Rage Of The Ocean

I didn’t expect to love rage of the ocean this much it opens with fresh grapefruit and ginger then turn smoky and deep within sense and notes. The sit and dry down is warm and last all day strong Silo to compliments hours later.

Nose Note #777 This marks the last fragrance I will ever buy from Aurora Scents. Almost every single scent from them was crap. I have about 10 or more. This is probably the worst of all. If they were striving to just make something niche, then kudos. This is a polarizing scent. Doesn't feel like it has a structure. Forget the note breakdown. The closest thing I can think of is Al Rehab One Secret - it has a similar womens hairdresser's smell, but just done worse than Al Rehab. I'm so sorry for Aurora, because I can't imagine how they manage to make each of their fragrances crappy and each in it's unique crappy way... The marine accord together with a rose note create something somewhat stomach turning and hairsprayish. Very niche smelling 2/10, really not good, almost disgusting

Blind Buy Diaries # 14. Aurora scents, a M.E. brand which besides the usual clones, has some different OG releases as well. After acquiring Moon Dust, had my eyes set on this as the other prospective buy from the Globe series. Saw it was on sale at one of my usual vendors at a decent price and went for the blind buy. After using it, three to four times, first thoughts are that it smells like an aquatic version of BDC. So not a clone by any means, but more akin to an attempt at creating a mesh of a "blue/ aquatic" fragrance. The grapefruit, ginger and mandarin notes are noticeable from the onset, followed by incense, rose and marine notes which take centerstage. The rose and incense can be smelt for the duration of the scent. Drydown is woody and amber. Not reinventing the wheel by any means and also not an accurate description as the name would suggest "rage of the ocean". All seasonal scent? Better suited for summers and spring. Unisex? Masculine Blind buy worthy? It smells good, can be classified as a safe daily driver and reminds me somewhat of Missoni Pour Homme as well. Otherwise no other redeeming feature here. Performance? Longevity, around 5 to 6 hours, with moderate projection and sillage. Hopefully maceration will come into play here.
