Mr Cerulean

This ended up being one of the best blind buys I’ve made in a long time! The opening leans fruity, but in a clean, uplifting way. The blueberry is blended smoothly with lemon and a touch of pink pepper that gives it this airy sparkle without ever going syrupy or overly sweet. It doesn’t come off gourmand at all, which I really appreciate. As it develops, it’s extremely well blended. You can still pick up the individual notes, but they’re woven together in a way that feels natural and smooth rather than layered or disjointed. The mid transitions into a clean, slightly green/woody freshness, and the drydown is where it really hooked me: soft, musky, slightly warm, and clean, with a subtle fruity glow that comes and goes in the air. It’s honestly super addicting. Performance has been better than expected. After over an hour, it’s still clearly projecting, just not loudly. It doesn’t shout or choke you out, but it’s definitely present. I have a pretty sensitive nose, and it hits that perfect balance of noticeable without being overwhelming. It creates a nice scent bubble where I keep catching wafts of it. I’ve even had people notice it before seeing me, so it does carry, just in a refined way. For context, I first wore this after a hot shower in a cool indoor setting with a light breeze, and it performed beautifully! Smooth evolution, great diffusion, and very easy to wear. Based on this and how it’s developed over time, I can see this being very versatile and something I’ll reach for often. In a climate like San Diego, this feels close to year-round wearable. It leans fresh and uplifting in warmer temps, and more cozy, clean, and slightly warm in cooler conditions. What really stands out is how it hits all the marks I was hoping for! It’s cozy, clean, and slightly warm, all while still having a fruity dimension that keeps it uplifting and interesting. It’s unique without being weird, noticeable without being loud, and just genuinely enjoyable to wear.

I have been looking fora blueberry that actually did the job for years. Atrium pulled it off. I’m exhausted and will update this later but I cannot stop spraying it on myself.

EDIT: On second wearing this came off as much more powerful to me. I put it on in the morning and drove across Illinois and it was honestly kind of choking me out. So I do not think of this as as weak as I initially thought it was. Its character does last in a "I'm smelling this without trying to" way for at least 4-5 hours. Can't comment past that. I think my feelings on the scent itself are the same, this just felt like a more powerful version of what I described. ORIGINAL: Got a sample and I like Omar but unfortunately I think this is kind of whatever. The blueberry accord does work, but go smell a blueberry...they do not smell like much. This is mostly a gentle musky, slightly powdery fragrance. It's surprisingly minimal. If you want something like a Molecule 01 this could be for you. But if you are thinking of a "long lasting bright fresh scent" this is not that. This is like the opposite of Aaron Terence Hughes fragrance. This is gentle, smooth, safe, a bit faint. While the musks in an ATH fragrances are super loud, creamy, thick, pronounced. Neither are my style personally. This is a bit too safe. I think this could use more woods and citrus or something. I can credit the application of musks, I like how they set in but I feel like there is not enough going on here.

the initial blueberry note is quite nice, reminds me of walking past someone sucking on a blueberry vape. Then it goes away and it just feels a bit off and weird. Do not recommend

I got a sample of this to try and was blown away by it and immediately ordered a full bottle. I think I'd avoided this in the past because the 'Project Blueberry' referencing made me think it was maybe a one-note wonder, but it totally masks what an incredible all-round fragrance this one turned out to be. Beautifully natural smelling, completely versatile while remaining a very high-end scent, and has quickly become a go-to for me. I'd even go as far as to say that having Mr. Cerulean and Mr. Maritime gives you an incredible two-bottle combo that has you covered for a formal and casual scent choice with a ton of overlap between the two in terms of situations you can wear them in. Those two together have become my travel fragrance pairing, knowing I can get through pretty much any event or activity with one of those and not feel out of place.
