I love this smell; for some reason it really suits me, sitting sweetly on my skin with a generous dose of dry spiciness. It also LASTS: I sprayed it at 7 o'clock in the morning, got on an international flight, and TWENTY HOURS LATER when I hugged my mom after quite an epic journey through three different airports the first thing she said was, 'You smell good!'

I love this so so much! I have run out now, and I truly miss it. Desperately need another bottle

Immortelle is probably my number 1 note on my 'black list' of notes I dislike, I actually found out by testing the real extract which is ghastly on its own and I have been recognizing all over the place in the niche perfumery. Think soft damp leather with a touch of cigar bid and a sprinkling of curry powder, with other words that damp dog fur note in HdP 1740. I got this sample scent to me with a purchase and immediately as I sprayed it on I picked up heaps of immortelle. Here Immortelle is framed in heavy of make up like powdery notes and more bitter astringent spice notes, a lot of clove, and further on with some patchouli with vanillic sweet notes rounding it out. Now if I try to picture it without the immortelle, it reminds me of that cold green powder of Diptyque Orpheon with a touch of the scruffy patch from Tempo, but with more ambery sweet notes and, of course, the immortelle which lingers like a guest who has overstayed their visit, but wasn't even that welcome to begin with. Not something I enjoy smelling personally, but if you love immortelle chances are you will like this one.

I’ve also just got this from HooHaa. They have included it in their most challenging rating (Take Me To Mars). When I first tried it, I actually thought it was quite accessible - spicy from the pepper and cardamom, woody from the oud and cedar plus a note that was new to me and I think might be the davana. I didn’t get any of the floral notes but the patchouli is lurking in there somewhere. Even though I sprayed it liberally, the sillage was minimal. I asked my husband what he thought and he hadn’t realised that I was wearing anything. His comment, once he had detected it, was that it didn’t smell like perfume. As the day has worn on, I’m getting what he meant. It’s still spicy but it has turned out too culinary for me. I have been conscious of it all day and I smell like food. It’s not a bad smell. If it was wafting up from a plate set down in front of me, I’d tuck in. It’s just not how I want to smell.

I had good hopes from the notes listed by the brand: pink pepper, musk and white oudh. Although oudh perfumes are often too heavy for me, I do love the pink pepper in Molton Brown Fiery pink pepper, and all my favourite perfumes have musky notes. So I thought I might like this one. Unfortunately it’s not fresh pink pepper like in Molton Brown. This is spicy as if I fell with my nose into my spice drawer. The kardemom and patchouli seem to be most dominant. Not an unpleasant scent, but it’s not what I’d want to smell like. This could have been a Christmas-themed scented candle. This is the 3rd perfume from Vesper that I am trying (I ordered the discovery set), and so far they all seem too spicy/oriental to my taste. I really like the aesthetics, story tell and overall mood of Atelier Vesper and therefore I really wanted to also like their scents. But so far it seems this is just not my fragrance house.
