White Rose de Alix

@anamandy has it right again. This is a fabulous AMBER FLORAL fragrance. White Rose is not I repeat not a Chypre. Again the way the vanilla and labdanum (which the basis for amber in the first place) and the way it is blended with the fruits and the saffron cushions the florals in a deliciously sweet warmth. This perfume is so satisfying to experience and to wear. It smells very of today but you can tell it was made with a respect for the past. There are classic touches that weave in and out when you smell white rose but it still smells new and fresh. It is seamlessly blended. I can sense the parts that make up the whole but they do not shout at me like they do in most postmodern fragrances. If you are looking for a perfume that smells exactly like a rose don't sample this. White rose is more than just a rose and even more than just a bouquet of flowers it is a well made experience. It envelops you in the sensation of its beauty. Delicious, delightful, a joy to wear. Ladies if you are looking for a perfume that is feels lovely light and airy, gives you the feeling of joy but has depth and real presence white rose is the one. Full bottle worthy. Edit later today. Another thing I really appreciate about this perfume is it reminds me of my beloved rose Boheme. The reason is the way the saffron is used by both perfumers. It is gentle. The composition is never about the spice, like it can be when it is overused which is one of the reasons I passed on a full bottle of Ormande Jayne ta'if. Ta'if is to much about the saffron and becomes to metallic and not enough of a story of the rose and other florals in that fragrance. While I liked it there was something jaring about wearing it. Not with white rose. Spices should compliment the overall composition instead of being the focal point in any floral fragrance. Again, this is an excellent perfume on all fronts. From scent profile, blending, longevity and projection. Edit: 1/9/24 In the far dry down I smell my grandmother's large bed of Sweet William. I just love this fragrance.

I do not understand why this is listed as a chypre. Is it because it has patchouli and labdanum that it is listed that way? Two notes do not a chypre make. This is more an amber floral than a chypre, even though there is no amber listed in the notes. The vanilla and the way it is blended with the fruit notes gives this an ambery accord. The lychee and raspberry blends seamlessly with the floral notes and vanilla and turns this into a soft, sweet and creamy floral that I find downright delicious - and no, it is not a gourmand - but it is delicious, nonetheless. There is the barest trace of saffron, so beautifully done it doesn't spoil this fragrance with medicinal notes, nor do I get powder from this and fortunately do not even smell the dreaded patchouli which spoils too many rose perfumes for me. The performance is wonderful. I put on a few dabs to test and am surrounded by the most beautiful soft cloud of fragrance that lasted until I washed it off. It's funny, but the only reason I purchased a sample of this was to cross the free shipping threshold, and I wound up liking this more than all the other samples I purchased. This is going on my fb list for sure. Further notes - I'm surprised to see this compared to Guerlain Idyll as this doesn't smell anything like that to me. That is one of the few fragrances from Guerlain that I really don't care for and if this smelled anything like that I would not like this at all right now. I'm also surprised to learn that Atkinson decided to revamp the original version the Empress of Russia loved. While I adore this version, I sure would have liked to have smelled the original version that Alexandra was so enthralled with and wish they would have reissued that too.

This is a beautiful perfume. I definitely get the similarities to PdM Delina as far as the fruit and floral goes. But still different enough to have a bottle of Atkinsons White Rose de Alix. Very feminine perfume, and as cometicquafrag said, it's light and airy, not sugary. I get rose, musk, litchi, but not so strong that it makes me cough. It's very well made, well-blended, so it's hard to pick out the rest of the notes. On me it had great sillage and longevity. It lasted about 8 hours on my wrists and neck. On clothes it lasted much longer. I did get a compliment from a random stranger I walked past, so I guess the sillage is at least 6 feet. I would buy this one if they sold it at stores in the US. I did manage to test this one from one of the lovely perfumistas on here.

Wow! Amazing fragrance. My favorite from this house. Opens with a very starburst like rose/litchi pounce. The white musk joins in with a hint of jasmine. The dry down is just beautiful as this fragrance transcends into a light floral as if it was evening time in the rose garden. I do not get any spice out of this. This fragrance also does not remind me of anything out there. There is some similarity to Byredo Rose Noir, but this is much more sparkly. This is more floral than fruity. Very grown scent. Longevity 6-8 hours Silage AMAZING Performance 10/10

Excellent fragrance - modern rose with peoni and litchi, very feminine and envelping - a head turner. I ordered a FB of Dellina Exclusif and had to immediately to get rid of it, so harsh it was for me. Atkinson's RDA is exactly what I expected from Dellina - spring in the bottle, sophistication and sexiness. I am happy to have found it. I fi had to more specifically compare it to Dellina - D is an nonaplogetic attention seeker, RDA is the one who is sure she will get the attention without a need to shout.

Such a lovely feminime fragrance. This is one of my best Effortless beauty kind of fragrance. So fresh, feminime, fruity floral but still has depth in it. I sprayed once on my wrist, few seconds later my little daughter looked at me and told me how goooooood I smelled! And she was quite far from me. Bit soapy but expensive kind of soapy like Andromeda direction. Good longevity & overall very happy with this beauty!

I found this beauty at Tjmaxx for $60.. I’m happy I purchased it because it’s really a pretty scent, very girly 🌸and lasts very well. Great blind buy for me 💕

TL/DR version: This is a jammy rose-dominant fragrance with an underpinning of spiciness that makes it tantalizing. I have a penchant for rose-dominant fragrances. And, I'm quite unapologetic about that. I have met very, very few rose fragrances that I didn't like. And, this one is no exception. This is just the sort of jammy rose that is my weakness. It is a gothic, jammy, somewhat spicy rose that is balanced by a zing of fruitiness from the raspberry and litchi. It's elegant and lovely. A bit too sweet for particularly high heat, but versatile enough that you could safely wear it most of the year without complaint. The labdanum and saffron offer a tantalizing spiciness that you get subtle hints of while you wear the fragrance. I'm impressed with how this fragrance puts together the elements of a fruitchouli fragrance with a rose and still manages to be not only wearable but lovely. This one had me huffing my wrists because I loved it so well.

Don't think it's fair dismissing a perfume because it reminds one of some other perfume. It is an uber-femenine and soft juicy-fruity-floral composition. Very light and airy, not sugary, just the sweetness from litchi and peony. I also feel a good dose of musk. A lovely cheerful perfume. Kind of almost a bit too feminine for modern times, but very charming. Would be so interesting to know if this is really in any way similar to the original perfume of the Russian queen.

This is an extremely pretty scent - it’s a lovely balance sweet, floral and juicy. However, I don’t feel it’s complex enough nor does it have good enough projection or longevity to justify the price. If it was given to me I’d wear it, I’ll happily use up the sample that I have - but I wouldn’t fork out for a full bottle. Finally this is very like Parfum De Marly Delina - there are maybe hints of it but don’t blind buy this thinking it will be the same.

I tried it couple of days ago, and it’s essentially copy of Idylle by Guerlain. Two hours into it still very much Idylle but not as multi faceted as Guerlain’s original. So I’m wondering what’s the point? It’s been done before for a lower price tag. I find it pointless and redundant. Go figure...

Soft delicate floral fruity shipre, but lasting and elegant. Recommended

I loved the history of this blend. It's a cinnamon, litchi, and Bulgarian roses with lot of pepper syrup. It has a tingly hint of spices but over all a sweet fruitti blend and less roses. Today, there are several blends that smells the same but the heritage behind this blend is just mesmerizing in away that makes it unique by itself. Now don't get me wrong, this blend is quite amusing but a bit overly common nowadays and it's quite safe to be worn beside being loved by both genders who adores fruitti roses. Interesting.

Very soft dusty floral... whispy and barley there. edit - this is incredible aside from performance bc its so well rounded and fem.. its a little powdery with a soft rose vanilla.. not complex but really great for the price.. could be a signature. lovee!!

Litchi juice/pink peonies/rose/red berries with a flurry White vanilla(vanillin) base. It’s loud and floats around you like a cloud that everyone can smell. Last all day too. It smells like a drink and honestly stays drinkable the whole time.
