Salted Vetiver

This has become a favorite of mine as far as “Dumb Reaches”. And I don’t mean to say it’s not a great fragrance. You can find this at Burlington for about $10, and for that amount of money, it would be dumb NOT to buy it. It’s a very pleasant, Aquatic Woodsy fragrance that is perfect for Spring and Summer. The Vetiver gives it a nice smoky/woody quality that plays with the Aquatic nuances of the Seaweed and Water Notes. It feels like ocean spray, softly hitting you as you walk along a coast on a Breezy but Warm day. I can’t get enough of it. It doesn’t challenge the one smelling it, but it’s also not boring. Finding gems like this is the reason I got into collecting in the first place. If you see it, definitely buy! Performance is where it should be. Above-Moderate in both longevity and sillage. 7.5/10 Update: After wearing this off and on, I realize a striking similarity between this and the original Coach for Men. Slightly aquatic, with some smokiness and soft fruits intertwining.

Nice citrus aromatic with aquatic, woods & vetiver. Scent is actually really good. Presentation is terrible but the atomizer is actually not bad. Definite alcohol blast up front. I got this for under $10 at Burlington. Problem is that the strength, longevity & sillage are pathetic, and i have to hold my nose right up to it to smell it. Can't really expect much for that price, i suppose. If only they made it stronger, i'd actually be willing to pay a little more for it. Good for intimate situations or spray very heavy and bring a decant for long days. Their Aventus inspired Plush Leather is victim to the same fate. Decent smell, just can't perform.

The notes really looked promissing, but this is bad, really bad. Twenty years ago I had a cologne from this house, which was quite classy and different. What a decline since then. Cheap nothing. Even the bottle is trying to be something that it’s not. Thank God it doesn’t cost much, but even my E 9 were a waste of money. Be aware!

Purchased for 10.99 at Ross department store. Perhaps it was the intended marketing effect and I played right into it but when I noticed parfums Aubusson “Paris” I assumed it would have some quality to it. After I purchased it and it was removed from its plastic anti theft cube I was able to peel back the ingredients sticker. And discover “parfums Aubusson Paris” is actually designed in USA and made in China. The scent is solid, I do agree with a previous reviewer it has some similarities to coach for men edt. Coach is sweeter, more dense and less ozonic. Aubusson Salted vetiver has a fresh ocean air crisp smell. A scent that it closely resembles for me would be “Op” blue for him which also clean fresh and ozonic. The performance isn’t more than that of a deodorant spray. And it does have the same fresh deodorant type of scent leading me to believe it’s more of a body spray deodorant as far as use goes. It’s in offensive and projection is not very strong, more of a skin scent after a few minutes. Its great for day time use or for after a shower. I might not reach for it often (due to a growing collection with better options) or I might repurpose it as a room spray because of how fresh ocean air it smells. But that’s not meant to be an insult salted vetiver or deter anyone from purchasing it because it’s easy to like and use. Overall I do enjoy salted vetiver for what it is and the price I found it for. 7/10
