Daisies Won't Tell

Since I'm the only review, I will allow myself to be wordy. ♡ Does this smell like daisies? What do daisies even smell like? My mom's Shasta daisies always smelled bitter and very green to me. That's not at all what this is. This, to me, is a very light, sweet, high-pitched floral like lily of the valley or jasmine are (though neither are the scent Daisies Won't Tell us based on.) That said, the scent profile isn't clearly letting me know what flower this is supposed to be. Guess it's their secret. (See what I did there?) ... Anyway, it's just sweet, floral, and very childlike. I can get the reference to talc, and even a soft, but sturdy, musky foundation. It's not a star, just enough there that it becomes something more than just a yellow-floral powder. Certainly not enough to add maturity to the scent, just takes the edge away from what I imagine might be cloying without. All that said, I imagine this must be 110% pure, uncut nostalgia for anyone who smelled it in the past because its not obvious what it smells like, but it has a strong point of view. I dont think there is probably anything that smells exactly like this, apart from this itself, so nothing else would do. Since Daisies Won't Tell is before my time and nobody in my family wore it while I was growing up, I don't have any personal associations with it. Going off unbiased vibes then, the scent to me brings to mind something like fragranced, thick, white, chemical sunblock for kids in late Spring. Definitely the smell of sunblock being rubbed on wet skin at the local pebble beach lake or a neighborhood back yard slip'n slide party, rather than a white sand beach for sure. It smells like rainbow sherbet, knee band-aids that need changing, and Tinkerbell cosmetics if they came in yellow instead of pink. It's Susie's first perfume. This is not for the modern Sephora children. This stopped being for children in in 1993. She is definitely a relic of the past (that she is an aerosol to boot only seals the historical deal.) On its own, I don't find myself choosing this because it's a little too chemical to be innocent, and feels a little headache-inducing to me with too dramatic a spray. But since it is unique and interesting, I will try layering it with other scents like it's an ingredient to see if I can find a good partner that will make this more wearable for my personal vibe. I've tried Betsey Johnson (with the crazy pink cap) and V&R Bon Bon so far, but Daisies gets easily swallowed. The experimenting is fun though. I don't have a history with Avon, but their scents and bottles are converting me since joining this site. If you like nostalgic accents, I would grab it. I don't know how age might have changed this scent over time, but blessedly even in 2025, I know she's still got something to give.
