Rebecca 5

Rebecca (also called Rebecca 5 Parfum) was launched in 2004 by Tzivia Segall and Silvia Segall and was inspired by Rebeca Segall Barutti, representing the third generation of women in the family related to perfumery. The number 5 is due to the fact that it was the 5th fragrance created for a commercial project, in 2001. The fragrance is fruity-oriental and was designed to reach, mainly, the female audience. It has notes of watermelon, raspberry, bergamot, red berries, and Sicilian lemon, in the head. In the body, it brings notes of orange blossom, violet, and rose. In the base, notes of iris, sandalwood, musk, and resins were combined. Around 2009, it has gone through a little reformulation, when the base received a touch of myrrh. When applied, immediately, it shows its purpose. It is extremely fruity and looks like a sweet raspberry syrup mixed with a juicy grapefruit. Among the strong smell of children's candy and red fruits, we must thank the presence of the citrus notes. If it were not for them, it would all go downhill. However, this fragrance brings more than a simple accord of fruits (usually obtained with the use of aldehydes); it brings a beautiful orange blossom on an oriental and creamy base. On the skin, it smells like a raspberry jelly being diluted in hot water and even before it cools and hardens, being sprayed on petals of white flowers and resins. It has a rather innocent side - perfect for dreamy teenagers - and also a more contemporary side, much used in designer fragrances like Nina Ricci (Nina and Luna's apples) and Guerlain (La Petite Robe Noire collection). In terms of performance, it has explosive and flashy output, subtle evolution, and great durability. Honestly, I find it a fruity fragrance that is very interesting and peculiar. But, worth reinforcing, it has a very specific target audience and does not match with very hot days or will certainly result in nausea. In my opinion, it's a great choice for young teenagers who want to look older, who like sweetish and striking fragrances, and who do not fit into that slice of Millennials that are looking for products without gender and without much personality.
