Oud Royal

I received this as a gift, after the initial spray it opens with notes of earth and a hint of Oud and cedar as a kind of backdrop. After about 30 minutes the earthy tones dissipate and the remaining notes are a sweet honey (almost like mountain honey you can smell across the room when you crack open a jar) , followed by Agar-Wood and what I can only describe as a kind of Smoke enveloped in a Royal Vanilla, soft but pronounced. This is excellent, it smells mature and classy yet sensual and mysterious. To me this smells like an extremely wealthy Greek or Egyptian Prince having a cigar while walking through his Honey-Bee Farm.

I bought this right after sniffing from the strip in Atelier Rebul's Istanbul shop. The best thing in this scent is that it is more wearable and versatile than your average ouds. The opening has some really funky stuff going down, my sister said it smells like coke flavoured haribos. After the initial spray, this fades quickly, and a very elegant, sweet honey-vanilla scent develops, with a dry oud undertone. The dry-down is somewhat linear, with the vanilla slowly taking over. It is less syrupy and sweet than Montale's somewhat similar oud scents (which are close to this in price), hence you can easily rock this in the spring time as well. For me, it is a rather formal scent, leaning towards a professional edge rather than a going-out scent. Projection and sillage is moderate, but it easily lasts 8-10 hours on my skin, or even 12 in cold weather.

Açıkçası çok rağbet görmemesine şaşırdım. Çünkü benim için gayet giyilebilir bir koku. Sert bir açılışı var. İlk notalar özellikle ouda alışık olmayanları vazgeçirebilir ama biraz sabrederseniz daha kabul edilebilir bir kokuya dönüştüğünü göreceksiniz. Kalıcılık çok iyi ama yayılım orta düzeyde. Bence oud ve bal iyi bir ikili.

i get this as a gift and I dont really love oud before. i mean im under 30 and its smell like a guy 35+ yo. But this fragrance somehow made me love to smell oud over and over. just be carefull to wear this. this is strong in my nose especially in the opening that gave you those sweet honey vanilla mix with oud. i dont know what this frag simlilar too bcs i dont love oud before. but the more i wear it the more i like it. tips : never spray this in your chest (which with some fragrance i love to do it) bcs its a bit punch to ur face
