Tulipe Noire

This fragrance reminds of something familiar, and it is Black Datura by Miller Harris. A more subdued and subtle version, muskier and less warm. Tulipe Noir would be the designer version for the Black Datura, if that makes any sense... It’s totally different than what I thought it would be based on the name and the gothic look of the bottle but I absolutely love it. Tulipe Noire has an intoxicating tuberose and jasmine opening with a sharp, tangy rhubarb and some spicy coriander. A bit of unusual combination of notes but very addictive. Once it settles down, it goes into a more woody, musky direction but remains a forward spicy white floral. So far, the most interesting (but not unique) scent from the whole discovery set that I like from beginning to the end. Surprisingly good juice and just judging by the notes I would have never thought about giving this a try. I think I have to revisit my Black Datura sample to see which is my favourite out of these two and which performs better. I will update soon. Edit: After testing this two side by side, Black Datura is far superior in terms of smell, quality, depth and performance in my experience.

Tulipe Noire is a fairly classic floral that is soft and very easy to wear. It is a totally spring perfume. Exquisite tuberose, with a greenish finish due to rhubarb and a very musky drydown with an overload of ambroxan. I loved the aroma, it shows great quality, although it doesn't provide anything new since there are many perfumes that smell similar. The performance is quite limited, as has happened to me with the other perfumes of this brand. Duration of 4-5 hours with a projection close to the skin. Even so, I liked the perfume and it seems like a good option for spring if you don't have anything in your collection of green, fresh and slightly amber tuberoses.

This, for the price, is an amazing juice from start to finish. I am really digging the opening through to the dry down. Opens with slightly sweet floral rhubarb. I get hints of jasmine along with slight citrus. Very pleasing. The dry down is a gentlemanly cedar musk ambrox mix... Very nice juice. Not in a cutting edge way just in a nice gentleman way. Can be worn casual, office or date IMO. Top notch and affordable (less than $55 US for 100 ml). Enjoy!

You can love it or just hate it. On my skin it smells amusing but non of my friends or family members wear it like I do. They liked it, some tested it using mine, and the others just got it. And Only one was happy by it. On his skin smelled nice, but on the others ́ skin it was horrible. The Longevity and silage is very good. So test it, at least a few times before you buy it. And since it is very expensive so test it.

Lovely tuberose-jasmine scent. I found it quite similar to one of my favorite tuberoses by Molinard. In fact, I'd say it is a man's version of it. There is a bit of spice provided by coriander seeds and bergamot which I like, it makes a heavy creaminess of a tuberose-jasmine heart not so intense. Silage is not the greatest, on my skin, it lasted 6 hours before disappearing completely without a trace. On a dry down, I can sense strong sandalwood and cedar. Not a bad scent

Initial test paper sample i was handed at the mall was so lovely, I had to go test it on my skin! The first 30mins was great- toned down ambery and soft floral.. I was happy I'd just stumbled upon a really good scent by coincidence! then came the drydown I'm guessing it's the ambroxan? major annoying scent out of nowhere- even after I tried washing it off it's still there & now giving me a headache. This is so sad the opening was so fine.. such hopes...

Tulipe Noire by Atkinsons predominantly captures the essence of white flowers, with jasmine taking a lead role that at times surpasses the tuberose. The initial sharpness is marked by a continuous interplay of bergamot and coriander, which could be somewhat demanding for certain preferences. As the fragrance settles, you may notice a delicate touch of oud, accompanied by the presence of ambroxan.

Headache generator! That's what you get when you mix and overdose amberwoods with tuberose. I pick a huge lot of norlimbanol or ambrocenide here, it's too much. Sometimes producers use tons of them as a cheap power move (because these are very strong and inexpensive) and it seems to be the case here as well. Apart from that, some jasmine comes into play with hints of citruses and that's all. Performance is very good (obviously, thanks to abovementioned amberwoods). Tested it few times already on my wrists and regret it, because it smells so artificial and nauseating and you cannot wash it out from your hands easily.

Interesting scent, this is a bomb of tuberose and jasmine, maybe other white flower going on, Gardenia? with a very dense base of woods, musk, ambroxan. The notes say this has cedar and sandalwood. I do get some of cedar and sandalwood, but I also get a very distinctive note of Oud, the clean inky type (Probably the ambroxan overload gives the illusion of Oud?) Not mentioned in the pyramid but it is there and after a while, it rules,the flowery notes become quieter, and what seems Oud now leads the show, making this scent a very eccentric combination of white flowers (sometimes a bit grapey like Alien) with dense Oud. I am not an Oud lover, but here it is not skanky barnyard stuff. I can wear it without problem. I think men and women can wear it, however, it leans towards the feminine side due to the white flowers. Imagine this is a gothic version of Mugler's Alien, with a dense Oud/ambroxan base. Update: After a while, this is 50-60% ambroxan/oud. Run for your life if you can't tolerate these notes. Also, if you are wondering...the bottle is black in the inside, the liquid is transparent.

Puis l’évolution , et là , avec les notes de fond , ambroxan , musc et bois vous passez du mode gentil garçon au mode homme charmant , et la séduction agit, sans forcé les choses, l’odeur devient étonnamment sophistiquée, mystérieuse car vintage et moderne à la fois , une odeur ambré vraiment irrésistible , charnelle avec cette pointe de fleur en arrière plan qui persiste jusqu’à la fin , très élégant . Je pense qu’au printemps il fera des ravages...

A tuberose, musk and ambroxan bomb. Very similar to Juliette Has A Gun White Spirit, but Tulipe Noire’s performance is much stronger. Projection is big and longevity is there. I could not detect any rhubarb, but it does get a little fruity later on. I like it, but I don’t love it. Skip if you’re sensitive to ambroxan. There’s A LOT here.

Wow, a rich dense scent, I get tuberose, jasmin, ambroxan, and yes oud like someone mentioned. It's a night fragrance, a white floral, dense, amber oud slightly spicy night fragrance. Drydown a little funky oud. And I missed the rhubarb completely. Nice opening though!

@fastfragranceboi I completely agreed with your headache, cause they are really headache makers to me too, but norlimbanol is not cheap, ambrocenide is expensive like ambroxan. If you know their cheap vendors, please let me know. :)

This is a lovely scent. Very much unisex but definitely leaning feminine. However, I enjoy this one because It’s very relaxing and would be great as an evening scent.

To me this smells like sharp ambroxan with a hint of floral note. Definitely more feminine. It's the type of scent that could be nauseating after a few mins.

This is legit Alien without the idole and more ambroxan to replace the vanilla. This is a masculine counterpart to alien. I’m dead serious

The watered down version of PDM PEGASUS. Just try them both. I didn find any mystery in it.
