Atkinsons Her Majesty The Oud

Her majesty the oud I tried this a few months back in colder weather and was not impressed. I just tried it again in the heat and it’s a completely different experience! Wow! This totally bloomed in the heat! This smells very much equal parts British and middle eastern to me. Mind you, I’m neither of those things, so I’m going purely based on imagination. But anyway, half of it reminds me of sweet British puddings and Christmas cakes and refined leather and prim florals, whereas the other half is middle eastern: oud and saffron and spice as well as more carnal, lush, heady florals. It’s weird, you’d think heavy oudy-oriental oud-rose and oud-floral perfumes would be best in colder weather like most thick, heavy, opulent perfumes, but it really is true that somehow, for some reason, they just BLOOM and come alive in the heat! I’ve noticed this ESPECIALLY with oud-rose and other floral-oud combos. Anyway this is so nice that I definitely need a bottle asap! This is PERFECT for sultry, languid, hot and almost steamy summer nights. Very sexy. But also very expensive and sophisticated smelling. In colder weather it loses its sex appeal but retains and perhaps gains even more sophistication, but in a colder and more austere way. I don’t even care if I only end up wearing this during half the year or less, it is SO gorgeous in the heat that it’s absolutely worth buying a bottle for me. The longevity I agree is not great but it’s not that bad. It doesn’t disappear THAT quickly on me (I get 6 hours minimum) but it does become more of a skin scent after about 3 hours or so unless you really spray a lot of it. Personally that’s not a big deal for me, especially since this isn’t egregiously expensive and the performance isn’t horrible, it’s just ok. I do recall it being more of an issue in colder weather. Again, not much of an issue for me since I see this being primarily, if not exclusively, a warm/hot weather scent for me.

What a difficult job when you want to review something that you liked a lot but has not exceed your expectations... I must beging saying that of course I like the fragrance and therefore I am giving the máximum punctuation here. However I expected a very intense and strong fragrance which lasts for hours projection massively and filling a Room with the scent with your Only presente.... But nothing fuerte than this. The opening IS amazing! A hints of leather and fruits with a Soft oud in the base which begins to Fade out to leave the floral part, overall osmanthus, appears. It is a gorgeus scent, very elegant and intense. At this moment I thought...This Will be my Next purchase. It is also quite unique, although It Shares some similarities with perfumes like Bois d'oud by Perris Montecarlo. The biggest dissapointment came with the dry down. It becomes suddenly much more generic, a Soft Woody floral scent with a very moderate projection which lasts no lore than 4-5 hours. It reminds me to the behaviour of other British brands like Jo Malone London or creed. Although I think I would not buy It I can recognize the quality.

I find it drier and harsher than Oud Save The Queen. I like both, though this would get silver, not gold. It is for those days when I want to feel more masculine (I consider this fragrance to be unisex). It's dry burnt wood, leather and a bit of leather polisher and delicious gourmand undertones of fruit jam. As if one had a full tea ceremony served in the middle of the desert, surrounded by the smells of the hard life of the local tribes. Don't feel any rose or iris. As far as oud fragrances go, this one is softened to suit the western tastes, but has a side to it that wants to break free and go wild. Or at least a bit wilder.

Absolutely stunning presentational at First smell.I was made aware of the beauty in A golden palace surrounded by beautifully dressed women.The fragrance is not too intense. The smell is not dizzy And it made me realize the beauty in this smell.If you like the fragrance, it smells expensive.This one won't disappoint you.

I love this! An almost chocolatey smoky oud (not stinky) with a slight fruit and sweetness. It’s catered towards women, but this is an easy wear for anyone. Could last a bit longer or project a bit more, but still a lovely smell.

Fruity, oudy, floral. The fruitiness come from lots of dried fruits and osmanthus flower which give it almost like peach scent. This is a nose friendly oud with a big dose of vanilla and leather ornament in their drydown.

a slightly more feminine take on an oud fragrance. it's lighter compared to a male oud fragrance, however in saying that, this could definitely be passed off as unisex. I am wearing a sample right now. it is very nice.

This fragrance is sweet and cozy, with a hint of cherry though I’m not sure if that’s just my nose playing tricks on me. There’s a woody, resinous pine vibe, which adds to its comforting, ambery warmth. Surprisingly, I don’t really pick up much oud, but there’s a subtle smokiness that gives it depth. It’s inviting, smooth, and pleasant, though I expected it to be stronger and longer-lasting. Not my favorite from the line, but definitely not the worst. Oud save the queen and king is better tho. Scent - 7/10 Longevity - 7/10 Sillage - 7/10 Bottle - 10/10 Value for money - 7/10 Overall - 7,6/10

I enjoyed this, but probably don’t find it quite full bottle worthy. I found this to be a very unisex scent. Very comforting/cozy - I liked this best as a bedtime scent, especially in winter. That’s also probably because the longevity and silage are both on the weaker side - this is definitely more of a skin scent than anything with major projection. There’s nothing wrong with this scent, but in the vast realm of fruity/floral/oud combos this one doesn’t stand out too much for me.

this opens with fruity leather with hints of iris and saffron and woody/leather nuances from the oud. a sweet leather. after a bit the saffron/iris/vanilla soften the other notes and i get maybe a hint of rose, but it's not super prominent. a pretty oud for colder months. the florals take awhile to bloom but take over with saffron and the fruits fade into the background while the overall perfume becomes less sweet.

the scent is beautiful, a sophisticated oudy floral fragrance, but sillage and longevity are so poor!!! For me it is not worth it unless you don't mind to reapply every 30 minutes.

I think the open is supposed to be jammy, but on my skin it smells like a particularly awful-tasting, but really effective cough syrup. The drydown is powdery, a little sweet and cosy like a well-worn, still fluffy, dressing gown. It's a shame about that opening, it overpowers the lovely heart and base notes making this unlikely to be blind buy safe unless you really like, or can power through, the synthetic candied fruit-type opening note.

On paper I get the fruity notes and a slight touch oud but on my skin it completely disappears leaving a vague note of leather.

Whole line is too black orchidesque

All i can sense is coconut - weird

A fruity mess, doesn't really go the same route as Oud Save The Queen although there are some similarities in the drydown. I get ZERO smokiness. Nothing cozy. It's like a fruit punch - punching me in the face. Very very seeet, way too sweet to enjoy.

All of this majesty talk has me thinking about Coming to America. There's a quote in the movie that parallels my sentiment of this fragrance in comparison to OUD SAVE THE QUEEN.."Why are you hugging him, he's just the servant." {Pointing at Semmi} He's the Prince!! OUD SAVE THE QUEEN is the Prince Hakeem or should i say the "white glove wave hand" of this duo for sure but that's not to say that HER MAJESTY THE OUD isn't workable. I'm having a hard time with this one. Although I acknowledge this to be sorta nice, it's as odd as Egg Mcmuffins at night. This is like some sort of chalky berry composite. There's a synthetic glow filling out the borders of this fragrance that has me on the fence. I've been oud-ing it up lately and in comparison to the real stuff i've encountered, this oud is blah. Sometimes it's good to have some dull oud in the perfume. I'm not knocking it. At least it doesn't overpower the fancier aspects of this creation. With double dosage of leather coming from the actual leather and saffron, one would surmise this would be a cow of a note. The leather is sociable and good-natured sorta like the people this is catered for. What makes this perfume airy and dainty are the powdery notes emanating from the iris and turkish rose. Atkinsons can be trusted.

i love this very very much i smelt it in the airport on my first business trip and it wouldn't leave my mind i did buy it a few business trips later when i got my bonus but it was in my mind gnawing at my thoughts for 10 months ..( it wasn't sold in my country so i had to wait for the next time i was in said other country) it lasts very long on me and clings onto fabric (but not polyester so don't wear it with that) it's very expensive but i think the presentation of the packaging and the bottle makes for a more luxurious experience than other perfumes from this price range

Unfortunately I'm disappointed about this fragrance, is so weak!! €110 with something doesn't last at least 30 minutes. And first impression is that smells like hospital place, I don't Know how explain, but came in my mind hospital, medicine products, bad blind for me!!! Sorry !! *** seems like iodine that is it i was traying to explain/find****
