this absolutely grew on me... i usually am a big gourmand scent hater, and im very picky about things smelling "edible" if it feels artificial/synthetic--but i received knead as a gift because, years before it released, i would joke that if i were to have to turn any food smell into a photorealistic perfume, it would be the smell of walking by an auntie anne's in a mall. at first it was off-putting to me for such a scent to come out of a perfume bottle, but i've since found it extremely pleasant and uncannily realistic to the actual smell of an auntie anne's, which is just what i wanted. it is almost the pure smell of the pretzels, vaguely sweet and syrupy, mostly toasty, buttery, bready, and savory. i think i love it so much because it's simple and gives only the smell of a baked good and nothing more. this is probably the one fragrance that is primarily a gourmand that i look forward to wearing, and it brings me a lot of joy :) i will say that my description above mostly applies to when the perfume is sprayed on clothing, and when i spray it directly on my skin, it somehow becomes cloyingly sweet and a little synthetic. that, i enjoy much less, but it seems to work very well and stick around for a long time if sparingly sprayed on clothing. also, i have heard from people around me that it has quite a strong sillage and it even lingers in the spaces I move around in, so be prepared for people near you to notice you smelling uncannily like auntie anne's.

I was so sad that this sold out immediately before I got a chance to smell it, so I eventually had to cave and buy a bottle --- and I do not regret it one bit!!! Somehow, they were able to perfectly distill the what it smells like when you walk past an Auntie Anne's Pretzels shop in the mall: the butter, yeast, salt, sugar, vanilla, and a little bit of cinnamon! I can't stop wearing this perfume cause it just makes me smile and laugh whenever I catch a whiff. It's genious marketing and perfect execution (albeit I wish they made more so everyone could try this) and I'm low-key mad that the perfume is such an actually good PERFUME, that is to say, it lasts for a good long while, has good sillage, and dries down to a creamy, bready, cinnamon vanilla, and at no point in time is the fragrance sharp, unpleasant, or off-putting. It's genuinely such a work of art that if makes me wonder if Auntie Anne's was already pumping this out into the air around their shops before even commercially releasing this as a perfume --- it's THAT spot on. For a fragrance head like me, this is a perfect nostalgic novelty that I can't help but show to all of my loved ones so we can smile and laugh together.

@Olere Novum below called this an unapologetic simple gourmand. I'd have to agree and it does simple in a great way. This is buttery and sweet. It gets the Auntie Annes pretzel spot on but it would also fit the reference of: 1. kettle corn in the air at your local farmers market. 2. that sugary sweet smell they pump into the air at Disneyland 3. Poppycock popcorn...the red bag iykyk Lasts better under clothes. On exposed skin, I get around 6ish hours. Under a t-shirt, the butter lingers and lasts 10+ hours. Lots of resellers out there, but I'll definitely be keeping my bottle. Successful blind buy!

It is a travesty that Auntie Anne's apparently has no plans for making this available again. It's a simple, beautiful gourmand. I get croissant more than pretzels. If you've ever had salt bread (particularly a sweet version) that is exactly what this smells like. No off smells, but sweeter and spicier (mostly cinnamon) than I expected. Love it. Imo it's better than Snif's Crumb Couture because it is stronger, lasts longer, and doesn't have that jammy note. Would love to get a full bottle if it's ever available again, and I don't typically buy the big size bottle of anything.

Holy pretzels Batman! This smells exactly like auntie Anne’s! It’s sweet, it’s cinnamony, it’s salty and it’s bready. The opening brings me right back to the food court. It is much sweeter than I anticipated, but I am not mad about it. This is not a savory pretzel, but one coated in cinnamon sugar and icing. As it dries down, it reminds me of something by Poesie or ColorNoise or some other indie gourmand house would make inspired by cinnamon rolls....I, of course, adore it. So glad I snagged a 3.4 oz bottle!

On first spray, this smells EXACTLY like walking into an Auntie Anne’s. Warm buttery dough, with a cinnamon sugar note and a hint of salt. The dry down is amazing too— though of course it loses the complexity to make it smell like a photo-realistic fresh baked pretzel. After 1-2 hours, it’s like a nice warm honey scent? Not super long lasting!

Oh i love this. Legit just a straight up realistic auntie ann's pretzel scent. I'm not really getting any cinnamon, very buttery, lactonic, bready and slightly salty but overall just a pleasant gourmand. I did not expect to love this as much as i do

So glad i got a bottle of this. I tried to buy 2 when it first came out. I even got an email from the provider. They sniffed me out and called me out on it. #safeguarded. Too bad. This is an epic gourmand. 😎

This smells incredible. Buttery and sweet. For anyone unaware, Demeter created this fragrance, it states on the back of the box that Auntie Anne's licensed Demeter to create/distribute Knead.

This shit sold out instantly 🤣😭 3.4oz bottle was out of stock 3 mins after drop time. Luckily was about to purchase two 1oz bottles 🙏. Will edit this later with a a review when they come!

Layers well with A&F Fierce if you want to smell like the mall everywhere you go.

I received my tiny bottle in the mail today. I love Auntie Anne pretzels, just like most of us who would be interested in reading this page lol. I had to blind buy this based on my love of the real thing. Thankfully it is very good. It does smell remarkably like the real pretzels. We all seem to be getting a combination of freshly baked bread/croissants/pretzel dough, butter, salt and cinnamon. Interestingly, the first time I sprayed it on my hand this afternoon, the dominant note for me was definitely the salt, which was slightly disappointing. But the more I reapply and get used to it, the more it seems to be balancing itself. I am now getting a well-blended mixture of the aforementioned notes. Knead is unapologetically a simple, delicious gourmand. For those of us who grew up smelling and tasting these treats in our local shopping mall, this is a lovely blast from the past filled with good memories and feelings ... like Anton Ego the food critic from Ratatouille trying Remy's namesake dish for the first time. If you have not had luck acquiring this fragrance through its first production run, keep your eye out in the future in case they decide to produce more. In my opinion it is well worth its very affordable retail price. I can't really speak about its longevity, sillage and projection at this point, but based only on smell and how it makes me smile just a little bit inside, I would give it an 8/10 and a Fragrantica score of about 4.25.

Initial spray is an intense hit of doughy buttery-ness. The hint of sweetness with the dough gives a berry or jam kind of scent, but it doesn't overpower the dough scent. Initially get saltiness with the spray, but after 10-15 mins the dough overpowers creating more of a croissant scent than pretzel. Can definitely smell it at least arms length, but after just 30 mins, fades into a more intimate warm salted caramel scent. Yet has a bit more sophistication and complexity than a bath and body works caramel scent. I actually like this transformation since it's cool to smell like a nostalgic mall with the initial spray, but turns into someone more practical and just as delicious.

When I sprayed this in the air it smelled exactly like how it smells in the mall. However, when I put it on my arm it was a nice buttery, salty smell, but shortly after it developed into an overly sweet smell that I don't care for too much. I'm hoping that it's just my body chemistry and if I spray it on clothes that it'll maintain that salty buttery smell. We'll see 🤞

Smelling Auntie Anne's in the mall is a core memory for me, so of course I had to snag this. Inital scent is heavy on the salt and butter, especially the salt. After dry down hints of cinnamon, chocolate, and slight honey come through. A yummy day gourmand for those into hyper realstic sweet scents.

I like this but I don't know if I love it yet. You definitely get that realistic fresh Auntie Anne's pretzels smell on the initial spray! The drydown is just a salty/sweet buttery scent. I feel like if I layered this with Olympea by Rabanne or another vanilla frag, it'd be a nice cold weather scent!

Instantly smells somewhat like soft pretzels but as it dries down it goes into an ambiguous gourmand scent. Cinnamon, vanilla, and kind of... oceanic? Like if Cinnabon and Auntie Anne's were next to the fountain at the mall.

Salty and buttery and randomly lasts forever on clothes. Kind of impressive how well it captures the shopping mall sleeper agent scent of a pretzel, but there's something just-off about it. A little overly sweet maybe.

It’s not at all like I was expecting. I was expecting to get that delicious smell we all smell when we walk past an Auntie Anne’s. On first spray I get this syrupy smell with maybe a hint of cinnamon? Not spicy cinnamon at all though. Almost like a super RICH cookie dough. Then once it starts drying down I get that dough. Straight up pretzel dough. That syrupy-ness is still there though. I get a pinch of salt on the dry down on top of everything else. This reminds me of something I can’t put my finger on right this second. It’s not bad, but it’s not what I expected. Will update after it’s rested. Edited to add: ok now more of that freshly baked pretzel smell is coming out more. The nostalgia 🥲 I think the true scent this is supposed to give will come out as it sits Edited to add part 2: for $25 I’m not mad at it!! The longer it sits on my skin, the better it’s getting and I cannot stop sniffing it lol Edited to add part 3: ok I got it!! The “syrupy” smell I’m getting I think is from the cookie dough note. Like a thick, rich cookie dough. Heavy brown sugar. If that makes sense. Not maple syrup. But lotssss of brown sugar

Ok, I was at the pre launch in nyc and let me tell you no lie this is my favorite gourmand ever! It smells exactly like an Auntie Anne's but as it sits it smells more and more like cinnamon and vanilla. I thought it would be a childish meme perfume but no it's the real deal! It wears extremely well too. I'm a large man who sweats alot and it was in the high 80s during the launch and it wore from 12 to around 6. Even sweat didn't take it off! I even got compliments while shopping! I hope it restocks becuse I'm so afraid of this running out!

This is an absolute delight! I'm so happy to give this such a glowing review becuse I did not expect this to be one of my favorite pieces I own. It smells like a cinnamon pretzel with butter and vanilla. Butter is such a hard scent to get right and 99 percent of the time it makes me sick but this perfume nails the butter. I cannot reccomend enough and I'm convinced the people who dislike it are just mad it sold out so quickly

Auntie Anne's made only enough of this to get everyone talking about their brand. Seems they never planned on making this fragrance widely available. They played a trick on the public. Never eating one of their stupid pretzels again.

It's primarily salt to my nose. I get slight sweetness and almost no cinnamon. Sillage is moderate, but it longevity is moderate to good. I don't know if marine gourmand is a category, but this is how I'd classify Knead.

Well, here we are on the release day. I go to their website and there’s nowhere to even buy it. They really thought this one through. Thanks, Auntie Anne’s!

As of today, Knead perfume by Auntie Annie’s Pretezels is sold out. Hope they restock the fragrance. I’d love to smell it. Thank you.
