Bizarre

J'ai découvert ce parfum grâce à une copine de fac d'origine italienne.Un pur délice. Avant de rentrer en Italie, elle m'avait laissé un échantillon en souvenir. Depuis, nous nous sommes sommes perdues de vue. Aujourd'hui, je recherche partout ce parfum et je ne le trouve plus. Quel dommage...

Lembra minha adolescencia... um perfume alegre e jovem!

Mi incuriosisce molto chi crede di riconoscere le singole note tipo la rosa,le aldeidi, nei profumi del passato come Bizarre,per esempio. I profumi vintage erano prodotti con l'assemblaggio di centinaia di oli essenziali naturali perché proprio in quanto tali dovevano essere tante per avere uno spessore, a differenza di quelli di oggi che sono sintetici e cremosi e talmente densi e appiccicosi che con due o tre aromachemical crei un profumo completo. Pertanto non si possono distaccare le singole note dal bouquet . Bizarre si percepisce come freddo,amaro,aspro, a volte sa di cielo e aria altri momenti piccante e terroso. A me non piaceva tanto quando ero negli anni 80 perché preferivo le fragranze dolci e speziate però adesso,dopo piu di 40 anni lo trovo molto bello e anche inebriante.

I remember giving it to my mom in the second half of the 80s with pocket money ... what a thrill to see it again !!! I gave away the one with the bottle in the shape of a stylized inkwell, the cap looked like a pen. I remember it stormy with aldehydes, with large quantities of citrus and spicy notes, with an important note of lily of the valley. Undoubtedly a dominant and glacial fragrance. A fragrance that tells the story of a period. I haven't seen it around since, I'd like to hear it again and be able to test it.

This is the perfume that all Italian teenagers had in the 80s. The one you would always get given at your birthday party, the young, sparkly, innocent perfume alongside Daniela Goggi's and Heather Parisi's aerobic outfits, the one in the blue sparkly neon tin, rather than the bottle in the video attached to this entry above (which is based very much on Breakfast at Tiffany's, albeit in the original, Audrey Hepburn was wearing L'Interdit. The voice of the woman in the ad is the amazing Cinzia de Carolis, ie the voice of Mademoiselle Oscar in Versailles No Bara/Lady Oscar). The perfume itself is actually a green, not a chypre, also according to the accompanying leaflet in the Atkinsons tin: "Creato nel 1979; profumo della famiglia delle fragranze "verdi". Bouquet di fiori tra i quali predominano il giacinto, il gelsomino ed il neroli, contornati da uno scoppio di armonie di note verdi, ingentilite dalla fusione con toni fruttati. Il corpo del profumo e' arricchito da tocchi legnosi e vellutati di vetiver e sandalo che lo rendono particolarmente persistente e vivace". Translation: "Created in 1979, perfume of the green fragrance family. Flower bouquet with notes of hyacinth, jasmine and neroli dominating others, and accompanied by a burst of green notes harmonies, softened by a fusion of fruity tones. The perfume body is enriched by velvety and woody vetiver and sandalwood, which make it particularly persistent and vivacious". This is the perfume of rollerskate discos, pink bedrooms and flower printed rucksacks, an innocent fruity green which actually smells very good even now. The Atkinsons firm is now established in Italy after starting in London in the 18th century, where they were perfumers to the then Royal Family. Their competence and experience is still seen today in the very unsual and varied collection of reasonably priced, handsome perfumes such as Baruffa, Bizarre, Euforia and Poivre, a great spicy oriental I would love to see on Fragrantica. Well worth trying some when you go to Italy and in need of a cheap perfume fix! They have now concentrated more on their I Coloniali fragrances, which have more of a gourmand/fruity feel, but in my mind they're still those who made me feel innocently "all grown up" when I was 13.
