Tuberose Diabolique

this is a beautiful tuberose scent. i love tuberose, but many tuberose based scents are a little too fresh or light for my liking. this scent a dark, somewhat balmy tuberose with a bit of spicy warmth. i have difficulty describing it, but it's definitely an exotic, nighttime floral scent. it is not sweet or overpowering at all. one of my favorite scents by ava luxe.

Well, this is really interesting. When I first got into niche perfumery, about 12 years ago, I purchased an oil called Viva from Ava Luxe. It came in a tiny bottle with a glass stopper and a black label. I wore it an entire summer. I don't even think she was offering any other form but oil at the time. The oil was thick and amber in color. As soon as I sprayed my Tuberose Diabolique, I realized it was basically Viva without the black coconut. If you enjoyed Viva, back in the day, I think you'll enjoy this one as well. If you like Tuberose Diabolique and want to smell a version with black coconut and a touch more ginger added, try Viva. Tuberose Diabolique is a sweet and creamy tuberose and gardenia with a good dose of spices. It smells like a buttered tuberose that has been dusted with cinnamon, clove and ginger. The carnation adds to the overall spicy feel. Even though this fragrance is rich and thick, it's not necessarily very heavy. Yes, you could over spray but in moderation it could be worn any time, any season. Overall, I can't shake the feeling this was created because Ava Luxe wanted a coconut free, slightly toned version of Viva. It works too! I think it's more wearable and will appeal to more people than Viva.

This is a delicate mildly sour tuberose gardenia blend with some red carnations and slight peppers as spices. As far as it calms down, it goes quite floral and overly sharp with much gardenia, black peppers and doses of tuberose.
