TONKA NOIR

Got this off ThePefumeGuy’s recommendation as a replacement for Feve Delicieuse since that’s discontinued. Always wanted to try that scent based of the notes but you can’t find a bottle anywhere nowadays unless it’s used for hundreds of dollars Anyways in terms of smell this is amazing. It’s a sweet rich fragrance that’s blended extremely well. I have another alternative to the Dior called Frenetic Delicieuse but this to me smells and projects better than that one. Tested them side by side and this lasted way longer and projected better, and in terms of scent it’s better to me too. This might be the best alternative (to me) for that DNA considering it’s discontinued and really looking forward to wearing it this season. Might pick up more bottles just in case because I love this DNA and I can only imagine how good the original was ThePerfumeGuy also mentioned this one leans closer to the OG formulation because Dior reformulated and re-released it in 2018. I’m wondering if the Frenetic Delicieuse I have is a rendition of the 2018 version while this mimics the OG and that’s why there’s a difference in scent and projection. Either way I’m extremely happy with this scent and hope more companies try to offer discontinued DNAs like this more often

Yesterday I received my two bottles after TPG’s recommendation, and just as he mentioned — they’re potent, with strong projection and high-quality ingredients. You can clearly pick up many of the notes mentioned above.

I recently became intrigued with plum-centric perfumes and wanted to try Athena "Smokey Plum." I had to get my order over $100 USD plus shipping in order to have Athena Perfumes ship from Egypt to the USA. I decided to add on "Tonka Noir." I never had any desire to smell Dior "Feve Delicieuse" because overall, I've never been into designer fragrances all that much. And even now, the perfume notes do not quite resonate with me. OMG...unfortunately "Tonka Noir" is a no. The combination of lavender, cherry and amber make this perfume smell too medicinal, too antiseptic to my nose. There's also something in the mixture that smells very sour on my skin. I've never struggled with tonka bean as a perfume note, so I'm not sure how tonka ties into the fragrance. Also on skin, Tonka Noir dries down quite powdery, an attribute I really dislike in fragrances. Will perhaps update my review with some additional wear.

Definitely has that Dior dna. It is refined enough and smells good
