Leather Effecto

I blind bought this perfume due to its repeatedly mentioned similarity with Side Effect, which I like, but can't love because it performs quite weakly on myself. Is it similar? Yes, probably like 95%. The 5% come from a slight suede note (not really leather, but suede), which I also like. There is nothing animalic per se about this scent, so if you are expecting a rough fragrance, this is definitely not it. Many might say this is a nighttime fragrance, but I am wearing it during the day and it fits really well, especially at low temperatures (-5 to 0 degrees currently in my country), while wearing fluffy sweaters. With that being said, I find it quite versatile for the colder days, regardless of the occasion/circumstances. 10/10? Not sure, maybe 9/10 at best, because I expected it to create a larger scent bubble, which it definitely doesn't: it lasts a whole day, but its trail and bubble are medium. Worth the price? If you use it only on colder days, a bottle might last for some time, so I think Leather Effecto is more worthy than Side Effect, whose price per mililiter is slightly higher, if you pay the full retail price.

Reproducing the smell of leather with olfactory notes. An objective perfectly achieved by Leather Effecto, a fragrance that literally left me speechless. I define it as a magical combination of aromas such as saffron, very delicate, rum, sandalwood and vanilla which with their softness recreate an enveloping but rough smell at the same time, giving life to elegantly leathery scents. A kind of Perfume that I love, expression of a duplicity that fascinates me: sweetness and strength, charm and awe. Really, really beautiful. It goes directly on my wishlist. Ideal for the cooler seasons. “Flower Thrower” by Banksy, an artist who always manages to emotionate me with his thoughtful contrasts.

They've done it! They took Side Effect and made it more complex and refined, no synthetic opening and a beautiful evolution to a leathery fragrance with the side effect sweetness backing it up. Please guys, try it! You will be amazed :)

I've never smelled Side Effect but this definitely smells like a more refined and expensive version of Aftermath which is a clone of Side Effect. It's good, I definitely get more vanilla and amber than I do anything else. The spices are way in the background for me and for some reason I don't really get a lot of booziness from the rum. I wish the perfumer had more fragrances available in America or at the very least North America because everything I've smelled that he's done was pretty good. Maybe time will tell.

Opens rum-foward with a nutmeg bias, but then transitions to an unmistakable vanilla-bias jasmine. Soon after the labdanum makes itself known, it combines with the woody, faint vanilla, amber, and musky notes to present itself as an abstractly drawn, elegant leather (finally), as opposed to a raw leather that has been doused in clean notes to smell nice. If this profile interests you, go wild, but personally, this doesn't interest me.

Definitely sweet but saffron and nutmeg gives it an edge and makes it masculine. Has that Middle Eastern vibe. Sillage and longevity are good.

Testing this blind (which I highly recommend) this opened fairly bright with a very light whisky and musky cat urine (hawthorn bud?) air, with some just hintly spice base below. As the brightness fades I get a little more warmth and some elements of wood come into play. Throughout the day it still resides on the light side, never really deepening, and the assuming Hawthorne musky Element remains, which makes me a little surprised looking at the notes now. I honestly don't think many people would find this leathery if completely blind testing, it's too light and just as rum like as it is apparently leather like. The combination of the jasmine and musk, with amber is throwing me way off about the Hawthorne. It does have an elegant musky, light rum/leather body, with good longevity, the sheer adding some complexity, but at times this complexity comes off as confusion to me. Of course, all that matters is you like it. Mix a sample in with these others blindly and then decide.

Leather comes in many forms, and I was delighted to find my favorite kind here: smooth, creamy and refined, without the tarry or rubbery facets that often make leather fragrances difficult for me. This is not about rugged masculinity but about the luxurious feel of finely crafted leather. It reminds me of a brand-new leather accessory that has already absorbed the scent of an expensive perfume. Elegant, beautifully made, and exceptionally long-lasting.

I’ve had side effect and I loved it but there was something that was missing and was slightly bothering and it was overall not an easy reach for me. Then I tried leather effecto and this is everything I expected from side effect. Much much better, absolute love and it has a special place in my heart
