Aspire

A refreshing scent for everyday, winter or fall. I personally think its way better than Red Door by Elizabeth Arden, i have both, as Aspire is soapier and fresher, Red Door is more powdery and heavy. They could be dupes for one another though, indeed the two are extremely similar. I have Chanel 5, D&G and Moschino Cheap and Chic, therefore i can acknowledge some resemblance, but definitely no similarities with Avon. Aspire can remind of D&G's gorgeous classic, but isnt as sensual in its drydown; Chanel 5 is a bit softer and fruitier compared, Aspire is sharper; Cheap amd Chic is as good as 'soapy' can ever be, its the ideal, epitome, 'perfection achieved' of that category - Extremely intimate, fresh and spicy - simultaneously, a magnificent, complex scent that develops, changes and gets better as you wear it, much like D&G. Aspire is a tad more linear, what you spray on at first - is what youll pretty much be getting. Still i enjoy it, its very nice, i recently got lots of Avon frags and intend to use it when i want to 'save' up on my exquisite Moschinos, Chanels and Gabbanas! Aspire - also nice for a bedtime scent after a refreshing shower or bath in warmer weather. The longevity is excellent, and the sillage.

I actually quite like this fragrance. It could be the little sister of Elizabeth Arden's Red door, but this is not as heady and overwhelming, nor is it exactly same smell of course, but the very close sister in my opinion. It's bold and womanly in a differennc, little bit dated way but it doesn't smell old or really out of date. Flowers are the most dominant notes here, aldehyds make the composition round and soft and soapy with the hint of "class" if you know what I mean. Not for gradmothers - anyway, who is a "typical grandma"? -, but you must know who you are if wearing this. And, being an edt this perfume has a very nice longevity and good sillage as well. Definetely worth the money if the scent is for you.

Miralady, yes, it's actually the same bottle only the colour of the cap is different... The more I wear this perfume the more I love it. It's something that feels first a little bit too 'classic-stíle' for daytime but it somehow grows on you when wearing it. My husband also likes it on me. It's a little bit strong first but than it becomes softer and softer and only a little, flowery touch remains that make me feel very feminine and stylish. Very good job, Avon!( and I love the style of the bottle, too. Only the cap is a little but cheap plastic.)

Where can I purchase this? It is not in my Avon book yet. Can anyone send me a message please. thanks Okay so I got some and it is incredible. I put it on this morning at 5:00 a.m. and it is now 4:00 p.m. and I can still smell it!!! even on my skin not just clothing. That never happens to me. It is wonderful and maybe one day I will be able to purchase a large bottle.

I assume that isabelle007 was sarcastic. If someone says that a perfume is most appropriate for elderly ladies and the other one feels very well when using the same fume, however she is only 34 years old, then the elderly lady-theory becomes a little bit funny, doesn't it? By the way, what's your opinion of this perfume?:)

First, two thoughts~ 1. This is not a bit like Chanel No 5. Nope! 2. This is hardly at all like Vanderbilt. What does come to mind is the bright red scent of Red Door. It is SO much alike, in fact, that when my sister was wearing Red Door, I couldn't tell WHICH of us I was smelling! I do wonder if this is why Avon did not market this in the US, because Red Door is so accessible and familiar here?? Because of the generousity of a darling fellow - fragrantican ( you're a dear! ), I now have a super sample of this ripe, red scent. And as a person who cannot wear Red Door without visions of cherry cough syrup, this is an unlooked - for treat! Red Door and Aspire smell Almost like twins to my nose, but react differently with my chemistry. Very! My sister identifies more musk in the base of Aspire, and I notice ( with pleasure! ) that the drydown is still true to the opening notes. Red Door seems a little fruity by comparison, with no noticable musk whatsoever. All in all, Aspire is a quality fragrance for the price --- I dare say most people would not believe this could be Avon. The Elizabeth Arden perfume doesn't smell any more expensive, and I doubt VERY much if I could tell that someone was wearing Red Door vs. Aspire. It's all a matter of chemistry, of course. But on my skin, I'd RATHER be wearing this one!! Good Stuff.

Doesnt look to me like no5 or Vanderbilt either. This one is almost unreviewable. What to say-not elegant in ceremonious way,not elegant in modern way, doesnt make a statement,feels comfy to those who love serious,brave perfumes,doenst scream for attention but is not shy,smells too strong at start,then soapy and clean, good for casual wear; will make u feel practical,ready for action,somehow organized (more in your own thoughts than in a real sense of the word) but with it u will still keep a warm,informal heart that is not really asociated with those traits and persuits. Lasts quite long,a bit more longevity wouldnt go a miss. The perfume that willmake you feel elastic,agile and therefore comfy,comfy but not cosy. I always come back to it,dont know why,but i know it is really worth a try.

Wow, I discovered today after trying Elizabeth Arden's Red Door (I guess the latest reformulation, it reads "elegant new look, same classic scent" on the back of the box) that two scents here are absolutely identical! I am surprised, Red Door was sort of a blind buy for me, and I didn't expect it to smell like Avon Aspire which I already have. If you like the concept here, buy the one you can find cheaper because they are really the same. *Migraine sufferers must be careful.

To my nose, Aspire is Chanel No 5 + Vanderbilt. A very soapy, aldehydic, old school floral. Aspire is not a sweet fragrance and I think it's currently the most unique and grown up fragrance in Avon's range. Give it a go.

Chanel no 5 and this ?? No , 100 times No . Chanel no5 has baby like smell , soft yet clean , this is very very Red Door like . Maybe people are comparing this with no.5 because of aldehydic notes , but there isn't any simmilarities

Nothing like 'Women Of Earth', which was amazing BTW. They only used the same bottle, but there is absolutely nothing in common between them. Aspire is the smell of an old lady's wardrobe filed with furs and naphtaline. So sad...

I don't like aldehydic fragrances so much but this is not bad. I think it's an ordinary scent the best for elder ladies (like my grandmothers), a little bit nostalgic, not very modern or sexy.

It's not like Women of Earth! I really don't like it,I've got full bottle (gift) and can give it away-if anyone interested.

I do not understand the general negativity towards this perfume. Granted, at first I was disappointed because I expected something deep and complex like Chanel No. 5. After giving Aspire a fair trail though I came to appreciate it for what it is. This is a truly unique fragrance, I cannot think of anything similar. It opens with a fresh burst of bright aldehydes which reminds me of inhaling fresh country air early on a winter morning. Unlike other aldehyde scents I have encountered the freshness of Aspire lasts a long time, I still detect it in the dry down which is very unusual. The middle notes takes quite a while to appear, they finally arrive on a delicate cloud from far away like the promise of spring on an afternoon breeze towards the end of winter. I do not really distinguish the individual floral notes, it is a balanced bouquet of white and green. The dry down is hard to describe, almost as if there is no dry down with this perfume. It is slightly more musky and muted than the middle notes but that is the only difference I detect. Aspire is very linear in my opinion. A cool white floral scent that is nice to wear on a hot day. All in all I like this, it is great for when I crave something simple and clean. Apply lightly though, this is surprisingly strong and long lasting for an Avon perfume.

Bright red scent that is aldehydic, soapy and floral too. There is no sweetness in it rather this is more of grown up and unique fragrance. This reminds me of Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door which is a generous one but this is way better and smells beyond perfection to me. This is a real luxurious and expensive kind of smell that smells really good. Vibes that I get from this one is brave, serious. Opening is strong which settles to clean and soapy later. There is warmth as well along the freshness. This lasts long and makes one feel comfortable in most pleasant way. There is feminism and boldness in it in a varying way that makes it date worthy as well. Dominating notes in this one is floral ones that gives it a classy and appealing feel. Silage is good too for this amazing beauty. Incredibly good!!

Aspire does smell a bit vintage. It's not necessarily only for older women but it requires a certain experience of life to wear it. I'm quite young but I believe that some women older than me can see this as a nostalgic scent. The aldehydic feeling of this fragrance reminds me a bit of honey. That's weird, every time I smell it on my wrist I think of honey. That kind of honey that has been in a jar for a long time and has gone solid. And oh boy it lasts long. I put it on my wrist one evening and I could still smell it there the next morning. And it was only the tester. Do try it if you like the aldehydes because it is interesting perfume.
