Lavande Ombree

This scent, much like its similarly tempered brother, Bergamote Boisee, is an austere one with a hint of a warm and sweet side. Over the last year or so, I have grown incredibly fond of lavender in perfumery - when done right, it exhibits a warm woodiness and vanillic undertone that blends beautifully with the herbal aspect of lavender...however, I didn't sense much of this gorgeous note in this fume. It actually starts with an alluring cumin and cedar accord with a hint of crisp, medicinal lavender on a backdrop of ambered leather. Again, the floral notes (rose is listed) are really hard for my nose to tease out and the musk takes its time to reveal itself with a reemerging lavender note. The cinnamon might have been used to accentuate the dustiness of the leather - it's hard to tell. In spite of the serious looking notes, there is a warm, sweet aspect to the fume that is much like Bergamote Boisee's honeyed oakmoss but resembles more of a honeyed leather this time around. Imagine a dirty lavender, not filthy per se, but interlaced with the earthier, more pungent herbs of the lot: lovage, thyme, and oregano. The lavender is front and center, but the other herbs are all in tow, and they lead the wearer to a birch tar inflected leather laced with nutmeg and cinnamon. Further on, patchouli and a tonquitone-like musk carries it into a skin-scent phase, with traces of lavender seeming to remain. This is an approximation of what I experience with Lavande Ombree. It's reminiscent of a finer quality 80s masculine aromatic leather with an added pedigree to its content. Sadly, the whole Les Inédits from Au Pays has been discontinued for some time, but if found for a reasonable price, this could be an appealing addition for those who have a penchant for this style and also live for lavender.

I got a sample of this because I was on a search for leather and this combination of lavender and leather sounded appealing. Lavender is very up front with the leather. At first, the leather impression was similar to Knize Ten. As it dries down, the wood becomes detectable and it settles into a musky powdery base, but the lavender is always there. Now when ever I detect rose but it isn't prominent, I get powdery from that. Maybe that is what it is. I tried this first on paper and it didn't smell like something I would wear. But on my skin, it really is something quite different. My son likes this and he can pick out the leather quite readily. After about 4 hours, I am still getting arms length projection. I love this an have promoted it to my full bottle want list.

Love this scent from top note to base. I've worn it for several days now. The top is very similar to the dry down of Guerlain's Vetiver, even though the somewhat peppery lavender remains distinct throughout. it's not listed in the notes, but I get a nutmeg accord--maybe the leather and amber are mingling that way with the cinnamon. I find the musk almost undetectable, as with their fig fragrance. The manufacturer lists this as a man's fragrance, and despite the lavender it's definitrly not girlish--but as a woman who wears a lot of unisex scents I find it very nice on my skin. It's long lasting and has enough sillage to be noticeable to people you walk past, but if you're not in motion or you're well into the dry down it should be fine in an office setting.

This fragrance is rich. Starts off with luxurious lavender and morphs into the most comfortable rich smooth leather jacket imaginable. Not to strong and not to weak. I recommend it highly.

Very, very good. The only thing that keeps Lavande Ombree from being great is that it isn't anything you haven't smelled before ... at least, for awhile. I tried a sample. To my nose this smells like a more linear version of the original Burberrys For Men (1981). If you like that heavy, manly type of fragrance this will be right up your alley. Longevity? You bet. Sillage? Good. Herbally potent. I do catch a bit of the leather that another reviewer mentioned; but thankfully, zero fecal, at least in my sample. This is a quality, retro-type of fragrance that is nonetheless timeless. I would try before buying because of the price, but I do think this is worth the going rate. Nothing else on the market that I have yet smelled will take you back to those "non-obnoxious powerhouse" days while still being very much in the present day. Maybe that quality alone elevates Lavande Ombree to greatness.

Lavande Ombree is a well-blended aromatic leather fragrance. Opening with earthy lavender rather than crisp and bright. As the fragrance develops, a subtle haze of cinnamon adds a little soft depth without too much heat. Wood notes then start to show with cedar bringing in its dry sun-parched facet. All the while leather is the star of Lavande Ombree--smooth, rich and supple. Finishing with a complementary dry down of hints of clean patchouli, culminating into a unisex woody leather fragrance with a soft, dry, arid vapor.

Animalic leathery fougere. Very weird but it does work :D

Considering that I do not love lavender, this fragrance might be a good place to start to change your mind: a beginning of lavender and bergamot, then hints of cinnamon and rose; then again lavender. Base notes I still can precepire lavander along with leather notes. My opinion does not change. Appreciable but not lovable.

هذه الدار الفرنسية أغلب عطورها نسائية، ولطالما وقفت أمام توليفات عطورها غير أنني لم أجرب أحدها حتى اليوم مع هذا العطر العطر يبدو جيدا وذكيا أيضا، يذكرني بعطر كينيزا تن "Knize Ten" الإصدار الخاص، فهو يرتكز بشكل كبير على الجلود، ولكن الغلبة هنا ستكون للافندر اللافندر هنا يستحق الإشادة والعلامة الكاملة، فأغلب اللافندر المستخدم في صناعة العطور هذه الأيام مبتذل ورخيص، واعتقد أن الهواة الجدد يهضمون حق اللافندر لأنهم لم يرو منه الخامات الجيدة، أما من يرد ان يتعرف وبحق على اللافندر الجيد فعليه بكلاسيكيات جيرلان. عودة للعطر.. العطر سريعا.. فك لي شفرة عطر كينيزا، لأنني أراه يشترك معه في كونه جميلا ولكنه سيكون مملا بعد فترة، والسبب يرجع لنقطة التناقض "الميتيورولوجية" أي أنها تختص بعلم الصقس وطبيعة الجو، فنوتة الجلود في العطر والتي توحي بارتداء المعاطف الشتوية الثقيلة لا تتسق ذهنيا مع نوتة اللافندر المكثفة التي تستحضر في الأذهان الكولونيات الصيفية المنعشة أخشاب الأرز والباتشولي والقرفة والورود والمسك والبرجموت كلها مكونات خافتة إلى جوار هذا الثنائي القوي أراه عطرا خطيا صيفيا اكثر منه شتويا رغم وجود هذه النوتة الجلدية القوية لكن اللافندر هنا نقي وقوي للغاية في النهاية العطر جميل، ولكنه سيكون مللا مع مرور الوقت وربما لا تتجاوز مرات استخدامه أصابع اليد الواحدة كل عام التقدير العام 7/10

This fragrance opens with a nice lavender, which is almost immediately obliterated by a huge birch tar note. For almost an hour all I smell is lavender and overwhelming leather notes. After an hour or so the juice finally begins to soften a bit and you can smell the patch quite strongly and the musk adds an almost fecal note. The faint rose and spice notes do not really seem to fit with the other elements. I would find this juice very unpleasant on a man or a woman. If you are a really 'in your face' leather scent lover this may be for you, but this fragrance is definitely not for me. Sillage is strong and longevity is good.

L'air du desert marocain..the super duper lavender version. Yep, that's what this is. The lavender is everywhere. It's in the top, the middle and the base hence why this is geared for men. More aromatic than it is fougere. Are the fougere qualities very noticeable here? Um...kinda. Herbs? Yes. Spices? Yes. Wood? Ehhhhh. The other notes are more detectable than it is present(if that makes sense to you). This is quite soothing and has the same effect as pharmaceutical relaxants. Like others have stated, this is nothing new but pretty good for what it wants to achieve. A killer fragrance to wear on clothing.

it's a cologne type Lavander & leather scent. the scent of an aristocratic elegant masculine man (in his late 20s) of the 1800+ era, the man who shaves his face using that old razor, wearing that french tight costume and infatuates ladies unconsciously & not intending to do so. it's a great blend, lavender, leather, bergamot, patchouli, and cedar. simple but inspiring.

الحقيقه عطر كلاسيكي اروماتيك ليذري جميل وصف اللافندر باسولب جميل وغير مزجع بجانب الليذر مما اعطى العطر تلك اللمسة الجلدية الكلاسيكية الروجولية الجميلة في عطور الجلود في فترة الثمانينات وماقبل الجلود ذات الطابع البرتولي ساحاول ان اضع تقرير مفصل قدر الامكان عن هذا العطر الجميل.

I get spiced lavender and soap. This is for the guy, who is in the friend zone. He rides a blue Vespa while wearing white jeans and a leather jacket. Perfect for the south of France.

Yuk. I was expecting something dominated by lavender, and was greeted by this melange of dirty herbs instead. Smells more like something you would sprinkle on top of your pizza.
