Beso de Ylang

In 2018, Tzivia Segall decided to launch another floral fragrance inspired by her travels to Provence and India. This time, the sensual and aphrodisiac side of ylang-ylang served as a starting point for the creation of this floriental perfume. Beso de Ylang brings notes of lychee, geranium, rosemary, Artemisia, and orange, on top of the olfactory pyramid, plus a fruity accord that combines lemon, neroli, and Litsea Cubeba (small tropical tree, full of leaves and flowers that smell like lemon). In the body of the fragrance are notes of rose, lily of the valley, magnolia, flower of Lis, sandalwood, and ylang-ylang, the keynote of this fragrance. In the background, notes of vanilla, oakmoss, and musk were combined. On the skin, Beso de Ylang ratifies what I have come to realize in relation to the creative style of the perfumer: she knows how to build beautiful florals. The fragrance has a fruity and green output, which becomes bitter, thanks to the notes of lychee and, mainly, Artemisia. The evolution is almost imperceptible, and everything revolves around vibrant notes in shades of yellow, in true synesthesia. What I feel are floral nuances, in which ylang-ylang and magnolia stand out, as well as a salty facet, which insists on lingering in the background. There is a typical ylang-ylang creaminess, enhanced by the presence of the fleur de lis, which also has bright facets like jasmine. And do not be surprised if you feel the smell of mango or the bitterness of passion fruit. I caught myself having that feeling countless times. More than a simple floriental (as some floral-oriental perfumes are called), Beso de Ylang behaves like a floral-fruity-aromatic that pleased me a lot. It is sensual, but not extremely carnal and/or milky like some white florals. It is powerful and also solar, vibrant, and full of energy. It combines with sunny days in the spring and with women with a large smile and captivating conversation.
