Song Of Everlasting Sorrow

To me this smells of steaming tea, rooms filled with the smell of yesterday’s incense, and a gorgeous bouquet waiting for someone that will never arrive. Both reminiscent of happy times, but overshadowed with a feeling of sadness. This bottle makes me feel more than most recent releases I’ve tried.

The first time I sampled it it reminded me so strongly of Windsong that I got hold of a sample of that for a side by side test. Now that I've done that, I realize that it's the journey of the scent more than the scent itself that reminds me of the older fragrance. This opens incense and soft amber and then moves into a soapy powder. It smells less floral when compared to an actual floral, but in insolation it smelled more like a mainstream soft floral blend perfume than I'm used to indie's smelling. It's an interesting one. It's listed as linear but I disagree. Primary scent lasts about 10 minutes. Powdery incense is a few hours. It stays close to the body but does leave a bit of a trail, more of a movement enhanced scent than an outreacher. Unisex. Safe for some offices. Not a safe blind buy.

A really interesting Oriental centered around two prominent accords of lychee fruit and incense, this is another dense resinous offering from the Malaysian brand Auphorie. The perfume opens with the central lychee note surrounded by hints of tea and pear. There is a brief floral heart composed mainly of rose and peony but also noticeable ginger and geranium. The perfume settles of the dense incense surrounded by slight hints of amber, synthetic musk and oud. The unisex perfume has strong sillage and projection and good longevity. Unlike its name and inspiration though, the scent is not very melancholy and has a pleasing but a bit overstuffed feeling. Overall another nice addition to this eclectic line and an evocative distinct scent. Enjoy!

This absolutely smells like a dingy clinic or hospital and subway piss. On the bright side, it also lasts an eternity. EDIT: I spoke too soon. I'm half an hour in. Actually, subway piss perfume is starting to smell pretty good. It mellowed into having more of a pronounced incense/sweet/herbal quality to it. Like it definitely still smells like piss... but a piss you're comfortable with, because it's your piss? For me, the audaciously confrontational opening is not worth the cost of entry, but it's really much more complex and pretty than I gave it credit for.

Like others have noted, e beginning is quite offputting. Hospital bathroom. Then the urine impression fades and it's just old dusty sour rose. I would cry tears of sorrow too if I had blind bought this.
