Rock Candy

First off I don’t ever buy discount store perfumes. Not because I’m a snob, I always check the perfume counter and sniff or spritz something when I’m there then move on and forget about it. Well I did this with this perfume and immediately liked it and went about my shopping, then off to work. Hours later I could still smell it as I moved around and fell totally in love by bedtime as I could still smell it. It’s not a complex scent to me. It pretty much smells the same from top to bottom, beginning to end. But I love the composition of notes so much that I’m glad it stays the same scent throughout. It lasts a very long time! A good 12 hours on me. I’ve yet to find a perfume that stays around this long on my skin. It reminds me of being at a fall fair. Where you can smell the candy apples, buttery popcorn, powdered sugar and cotton candy among all the people. But it’s cleaner smelling, sexy, sweet, flirty and just delicious! I’ve gotten 3 compliments wearing it. All of them said “mmm you smell really good!” For $12.00. Yet I have $200 perfumes that I’ve never received a single compliment on nor do they lasts even close to this long.

I just purchased this for a very low price at a discount site as a blind-buy based on the notes and while I am starting to kinda really like it, but to me, it smells NOTHING like it's notes at all! It isn't an Arabian brand so I don't think it needs time to maturate but I am not getting caramel, vanilla or anything sweet at all until the very end and it's very faint. Maybe the name is getting in my head but what I smell/imagine is the smell of wet rocks (from rain or the lake) sprinkled with sugar on them... if that can make any sense at all to you. It's fresh & a little dirty, which is from the patchouli and it's prominent for sure. I get a little amber which is not in the profile so maybe that is the caramel/vanilla poking through, or maybe it's the rum mixed with the jasmine & musk? I can't say this is something I will be reaching for often but when I smell it I can't help but smile and want to put it on because it smells like how I feel when I am at our Condo on the lake in Lake Tahoe! Relaxed, happy, content and surrounded by nature, water and the sunsetting on the lake. I think more people would really like this if given a chance. Not sure if it's a dupe for anything, but for sure not one for Kayali's.
