Absolute Santal by Elite Gentleman

Not bad for an avon fragrance! Elite santal is nice, interesting and well blended, it doesent smell like a 10€ product. U can clearly detect the notes of cardamom, violet leaf and sandalwood. Fresh and warm at the same time without being too sweet, elite santal has personality and can find a good place in the collection of every fragrance lover. It has a bit of a mature vibe which i prefer and for now i cant compare it to another scent. performance is the bad side of avon fragrances, this is not weak but not a great projector(there are many designer and niche parfumes with the same performance or even worse). Longevity 4-5h, on paper lasts a long time. Better for spring and fall. A good Surprise! Elite santal è un ottimo profumo che vale più del prezzo pagato. The 3 notes are there, a watery fresh violet opens to a cardamom less sweet than the EO, these 2 surrounded by a base of clean (not creamy) sandalwood with an intense citrus edge (Givaudan's Sandalore?). The overall feeling is airy, fresh, citrus, balmy, semi-sweet, diurnal, springtime. The longevity is better than the projection. The presentation is the same as in the popular Absolute by Elite Gentleman, which was it's oud-amber predecessor. This line just got another amazing affordable scent. Who said you can't smell smart and get great quality perfumery from Avon?

It ́s very close to Santal 33 but more Masculine. Cardamom and Santal blast from the beginning and the Cardamom settles down around 1,5h - 2h, then after 3,5h the Violet setts in with a bit of sweetness, all and all It ́s an absolute beautiful Santal frag all the way to the end 7h+ with some smooth surprisingly good sillage. For the low low low low ...oh wait did I say low,. price its great! Smell 8/10 Longevity 7.4/10 Sillage 7/10 Versatility 7,5/10 Uniqueness: 8/10 Value and Quality 12/10

Somehow, I find this close to Le Male Elixir, but it's less sweet and more woody/spicy. I can smell mint, cardamom, smoky woods, and some spices. It's challenging and rich, perfect for those who are 30 years old and above. This scent is suitable for any season except summer. Additionally, it fits more for special occasions and date nights. Overall, I rate it 7.5/10. I love it.

Yep, it's Santal 33 alright, but not the New York type, more like the Warsaw type, you have to get it, as soon as you can.

It is straight up sandalwood at first sniff. But when you overspray, it becomes more sour and generic and tiring. I spray on my clothes and it stays good. Usually the thing that stays on my clothes is the smell of sandalwood. I love this because its great for everyday and it is more fresh and bit sweet from itself because of the sandalwood. Depending on the things that you layer with, it can easily be unisex but it's a bit more like masculine itself

Avon paid Frank Voelkl to design a more affordable Santal 33, which too was designed by him?

I have ordered this against my better judgement, continuing my foolish and ultimately doomed quest to find an excellent sandalwood / santal fragrance. I brazenly ignored the warning sign off having briefly owned Avon Absolute by Elite Gentleman and found it to be a sickly, doughy mess. Along the roadside lay the charred remains of El Ganso Bravo Monsieur (too sour), Abaco Paris Labo (too cigarettey), Cremo Palo Santo (very good but a dry, pickled cedar not sandalwood), Dunhill Century (good but screechy and discontinued) and Kirin Santal Sky (close, but thin and discontinued), amongst others. Will update in due course... UPDATE: It's poor. It smells quite similar to the sickly original Avon Elite Gentleman, with a vaguely ozonic edge added. My main problem with this is that it 100% smells like a cheap Avon fragrance made up of familiar low-quality drugstore notes that you will have encountered many times in body sprays and shampoos. There is nothing "punching above it's weight" or "niche quality" about it. It's not a horrible mix of notes, it's just basic & cheap smelling. In the dry down, when the doughy sweetness wears off, it's a bit better, but you can barely smell it by that point. Also it doesn't smell of sandalwood or Santal 33. What a fool I've been!

A cheap alternative to Santal 33. In latin America this is called Sensus Santal Absolute. Not bad at all. Price quality its ok. 80/100 RIYL: Santal 33, Dunhill Century, etc.

sapeur1999 is spot on. Mainly I get a watery aromatic violet/cardamom feel with citrus tinges, like when you bite on a cardamom. No creaminess so far.

It's very, very affordable, but also linear and boring. Or maybe it's just not for me

Really close to Santal 33 to be honest. Quite impressed.
