Kinamo

Honestly, this is a very different fragrance. When you first spray it, you get a deep resinous opening with smoky, leathery, almost plum-like facets. The initial sweetness and fruitiness fade quickly, giving way to an incense-heavy, rough smokiness—almost like burnt wood. The first time I wore it, it was off-putting, but I was smelling it directly on my wrist, not in the air, which isn’t the best way to judge something this strong and diffusive. As it settled, it turned into something like a fireside candle. I can imagine many women saying this smells like or reminds them of their father. It’s very masculine, with a petrol-like sharpness layered over sweet, crushed wet flowers and woody smoke. The dry down is wonderful—sweet resins that feel warm and comforting. It takes a long time to develop and actually transforms in a really interesting way, but it’s definitely challenging. Once you get past the rough ride, it oddly feels like it takes you somewhere peaceful, almost like paradise. These perfumes feel more like memories than simple “this smells good” fragrances. It’s more like: what is that? mixed with no thanks and ...wait, give me more.

Burning woods, oud and dusty leather. If you smell this at a glance that is predominantly what you will get, and this combination to me gives the imagery of a dusty coal mine. There is more going on behind all of this, but it takes a real deep dive to get the rest of it to show itself. Underneath it is a powdery white floral soap with fruity facets. A coal mine worker, 10 minutes into their shift after having only showered just before they started work. Aspects of their cleanliness still remain, but its slowly being smothered by the dark smell of the coal mine. There's definitely an underlying link here with Murasakino for sure, maybe the same base is used or this may just be indicative of Aton's style.
