy opening with the vanilla and woods in the background. The extrait smells less interesting to me. I like it, and if I ever find a bottle at a discounter for a great price I might pick it up, but I would not pay full price for something that smells like a pretty basic vanilla.

Finally bought a full bottle. It will be delivered in 2 days. I wrote a full review of both the extrait and edp on edp page. I ended up loving this one more because of the additional vanilla added. I had earlier reluctantly bought the edp full bottle at a discounted price of 113$ when this one was out of stock at discount stores ... and boom fortunately I saw this one yesterday at a heavily discounted price. The smell of this on my skin is deeply sensual, sexy and inviting. A typical vanilla pudding. I can’t get over it anytime soon.

Lune Feline is one of my favorite spicy vanilla scents, so I had to try the extrait version. Personally, I get more cardamon from the original. The extrait is much sweeter. Both have that Lune Feline medicinal smell, which I love. As a cardamon lover, I prefer the original, but the extrait is just as beautiful. It all comes down to personal preference.

As others already have mentioned, the extrait is indeed less smokey and a bit sweeter than the EDP. I prefer the original. Lune Feline does have a medicinal smell, but I just love that about it. Makes me think of the red Tiger Balm for sore muscles. It just gives me the same warm, medicinal vibe. My only complaint is they only sell 100ml bottles.

This just doesn’t smell good to me. opening was pure balsam that just smelled medicinal and the dry down is giving vanilla soaked cotton ball wrapped in stinky old rubber bandaids and horse hay.
